A woman has been arrested and detained after her
29-year-old boyfriend reportedly died in her apartment at the Irri
Quaters in Ulli-Iyede community, Isoko North Local Government Area of
Delta State.
The deceased, Harrison Ighoroje, a graduate of the
Delta State University (DELSU), was said to be a teacher at a private
secondary school in another community and had visited the lady to spend
the night with her.
According to source,
the circumstances surrounding his death which is said to have set his
kinsmen against those of the lady, could not be ascertained just yet but
according to one of his close friends, the lady had put an urgent call
across to him in the night informing him that Ighoroje had suddenly
developed a sickness and was convulsing seriously.
Efforts were made by some concerned neighbourss to
resuscitate the man around 3am of the fateful day, but he unfortunately
couldn’t survive.
The woman was urged to file a report of the death to the police after the man was pronounced dead.
One of her friends who spoke anonymously said, “I
was reluctant to go there after receiving the call because it came in
the wee hours of the day. Seeing that her lover had died, the girlfriend
raced to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Oleh to report herself.
She was thereafter detained until autopsy would be conducted on Harrison’s body.”

The 34-year-old screamed at her husband: "She's only 18" before accelerating towards the PE teacher in her Chevrolet car.
Mark, 37, has been married to Addis for 15 years.
Jeremy Jenkins, defending, said: "Things got out of hand
against a background where Addis was seeking to get the truth from her
husband about an extra marital affair with a former pupil.
"It was a misjudgement to move the car forward in the direction of her former husband.
"But it was brought about by the circumstances that prevailed at the time.
"She was candid in interview and accepted that the situation got the better of her. "
The
couple were spotted by neighbours screaming in the road in Glyncoch
near Pontypridd, South Wales, where she was heard shouting about the
girl's age.
The court was told how she had Mark's phone, and he was pleading for it back because he did not want her to read "certain messages".
Addis, a mother of two, then pushed Mark into a bush on the street before locking herself in the family vehicle.
Mark then stood in front of the car and banged on it, Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard.
However that is when she began slowly accelerating forward, "nudging" the PE teacher.
Mark was then seen falling to the ground, holding his leg in pain.
Hywel Hughes, prosecuting, said: "She was nudging him with the car causing him to move backwards and fall to the ground.
"The man was holding his left leg and groaning."
Addis, of Church Village, near Pontypridd, had denied dangerous driving and common assault.
However she admitted careless driving in May rather than face the "tawdry affair" going to trial.
The court was told that she was glad the case had "finally come to an end".
Addis was fined £500 and had seven penalty points imposed on her licence.
Judge Richard Twomlow told her: "This incident was a stupid incident and did not bring much credit on any participant in it."
Mr Addis, who teaches at Aberdare Community School and Miss Gill both declined to comment after the case.
He is listed on Facebook as being in a relationship with financial planner Miss Gill.

A Florida woman Lori Beiswenger loves her dog so much that when an alligator attacked it she wrestled with the reptile.
She fought off the alligator with her bare hands.
Beiswenger who is the manager of the Point O’ Woods
Golf & Country Club in Inverness, Florida recalled that she heard
dog called Hope screaming in pain.
"It was the worst scream I have ever heard from
her. I just ran over and I saw them rolling around on the bank. All I
could see was teeth. Gator teeth and her teeth" she told Bay News 9.
The 'gator had its jaws on he dog's body and was
dragging her to the pond before Beiswenger jumped in the pond and
grabbed the alligator's tail.
"I just kept pulling in, saying, ‘You’re not getting her, you’re not going out there,’ because I knew what he had in mind" said Lori Beiswenger.
She pulled the alligator thrice dragging it away from her dog.
Sympathisers wept profusely in Arepo area of Ogun State yesterday as
no fewer than 110 suspected petroleum pipeline vandals were roasted to
death. The incident occurred along the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) pipeline.
According to LEADERSHIP ,the vandals were scooping fuel when it ignited
the fire, which raged for several hours.When this reporter visited the
scene, some survivors and other people were seen trying to put out the
inferno.
Some people could not identify the corpses of their family members and
friends, while those who recogised their relatives moved the bodies in
canoes.
The management of NNPC was said to have called the policemen attached
to the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on Anti-Pipeline
Vandalism.Some policemen were stranded because of the swamp, and could
not reach the scene where corpses were being removed.
One police officer said,
“The vandals attacked members of OPC. We were, however, invited by NNPC
to come and secure the area while repairs will be done on the security
post. People who were roasted in this inferno should be 110.
The best
thing to use here is helicopter because it is not motorable”.
The newly posted officer in charge of the taskforce, Valentine Olumese, a
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) who was also at the scene, said
that the police had completed plans to take over the protection of the
area.
“The tent that was destroyed will be repaired and access to the scene will be created. Our men will maintain presence.”
Six Nigerian women have been sent back to the country from the
Burkina Faso where they were allegedly taken to for prostitution by a
woman, named Balikis.
While re-uniting the girls with their parents in Ibadan, Oyo State,
on Wednesday, the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Oyo
State Command, Innocent Akatu, said the girls were tricked to leave
Nigeria, adding that the victims did not tell their parents about the
journey.
Akatu said the girls refused to engage in prostitution in
Ouagadougu, Burkina Fasso, and were locked in a room by the trafficker.
He added that their journey back home after three weeks began when one of them escaped and alerted the Burkinabe police.He said,
“The victims, after being smuggled to Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso,
discovered that they were going to be used for prostitution. They were
not even told that they were going to Burkina Faso. These girls were
told that they would be given lucrative jobs abroad; one of them was
told that she was going to manage a jewellery shop owned by her
trafficker.
“One of them was taken from her home in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and
driven to Saki in Oyo State. When she asked why it had taken them so
long to reach the airport, she was told that the plane had left and that
they would have to travel by road.
“The Nigerian embassy assisted in arranging emergency travelling
documents for them to return to Nigeria after their lucky escape. We
have taken them to the hospital for screening and they are HIV
negative.”
One of the returnees, Ganiyat Samuel, said she lived with her grandmother in Ikorodu before she embarked on the journey.
She said, “A woman, called Balikis, came to me and said that I
would make more money as a fashion designer if I travel outside Nigeria.
I told her that I had no passport, but she said that she would take
care of it. I did not tell any of my parents.
“When we got to Saki, she said she could not get a passport for me
because the office had closed. We travelled for two days to get to
Burkina Faso. She took me to her house and told me that I would have to
do HIV test. The test revealed that I was pregnant, but HIV negative.
She told me that she brought me to the country for prostitution and that
I would have to abort the pregnancy. I refused and she locked me in a
room. When she brought another Nigerian a week later, I helped the girl
to escape and she alerted the police. The police rescued us and arrested
the woman.”
Samuel’s mother, Olasunkanmi Afuwape, said her father had died and
after she re-married, she took the girl and her brother to live with her
mother in Ikorodu.

"I've had Travis for years. He was a stray I rescued when I lived in Greece.
"He would come down to the beach I swam at every day and eat from the bins or scrabble in the sand for old bits of crab.
"I'd
leave him food and water so he didn't have to drink from the sea. At
first he would hide in the bushes but eventually he got brave enough to
come over to me for cuddles.
"He'd steal my shoes and bag while I was swimming and, with it, he stole my heart."
When
Travis was struck with a life-threatening virus, Dominique, 41, decided
to take him in full time and the pair have been together ever since.

Tiwa’s husband, Teebillz who could not hide his joy took to his instagram page to thank God for the safe delivery.
Five members of the same family were charged with the
murder of a prophet who had been called to their home in the
village of Mazonde, Zimbabwe to help them cleanse their house of evil
spirits.
According to local newspaper, Zed 24 News, the accused family identified as Leanmore Mutero, Tonderai Muswere, Michael Muchengeti, Manasa Mutero and Nicholas Mutero, appeared at the High Court in Harare facing a murder charge for participating in the death of self-professed Prophet Shamiso Kanyama, who accidentally died during a healing ceremony.
Pastor Kanyama had reportedly asked his followers to
bury him alive so that he could summon more cleansing powers to heal the
family that had been plagued by mysterious deaths.
Zed 24 News reports that High Court
Justice Owen Tagu heard how on that day, the late pastor had been
invited to attend the home in the Muzarabani district, which is situated
along the Mozambique-Zimbabwe border, by their priest, Zvidzai
Muchengeti.
The five men had requested the priest to help them
clean their home of evil spirits, because it was causing mysterious
deaths in their family.
Responding to their request to perform a healing
ceremony, Kanyama had ordered his followers to dig a grave and bury him
alive because that was the way he summoned more healing powers to ward
off evil spirits. However, the plan backfired on the prophet when
instead of being resurrected as he supposed, the men dug up the grave
again to find him dead.
Kanyama helped to dig his own grave before praying
and jumping inside, Father Zvidzai, who has turned State witness, told
the High Court. He continued that after laying face down in the grave,
he ordered his followers to start covering him with soil.
“He pegged a grave-shaped pit in front of my hut and asked for help to dig the pit,” Zvidzai continued. “Deceased requested to be buried alive so that he would gain power to drive away the evil forces.”
Fearing for the life of the prophet as the men were
in the process of filling the grave, he requested the men to stop what
they were doing, Joseph Taderera told Justice Tagu.
However, they ignored his pleas when Kanyama urged
them to continue the process of burying him alive, stating that he would
rise from the grave unharmed.
“I warned the men about the danger of their
actions, but my advice fell on deaf ears because Kanyama shouted,
telling me that I am disturbing his angels, and urged them to continue
filling the grave, saying that he would later come out alive,” Taderera said.
Hell was let loose, last week, in Oto-Owori area, Ijanikin, Lagos State,
after a 16-year-old member of the famous Abogun family, made startling
confessions about how she was initiated into cultism and lesbianism by
the younger sister of her uncle’s wife. Parents of the victim who were
shocked by the confession reportedly alerted the police after she was
caught while attempting to sneak out of the house with some items
demanded by her cult members.
According to the victim (names withheld), who completed her secondary education in June,
“it was Tope who introduced me into lesbianism and cultism early last
year. On Friday, at about 7-8pm, I received a call from Tope that I
should bring my red jacket, which is the cult uniform and a jack-knife
for her.
While I was
attempting to sneak out of the house to meet her, I was accosted by my
brothers who checked the bag I was carrying and found the cult jacket
and the jack-knife. They called on my parents who demanded to know how I
got those items.
“Initially, she forced me into becoming her lesbian partner. She
threatened me that if I failed to do it, my life was at stake. When I
became her lover, we took a blood oath as Tope used a blade to cut my
hand and licked the blood. She also cut her hand and asked me to lick
the blood. She threatened that she must not see me with anyone, whether
male or female but she was free to go out with others as she has other
lovers. I have been her lover for over a year now and I became her lover
before I completed my secondary education.
“After Tope introduced me to lesbianism, she forced me into their
cult. The night I was initiated into Aiye cult, I was blindfolded.
Members of the cult gave me a gun to take an oath, declaring that I
would not reveal anything about the cult to anyone. They said if I ever
revealed anything about the cult to anyone, the same gun that I used to
take the oath would be used to take my life. Thereafter, about twenty of
the males present at the initiation slept with me one after the other.
“Two months ago, I stole my father’s N50, 000 and gave to her. There
was a time she gave me a gun to keep for her. I kept the gun in my
book-shelf for two days. She gave the gun to me because she said she
couldn’t take it home. Later, she collected it and gave it to a member
of the cult. I really don’t know what they use the weapon for. The red
jacket which is the cult uniform was given to me by Segun. He is the
leader of the Aiye cult. Since I became a member, I haven’t been able to
go anywhere with them because of how difficult it is for me to leave
home as my parents don’t allow me out after 6pm, and most of their
activities are usually in the night. There was a time they asked me to
trail my elder brother because they said he is arrogant.”
In her defence, 18-year-old Tope (surname withheld) who
initially confessed that she gave the gun to Kemi to keep because she
could not take it home, later denied the allegation that she is a
cultist.
According to her, “I have known Kemi from my childhood. I am a
salesgirl. I was arrested because the victim said I introduced her into
cultism and lesbianism but I am not a cultist, and she didn’t give me
money.
“I have not seen Kemi for more than a month now, since my birthday
which I celebrated on June 21. Although they fired a gun at my birthday
party, I don’t know who fired the gunshot but Samuel was with a gun
that night, and I know that Samuel is a cultist and he attended my
birthday party. It was a cult guy called Daddy that threatened that if I
refuse to join their cult, he will deal with me and shoot me in the
legs with a gun.”
Crime Alert gathered that young girls were recruited into
the cult group as they are used as armourers who keep the ammunition
for them any time they go for operation. It was learned that based on
the revelations, the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Ijanikin
Division of Lagos State, SP Robinson Eregare, swung into action and
succeeded in clamping down on all the suspected cultists connected with
the victim’s initiation. Among those arrested were Musa Kareem, Austine
Ebosoje and ten others.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations
Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu said Temitope Famati, an 18-year-old lesbian,
Ogunsan Kemi , another 20-year-old lesbian, Oseni Lukman, 30; Chidi
Okafor, 25; Musa Kareem, 26; Austine Ebozoje, a 19- year-old pirate,
Segun Sowumi, Olatokunbo Babatunde, 18; Gbelebu Samuel, 17 and Hussan
Azeez, 30, were among the cultists arrested so far.
