Transgender Man's Parents Issue Birth Announcement Correction: See the Sweet Message

A young transgender man in Australia, Kai Bogert, recently came out to his parents, at which point they responded by doing something truly touching.

Yolanda Bogert and Guy Kershaw of Jimboomba, Queensland, took out a birth announcement that retracted their original announcement from 1995.

In the December 1 edition of The Courier-Mail, the proud parents wrote:

"In 1995 we announced the arrival of our sprogget, Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informs us that we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad." "We would now like to present, our wonderful son - Kai Bogert."
"Loving you is the easiest thing in the world. Tidy your room."

The family spoke to The Courier-Mail the following day, after the ad went viral. His mother said, "I needed to show my son I support him 100 percent."
"[We] wanted to let the world know that. It is all very new to us," she admits. "Kai just told me a few days ago that he no longer wanted to live as a girl."

Kai, for his part, was shocked (in a good way) by their response.
"This last week has changed everything for me," the 19 year old told the paper. "I am still me, but I am more me than I was a few days ago and feel free."

Sometimes, it's the little things in life that mean the most - the littlest gestures by, and for, those we love and care most for in this world that make all the difference.

Kim Kardashian: Dumped by Kanye West?

This is a difficult time to be a member of the Kardashian family.

First, Khloe Kardashian gets pregnant, despite being in love with someone other than her baby daddy!
And now, according to In Touch Weekly, Kim Kardashian gets dumped by Kanye West just prior to the holidays. That sucks!

Indeed, the same tabloid that announced an end to the Kimye marriage after 58 days now reports that West has broken up with his wife in "front of her entire family."

It’s unclear exactly what happened (likely because nothing at all happened and this story is totally made up), but an anonymous source tells the magazine that Kim is angry over Kanye being in Europe during Thanksgiving.

"It was the last straw for her,” a supposed family friend tells In Touch. “She’s getting ready to file divorce papers."

That's the exact opposite of what the tabloid screams on its cover, which alleges that Kim was the one dumped by Kanye.

But, come on. It can be tough to keep track of a story that you're making up as you go along.

In related news we published yesterday, Kim is hoping that having more children will save her struggling marriage. SIGH.

We're just hoping that tabloids stop being so unoriginal in their writing.

Abomination: 13 Year Old Girl Flees Home With Lover!

The police in Lagos are battling to find a 13-year-old girl, Chikwuo Ezennia, who reportedly fled her house with a yet-to-be-identified man, suspected to be her lover.

Punch Metro learnt that Ezennia, who is in Basic 4, had come to Lagos from Nneni village in Anambra State to spend her holiday with her relatives.

Punch gathered that the girl, however, fled her relatives’ apartment on Ishola Bello Close, Iyalla Street, Alausa, Lagos, in the afternoon of Thursday, November 20, when the family had gone out.

It was gathered that when the girl’s aunt, Mrs. Ambrose Okolo, and her husband returned from work at about 6pm, Ezennia was nowhere to be found.

Punch correspondent also gathered that during the initial search for her, some neighbors told the Okolos that they saw the teenager walking away with a man in the afternoon.

Ezennia was said to have told the neighbors that her aunt maltreated her and had traveled away for a week. Hence, she would be staying with a friend during that period.

Punch Metro learnt that the family reported the matter at the Alausa Police Division the following day. It was gathered that the police invited some persons, who allegedly saw the girl, for interrogation.

It was also gathered that Ezennia, who speaks only Igbo fluently, was supposed to return to her village by the end of December. It was further learnt that Ezennia had a record of fleeing home to stay with men when she was in the village in Anambra.

When PUNCH Metro visited the apartment on Tuesday, Okolo, who is a self-employed chartered accountant, said the family was anxious to know the supposed lover, who had been shielding the girl, adding that all efforts to locate her had proved unsuccessful.

She said,
“Ezennia is just 13, but she looks big enough to be called a man’s wife. If you see her, you will think she is a lady. She just came from the village to spend some time with us and she is supposed to go back this December. But since that Thursday, we have yet to find her.

“The reason I suspect she may be with a lover is because of some recent developments. Just a week before that incident, I traveled to Benue for a programme, and she was alone with my children in the house. There is a phone that my children use which contains only my number and my husband’s.
But when she fled home and we started the search, I picked up the phone and to my surprise, I saw a string of strange numbers.The children said Ezennia used the phone when I traveled. I wondered who she might have been calling since she is new in Lagos.”

Punch Metro learnt that calls and text messages sent to the numbers by the family since the day of the incident had not been replied to.

Efforts by our correspondent to obtain Ezennia’s photograph were unsuccessful as the teenager had yet to take any since she arrived in Lagos.

How to Spot a Pathological Liar

The term, “liar, liar pants on fire” takes on new meaning when dealing with a pathological liar. • Liars like to distance themselves from the subject. Taking Bill Clinton as an example, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman," has the two giveaways of "did not" and "that woman" help point out that it's a lie.
• Liars use qualifying language, like "to tell you the truth."
• Repeating the question before answering it dishonestly is a common indicator of a lie.
• Liars look you in the eyes too much. They don't fidget, but rather freeze their upper body.
• Liars will fake smiles.
• Liars like to offer details.
• When liars are the culprits and trying to avoid punishment for what they did, they're more likely to suggest strict punishments for the "real culprit."
• Liars are terrible at telling their stories backwards.
• Liars will often point their feet towards an exit.
• Liars will often put barrier objects between themselves and the person asking them about their lie.

Dog Got a Befitting Burial in Lagos - See Picture

A male Alsatian dog popularly known as Dr. Papilo has got a befitting burial in Lagos.  

 

Though Papilo died last month, his burial arrangement was moved to last Saturday where the dog was buried amidst affluence and pageantry. A service of songs was held for him, an army band played at the funeral with gunshots as a sign of last respect for him while a condolence register was also opened for him at his owner’s resident.

The owner of the dog who owns an hotel in Lagos said the death of his dog who has been with him for 15years is quiet painful. Hear him;

“My wife and I stayed together for some time without a child. Suddenly, people started calling us Papa and Mama Papilo. The dog travelled with me to Jos and Maiduguri. While in Maiduguri, it was trained and used to hunt bombers. It was a unique dog. In the real sense, it was my first child. When I lost Papilo, I felt sad the same way I felt when I lost my wife. The dog was just too close to me.

“Papilo confronted armed robbers some time ago and gave one of them a serious injury. The robber could not run further, and was later caught by the police. Everybody knew Papilo in this area. I am missing the dog, and the other six dogs at the hotel are also missing Papilo because it was like their father. Here, we treat dogs like human beings. We give them the best food you could think of,” he said.

The dog was buried in a 4-feet grave decorated with roses in its owner’s hotel in Ikeja after the burial ceremony which took place at Oshifila street in Ikeja.

Can you keep stuff delivered by mistake?

Christmas has come early for one man from south London.

 

According to BBC, Engineering student Robert Quinn received 46 items worth £3,600 because of a mistake by Amazon and was allowed to keep them.

He was sent a selection of gadgets, including a 3D TV worth £889, tablets, a games console and even a heater.

The goods were 'returns' meant for an Amazon depot, but were instead wrongly dispatched to his home address in Bromley.

"I told them I have a moral issue if people sending this stuff back end up losing out. But Amazon assured me that would not happen," the Liverpool University student told The Sun.
 

The 22-year-old said he would give some of the items to charity and sell off others to raise money to invest in a small business he's setting up.

He also received a baby buggy, a leaf blower, a single bed, a chest of drawers, a Sony PSP console, a Waterman pen, computer gear, a £170 electric wine cooler, CDs, DVDs and books.

Can you keep packages wrongly delivered to your house?

The answer is yes and no, according to Citizens Advice.

Items that firms send to you, but you didn't actually order are called "unsolicited goods". You're well within your rights to keep them.

You have no obligation to send them back to the company or to pay for them. If a company demands payment, that's a criminal offense.

But this doesn't apply to items sent to you by mistake (as happened to Robert); if the order was sent to you twice; or if there's extra stuff on top of what you ordered.

If a firm has left goods with you that weren't unsolicited goods, they still belong to the trader and you should try to give them back.

Firms can take you to court to recover their goods.

That happened last Christmas when online retailer Zavvi sent customers games consoles worth £170, instead of games that cost £20.

So if they were sent by mistake what do I do?

If items are sent to you by mistake, you will need to contact whoever sent them and ask them to collect the goods.

That shouldn't cost you anything or inconvenience you in any way. You should also give the company a reasonable deadline to collect the items.

Can I sell items delivered incorrectly to me?

Yes, but it's quite a process.
You must try to contact the company twice in writing, following a set procedure.

Even after you've sold the items, it'll be at least six years before you can spend the dosh. During that time the original owner can still claim the money back from you.

The singer, who was appearing on Howard Stern's radio show in America, made the claim after being asked the about the meaning of her song Swine.

"I went through some horrific things," she said. "I'm able to laugh now. I've gone through a lot of mental and physical therapy and emotional therapy to heal over the years.
"I was a shell of my former self at one point... To be fair, I was about 19."

"I think it would terrify me. It would paralyze me.

MY VILLAGE PEOPLE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY INABILITY TO STOP ROBBERY: SUSPECT

A suspected armed robber, arrested by the police in Lagos, has claimed that his family members were responsible for his inability to stop the act.

Punch Metro learnt that the suspect, 28-year-old Emehelu Ndubuisi, was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, November 19 in the Oshodi area of Lagos.

Ndubuisi, who is married with a child, said he was still standing trial for a robbery case at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court when he was re-arrested for another robbery.

He said,
“I am standing trial in court for a robbery case. I used to sell motor spare parts at the Ladipo Market, Oshodi. I was initially arrested by the police in February this year, and was charged to the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court. “I was remanded in the Kirikiri Medium Prison for some weeks during which I met one convict, Ogaga. He had spent three years in the prison. He told me some men wanted to sell a stolen vehicle, but I did not listen to him. “After I secured my bail, I went to my village to attend my grandmother’s burial and I noticed some family members were not happy to see me. When I returned from the trip, I did not know how I listened to Ogaga’s advice.”

“I had sworn never to rob again, but my village people are very evil. They must have charmed me with robbery. It was at the point of collecting the stolen vehicle in Lagos that the police re-arrested me.”

Sterling Bank to reward social media users

Sterling Bank Plc says it is set to reward some selected social media users to the tune of $15,000 and a professional training.

The bank said the move was meant to promote the good use of the various social media platforms, agespecially in terms of its impact on the socio-economic development of the country.

The bank’s Executive Director, Strategy and Finance, Abubakar Suleiman, stated these at a press conference in Lagos announcing the finalists of a voting process to determine the winners.

According to him, the interest of the bank is to identify offered by the new media, in order to encourage ethical use of the media.

He noted that the winners would be rewarded at the maiden edition of the Social Media Awards Africa.

Suleiman said, “We want to encourage people across Africa, those who are engaged either as a hobby or profession in the social media space. “Also, to encourage those who are users because by working very hard to identify those who have excel in this space and by rewarding and recognising them, we are at the same time helping the users to essentially determine those who are the major players in the field.”

The Project Leader, SMAA, Mr. Femi Aderibigbe, who thanked the lender for sponsoring the award, said it was meant to discourage the wrong use of the social media space, and to promote creativity.

Why a Woman Bits Co-Tenant’s Scrotum

Lagos –  A 28-year-old woman, Mirian Ndubuisi, was on Tuesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for biting co-tenant’s scrotum

 

The accused, a business woman who resides at 18, Odolowu St., Ijesha, Lagos State, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and aggravated assault.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her.

The prosecutor, ASP Eranus Nnamonu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 12 at their residence.

Nnamonu said that a fight broke out between the two tenants who had previously been at loggerheads.

He said the complainant had alleged that the defendant’s attempt to eliminate him had resulted in the death of the defendant’s son.

“A scuffle ensued between Ndubusi and the complainant, one Phillip Eze, over his declaration in church while giving a testimony that the complainant’s son death was as a result of her intentions toward him.

“During the fight, Ndubusi bit one of Eze’s arms and his scrotum, leaving deep lacerations there ,” Nnamonu said.

He said that the offenses contravened Sections 171 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Section 171 of the law prescribes that any person who unlawfully assaults another and thereby does him harm is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.R. Onilogbo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter to Dec. 11 for mention.(NAN)

WHO declares Spain Ebola-free

Spain is officially free of Ebola, the World Health Organization declared Tuesday, after no new cases were reported since a nurse’s assistant who contracted the virus there tested negative for it.

 

Since then, 42 days have passed — double the maximum known incubation period for the virus — without another case, allowing Spain to be declared free of Ebola.

Spanish authorities had been monitoring 87 people who came into contact with healthcare worker Teresa Romero Ramos, 15 of whom were considered high-risk and were quarantined at a Madrid hospital, WHO said.

Another 145 hospital employees who helped care for Romero during her month-long stay at the Carlos III Hospital were also monitored.

The WHO statement said it “commends Spain for the measures put in place to identify potential cases and prevent further transmission of the Ebola virus.”

Romero contracted the illness while helping to care for an infected missionary who had been brought back from West Africa. He died of the disease.

In the latest issue of Elle UK, however, the reality star looks farther beyond that and says she wants to have at least three kids. “I want a boy and another girl; I want it to start happening straight away," Kim says. "I loved being part of a huge family – and I want that for North. We’d do IVF if nothing happens, but we both want to keep trying naturally."

Kardashian adds that a trio of physicians told her back in the day that she’d never get pregnant. She was all set to freeze her eggs when the news about North came along.

She also said it took awhile for her to feel comfortable in her own skin.

"It’s taken me a long time to be happy with my body and for my confidence to grow to what it is today.

"I grew up when the body to have was the tall, slim, supermodel one, like Cindy Crawford’s. No one looked like me. It’s good to break the mold and recreate one."

Kim credits her late father for writing her a letter when she was 13 years old, telling his daughter that she’s a “wonderful girl” who had to “understand [her] self worth” outside of her body.

"I’m an Armenian girl, I have shape, and it turned out people liked that," Kim says now. "That makes me feel good about myself and about other women for being so supportive. I am a confident woman, but I didn’t just arrive confident – it has built over the years and that is a big part of who I am now."

Finally, Kim heaped praise all over Kendall Jenner.

"I think she will be a huge star,” says Kardashian. “I definitely think she will be bigger than I have ever been."

According to a report in a Canadian medical journal, a woman who was sick and was being treated in a Canadian hospital had 120 maggots removed from her eyes and nose after fly laid eggs in her eyes and nose..

"During the period, an adult fly (a green blow fly or a green bottle fly) was seen in the intensive care unit. The patient was in a windowless private room that had an open door. The intensive care unit had no windows to the outdoors; thus, it was assumed that the fly had entered the intensive care unit from another part of the hospital. The fly must have left the eggs in her nose and eyelid."

Doctors removed 120 maggots from her eyes and nose. This happened a long time ago - in 2007 - but the images were recently released.

Inhuman Treatment: Woman cuts off housemaid’s finger for a piece of meat in Delta

A woman has reportedly cut off a finger of her 10-year-old maid for stealing a piece of meat from a pot of soup.

The woman, identified as Mama Jennifer, has been arrested for brutalizing the maid, Ndozi, in her restaurant around Akuose New Layout, Ibuso/Asaba axis of Delta State.

The screams of the girl attracted the neighbours, who after rushing to the place, found her in a pool of her blood and after enquiring what happened, it was realised that her madam had chopped off her finger while beating her.

The neighbors immediately rushed the girl to the hospital, while others reported the case to the police and Mama Jennifer was apprehended later in the same day.

The Delta State spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, confirmed the act, saying that the suspect was currently being interrogated by the state CID, and had given them more information on what led to the incident.

“Upon interrogation, she admitted to the inhuman treatment meted out on the maid, adding that she was provoked when it was discovered that the maid stole from the pieces of meat in the Nsala soup leaving her with no option than to chop-off her finger with the knife she was holding. The victim was taken to a private hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.”

Furthermore, Kalu revealed that apart from Mama Jennifer, two other young men participated in beating the girl.

The pair have also been arrested and are presently being detained while investigation continues.

Operatives of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, Adeniji Adele, Lagos, have arrested an upcoming Nollywood actor and gospel musician (names withheld) and two others in connection with the alleged kidnap of a female banker at Mile 2 area of Lagos. 

 
The actor and his alleged partners were said to have kept their victim in an uncompleted building in Mowe, Ogun State for four days, awaiting response from the captives’ family.They were reportedly caught while sharing the ransom.  

Vanguard gathered that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the squad, Mr. Chris Ezike, acting on a tip-off, deployed teams of policemen to the hide-out, where the suspected kidnapers were rounded up and their victim rescued. Police sources said the Enugu State-born 28-year-old actor claimed he was introduced into the act by leader of the gang, whose identity he gave as Jack. He said Jack masterminded the kidnap of the female banker, who was his former boss. He has starred in five home videos: The Eves, Friday Night, Witches Club, Palace Club and Mountain High. He has also released two music albums in 2008 and 2014.

Police sources said:  “The suspects were six in number. But three are on the run and we are on their trail. “During interrogation, the actor said six of them came in a Toyota Corolla car and immediately they saw their target coming out of her Toyota Camry car, they pointed guns at her and drove her to their hideout in Mowe.” He allegedly confessed that himself and Jack drove the victim’s car to Akerele area of Surulere, where they sold it for N250,000. He said he got N100,000, while Jack took the rest.They also sold their victim’s jewellery for N8,000 and her pair of shoes for N3,700.” He also stated that his share of the ransom was N450,000, but did not disclose how much they got, as the bargain was done between Jack and the victim’s family.” One of the suspects reportedly told FSARS operatives that he came from Edo State on invitation by a friend.He said: “A friend invited me to Lagos. All he told me was to watch over the woman and ensure she did not escape from where she was kept. I never knew she was kidnapped. I was tempted by the N350,000 offer.” On his part, the friend, aged 23, said his role was to provide his master’s Toyota Corolla, which was used for the operation, adding that his share of the ransom was N400,000. The suspects, as gathered, have been charged to court for kidnap and robbery.

Operatives of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, Adeniji Adele, Lagos, have arrested an upcoming Nollywood actor and gospel musician (names withheld) and two others in connection with the alleged kidnap of a female banker at Mile 2 area of Lagos. The actor and his alleged partners were said to have kept their victim in an uncompleted building in Mowe, Ogun State for four days, awaiting response from the captives’ family.They were reportedly caught while sharing the ransom. Vanguard gathered that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the squad, Mr. Chris Ezike, acting on a tip-off, deployed teams of policemen to the hide-out, where the suspected kidnapers were rounded up and their victim rescued. Police sources said the Enugu State-born 28-year-old actor claimed he was introduced into the act by leader of the gang, whose identity he gave as Jack. He said Jack masterminded the kidnap of the female banker, who was his former boss. He has starred in five home videos: The Eves, Friday Night, Witches Club, Palace Club and Mountain High. He has also released two music albums in 2008 and 2014.Police sources said: “The suspects were six in number. But three are on the run and we are on their trail. “During interrogation, the actor said six of them came in a Toyota Corolla car and immediately they saw their target coming out of her Toyota Camry car, they pointed guns at her and drove her to their hideout in Mowe.” He allegedly confessed that himself and Jack drove the victim’s car to Akerele area of Surulere, where they sold it for N250,000. He said he got N100,000, while Jack took the rest.They also sold their victim’s jewellery for N8,000 and her pair of shoes for N3,700.” He also stated that his share of the ransom was N450,000, but did not disclose how much they got, as the bargain was done between Jack and the victim’s family.” One of the suspects reportedly told FSARS operatives that he came from Edo State on invitation by a friend.He said: “A friend invited me to Lagos. All he told me was to watch over the woman and ensure she did not escape from where she was kept. I never knew she was kidnapped. I was tempted by the N350,000 offer.” On his part, the friend, aged 23, said his role was to provide his master’s Toyota Corolla, which was used for the operation, adding that his share of the ransom was N400,000. The suspects, as gathered, have been charged to court for kidnap and robbery. Women’s desire for sex is far more complex than previously thought, study says

 

A new study has found that hormones do not drive desire. Instead, a woman’s relationship satisfaction and other psychosocial factors may outweigh any hormonal effects, they say.

The new study conducted in Michigan and 6 other clinical sites across the country found levels of testosterone and other naturally-occurring reproductive hormones play a limited role in driving menopausal women’s sexual function.

While testosterone is the main sex hormone in men, women also have small amounts of it, as ovaries naturally produce testosterone.

Researchers wanted to find out exactly what effect it had on sexual function as women go through menopause.

‘While levels of testosterone and other reproductive hormones were linked to women’s feelings of sexual desire, our large-scale study suggests psychosocial factors influence many aspects of sexual function,’ said John Randolph of the University of Michigan Medical School, who led the study in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

‘A woman’s emotional well-being and quality of her intimate relationship are tremendously important contributors to sexual health.’

Researchers examined data from 3,302 women who participated in the ongoing Study of Women’s Health across the Nation (SWAN) to analyze the relationship between reproductive hormones and sexual function during the menopausal transition.

Memorial And Burial Services For DR. Myles And Pastor Ruth Munroe

Bahamas Faith Ministries (BFM) founder, Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Ruth who died on Sunday, November 9, 2014, will be laid to rest on December 4, 2014. A copy of the burial plan revealed that the burial services for the 9 people that lost their lives in the crash actually commenced on Sunday, November 22, 2014, with the home going programme for the co-pilot, Franhkan Cooper.

The Parks family who lost their son, his wife, and the unborn baby was
buried on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Stanley Thurston who piloted the jet was interred on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Myles partner and senior vice president of the ministry, Dr. Richard Pinder will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Finally, a memorial service would be held on behalf of the Myles on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 while their burial would be on Thursday, December 4, 2014.

According to Bahamas Faith Ministries, Dr Myles and wife's bodies will be in a closed casket at their memorial service next Wednesday. BFM spokesman Kevin Harris said tpeople would not be able to view the bodies out of respect for the family, who decided not to have open caskets after identifying the bodies.

"They were IDed by all the family members, and all the family have confirmed that there will be a closed casket ceremony," said Harris.

May their souls continue to rest in perfect peace. 

It Could Have Been God: 75-Year Old Survivor of Kano Bomb Blast Tells His Story!

One of the survivors of the mul­tiple explosions that hit the Kano Central Mosque in Kano, 75 year old Alhaji Mo­hammed Isa Tiga, is full of thanks to Allah for sparing his life.

The 75 year old who is currently recuperating at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Abdullahi Wase Specialist (Nassarawa) Hospital, told Sun newspaper that those responsible for the blasts came in a Sienna space wag­on just as the Jumat prayers were about to start.

According to him, the three suicide bombers who pretended to be worshipers too drove in with the bomb laden vehicle.

His words:
“As soon as they arrived, they stepped out of the normal worshipers and looked every bit like worshipers until they began to op­erate. I was close by. I saw the three of them alight from the car. A few min­utes after they walked away from the vehicle, the bombs ex­ploded. As peo­ple tried to run away, the young men pulled out their guns and were shooting at those struggling to escape from the blast. I suf­fered injuries in the confu­sion…my sur­vival is a miracle I really don’t know what happened to the three men…” he told Sun.
