Stunning Photo: Asa Shows Off New Look

Asa Shows Off New LookTalented singer Asa showed off her new look in this photo taken by photographer and singer TY Bello.

TY shared the photo on Instagram and wrote:

“ASA: THE VOICE
I get really excited when ever I’m asked to shoot an artist.. I know I don’t know what I’m going to do … Not in the least … This makes me really … really nervous…and I love it.

I let the nerves take over till I can’t take it any more.. Then I pace around the studio to counter it… I do what ever I need to .. Till my mind gets from nerves… To peace and finally , but more importantly to PLAYFUL…then I LISTEN.I give myself permission to run with the thoughts that come to me .. No matter how silly or mundane they sound. I’ve learnt to trust the Voice.

With Asa .. The Words were ..FLY .., SOAR.., BLOOM. I knew the Voice was right when she started to dance to ‘No worries ‘ by @nosaalways . Or when she stood ghostly still … As if in anticipation of ‘something ‘when she wore more structured clothes.

Asa is a true artist. I know this.. I knew this the very first time I saw her eleven years ago..She’s the real deal.

It was a beautiful surprise for me looking back at her images as I edited ,when I realized that the flowers that I put behind her at the shoot to represent her blooming actually looked like wings. .. Like budding wings .. And sooo…. The Voice is right again..Asa is in bloom.., ready to take off. ….Yet again #tybellophotography #riasolanke #photostories #music #iconic vanity.”

Must Read: Celine Dion Reveals Husband’s Final Wish

Celine Dion’s husband, René Angélil is battling throat cancer and his final wish is to be with the singer when he passes away.

Recalling their conversation, she said: “I’ll say, ‘You’re scared? I understand. Talk to me about it.’
“And René says to me, ‘I want to die in your arms.’ OK, fine, I’ll be there, you’ll die in my arms.”“He can’t eat so I feed him,” she said. “He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day.”

However, on his instructions, she has returned to Las Vegas for her residency despite it “freaking” him out when she’s not at home with him.

She added to USA Today: “Don’t forget, he’s been the leader of the band all my life. So it [hacks] him off to not see me all day and over here working. But he wants me to do this, do the show, do the interviews. But he freaks when I’m not home with him, too …

“I didn’t want to be here at first, I don’t need it. Don’t get me wrong, I love singing for people, but I have priorities. But René really gave me a gift.

“All my grieving, it was during this last year. I think I’ve got this. For now. When it hits me, it’s going to hit me. But my biggest job is to tell my husband, we’re fine. I’ll take care of our kids. You’ll watch us from another spot.”

Drake and Serena Williams: Caught Making Out!!!

Rumors of Drake and Serena Williams hooking up have been circulating for months, and both parties have repeatedly insisted that they're just friends.

But if the tennis legend and the emotional emcee wanted to keep their relationship on the DL, they should've laid off the PDA, because TMZ has photos of Drake and Serena making out at a swanky Cincinnati restaurant.
Serena Williams at the ESPYs Hot Drake Photo
Drizzy and Serena hit up the high-end eatery Sotto to celebrate her victory at the WTA tournament in Cinci, and apparently, they couldn't wait for the check to arrive to start pawing at each other.

Of course, Serena is as famous for her curves as she is for her serves, and anyone who's seen Drake enjoy a lap dance from Nicki Minaj knows that the man is a fan of the booty.

But we're guessing their connection is about more than just off-court smashing.

Both Drake and Serena are at the top of their respective fields at the moment.

Serena is the number-one ranked female tennis player in the world, and Drake's been murdering rival Meek Mill in what might be the most lop-sided hip hop feud since the Insane Clown Posse tried to take on Eminem.

Basically, these two are all about dominance these days, so it seems only natural that they'd get together.

Winning championships is great and all, but it's about time Serena scored some love off the court.

Kim Kardashian: Krowned New Instagram Queen!

Kim Kardashian Jumps Beyonce, Becomes Most Followed Person on Instagram

Loader

According to the latest tally, Kim now has 44,005,604 followers on this social media platform.
With this milestone, she's surged past her occasional rival and taken over first place on Instagram, leaving Beyonce and her 43,935,648 followers in the dust.
The numbers are constantly changing, of course, but here's a look at the Top 10:
  1. Kim Kardashian - 44,005,604
  2. Beyoncé - 43,935,648
  3. Taylor Swift - 43,533,226
  4. Selena Gomez - 41,843,095
  5. Ariana Grande - 41,696,873
  6. Justin Bieber - 36,994,254
  7. Kendall Jenner - 35,388,483
  8. Kylie Jenner - 33,703,166
  9. Nicki Minaj - 32,278,123
  10. Khloé Kardashian - 30,522,261
Yes, four of the top 10 are members of the same family.

And Kendall Jenner is coming on strong, as she owns the most - liked photo in Instagram history.

Kardashian and Beyonce, meanwhile, has contrasting approaches to social media.

The latter posts infrequently, making it a special occasion when she shares pictures of herself and her family.

The former posts ALL THE FRICKIN TIME, typically sticking with scantily-clad selfies.

As you can see, though, Taylor Swift is coming on strong, using her own special strategy to surge toward the top: the more special concert guests she invites on stage, the more fan bases Taylor can latch on to.

Look out, Kim and Bey. Your reigns may be coming to an end.

OMG!!! Woman Carries her Dead Twins For 5 Days Because of Doctors Refusal to do an Evacuation

31-year-old Sambi Manyaka (pictured above) carried her dead children inside her for 5 days because doctors refused to remove them immediately. She was told by the doctors to return in five days to have the dead babies removed. One of the nurses told her to go home and bond with her children while they were still within her.

According to Daily Sun SA, Sambi was seven months pregnant when she went to Lebowakgomo Hospital in Limpopo for a check-up where she was told that her twins died in her womb. She claims the doctors told her to return in five days for the dead babies to be removed.
"After the doctors told me my twins were dead, I pleaded with them to operate. One of the nurses laughed at me and told me to go home and bond with my children while they were still with me,” she said.
After getting a second opinion from a private doctor, she went back to the hospital to beg staff to operate but she was told the hospital was full.
“I couldn’t sleep at night because I thought I would die as well,” she said.
Sambi was eventually operated last week at Tambo Memorial Hospital in Gauteng. She was discharged on Wednesday, August 19 and is doing well. Meanwhile, Health department spokesman Macks Lesufi confirmed that Sambi was seen at the hospital and left after being sent home.
“We condemn the allegations but we have to investigate to find out what really happened,” he said
He added that the Health department would look at her file and if any official had acted improperly, action would be taken against that person.

Police Present 6 Kidnap Suspects in Abuja

The Police on Monday presented six suspected child kidnappers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

 POLICE-LOGO
Presenting the suspects, the Force Spokesman, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu , said that the case was first reported to the police on June 25 on behalf of Musa Isaac and Musa Idris of Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

The suspects (names withheld) comprised three females and three males.

He said that the complainants accused the first and second suspects of kidnapping three children to an unknown destination under the pretext of buying biscuits for them.

The children (names withheld) aged 13, 3 and 2 years, respectively, were of the same parents.

Ojukwu said that following the complaints, the police investigated and came out with outstanding revelations.
He said that the investigation led to the arrest of two suspects in Edo whose confessions revealed how they kidnapped the three victims in Kafanchan.

The spokesman said that the 13 year-old was abandoned along the Abuja-Jos highway, while the other two were sold to a suspect who operated a private hospital in Ikeduru, Imo, for N600, 000.

He explained that the suspect had earlier bought a day-old male child from one of the suspects at N100, 000 in 2014 before she later supplied her two cousins for N600, 000.

Ojukwu said that the operator of the hospital admitted selling the child sold to her by the suspect to a Lagos resident at N300, 000 and buying five more children and selling them to some families.

He advised parents to ensure diligence in keeping watch over their children and wards.

“Parents are therefore advised to devise means of profiling relations and neighbours to avoid falling prey of their evil act,“he said.

He said that the police were working tirelessly to apprehend the Lagos resident.

Ojukwu advised persons wishing to adopt children to follow approved channels to avoid patronising illegal homes.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a medical doctor that worked at the hospital was among the suspects arrested.

Ojukwu said that the suspects would soon be charged to courts in Owerri and Kaduna State, respectively.

Electric Company Recruits 3,000

Power plant in Nigeria
The Kaduna Electric Distribution Company (KEDC), according to a NAN report, said it had recruited 3,000 workers in its renewed bid to shore up power supply to its 390,000 customers in Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna and Zamfara States.

The Managing Director of the firm, Mr Garba Haruna, disclosed this in Sokoto on Monday on the sideline of a two-day Induction of 1,020 of the new employees.

Haruna, represented by the Director, Engineering and Technical Services of the company, Mr Bello Musa, added that “such a boost of power supply is expected to create 15,000 indirect jobs in the four states.”

According to him, the new members of staff have qualifications ranging from diplomas to degrees and would be in charge of all the activities of the firm.

“The company is wholly private sector driven and anything short of hard work, dedication and commitment would not be condoned. The new workers must imbibe the company’s agenda of providing efficient, adequate and quality services to the customers. We will not rest on our oars to add value to our activities and eventually boost power supply to the customers in the areas”, he added.

Haruna further stated that the company would provide over 100,000 pre-payment meters to its customers annually.

Flood threaten Plateau community

Flooding in Lagos... According to a report published in Nature, a strong El Niño — signalled by the periodic warming of ocean-surface temperatures in the equatorial Pacific — can lead to heavy rain in parts of Africa and North America and drier-than-normal conditions in Australia, Indonesia and parts of India.
Flood caused by heavy rainfall is threatening to cut off Piapun community of Mikang Local Government of Plateau from other parts of the state, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Already, the bridge on Mbep-Piapun road, which linked the community with Shendam town and the rest of the state, is on the verge of being washed away by the flood.

Mr Daniel Nanlong, representing Mikang Constituency in the Plateau House of Assembly, on Monday appealed to state government for immediate intervention “before the situation gets worse.”

Nanlong, who conducted newsmen round the affected areas, said the bridge was no longer safe for use by vehicles.

“The only culvert sustaining the road is about to be cut off; if that happens, no vehicle will go to or come out of Piapun because it is the only road linking the community.

“Ten years ago the situation was not as bad as it is today and it is getting worse every day. If something urgent is not done, the agrarian community would be cut off from the rest of the state, “ he said.

According to him, the construction of the road was included in the 2007 budget of the state but nothing was done at the time.

The lawmaker appealed to the Plateau government to also consider the struction of Lifidi-Piapun-Garkawa-Tunkus road, to link all the four districts of the local government.

Nanlong said that when constructed, the road would boost social and economic activities in the area.

“The road will make all the districts in the local government accessible, farmers will be able to transport their produce to the markets without any hitch and that will boost their economic status.

“We pray that the road will be captured in this year’s budget and necessary action will follow so that the people will heave a sigh of relief, “ he said.

Photos: UN's Ban Ki-moon in Nigeria to Push Climate Accord

UN chief Ban Ki-moon began a two-day visit to Nigeria Sunday in the wake of a suspected Boko Haram ambush on the army chief, saying it was "a time of hope" despite the rise of extremism.
Combating Islamist violence is expected to be high on the agenda as the secretary-general holds talks with President Muhammadu Buhari, whose inauguration in May sparked a massive upsurge in jihadist attacks.

"Across our world, we see insecurity, inequality, growing divides," Ban told a private meeting of state governors in Abuja, according to a UN statement.

"Here in Nigeria, you know the challenges all too well –- including the rise of extremism and the lack of equal opportunity.

"I know this is a deep and vital challenge in particular for the governors of the northeast... This is also a time of hope. I want to commend you and all of Nigeria's leaders for the peaceful democratic transition of power."
Ban touched down at Abuja's international airport just hours after the military revealed Boko Haram fighters had ambushed a convoy carrying Nigeria's army chief-of-staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.

The senior officer, who was unharmed, was visiting troops Saturday when insurgents attacked in Faljari village, 45 kilometres (28 miles) east of Borno State capital Maiduguri, army spokesman Sani Usman said in a statement.

"The terrorists encountered an overwhelming firepower from the troops in which 10 of them were killed. The troops captured five terrorists," he said.

"During the encounter, sadly, we lost a soldier, while an officer and four soldiers sustained gunshot wounds."
Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks in Borno and two neighbouring states in its northeastern heartland since Buhari came to power in May.

The Islamists have also carried out deadly ambushes across Nigeria's borders and in recent weeks suicide bombers, many of them women, have staged several attacks in Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad.
The fresh wave of violence has claimed more than 1,000 lives over the last three months, dealing a setback to a four-country offensive launched in February that had chalked up a number of victories against the jihadists.

An 8,700-strong Multi-National Joint Task Force, drawing in Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin, is expected to go into action soon.

Military officials have said it will be more effective than the current alliance in the battle to end Boko Haram's six-year insurgency, which has claimed at least 15,000 lives.

"This a crucial moment for Nigeria," said Ban, on his second visit to Africa's largest economy since taking office in 2007.

"You face many serious challenges but you have also taken a hugely important step to move forward in a way that can respond to the aspirations of the country's people."

Before his departure the UN chief will lay a wreath to commemorate the fourth anniversary of a Boko Haram bombing at Abuja's United Nations House, the headquarters for around 400 UN employees, that left 21 dead in June 2011.

He is also due to dine with captains of industry and discuss "democracy, human rights and countering violent extremism" in a meeting at the foreign ministry.

Ban last visited Nigeria in May 2011 to discuss the crises in southern Sudan and Libya with then leader Goodluck Jonathan.

Buhari, who came to power on May 29 vowing to destroy Boko Haram, replaced his military leaders earlier in August, ordering his new chiefs-of-staff to end the insurgency within three months.

The military under Jonathan was heavily criticized for poor handling of the insurgency and its failure to free more than 200 schoolgirls abducted from the northeastern town of Chibok in April last year.

Ban is due to head to France late on Monday to discuss preparations for a major climate change conference to be held in Paris in December.

NAF Destroys Two Trailers Conveying Logistics to Boko Haram Fighters

NAF destroys two trailers conveying logistics to Boko Haram fighters
The renewed military offensive against Boko Haram, has continued to yield results, as the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) last night, said it intercepted and destroyed two trailers suspected to be conveying logistic support to the fighters.

A statement signed by the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, said the armed reconnaissance mission, was commanded by the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

The statement said Abubakar coordinated the various operations that provided air cover to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, while advancing with his ground troops from Dikwa to Gamboru-Ngala in Borno State.

“Two trailers suspected to be carrying logistics support to members of the Boko Haram Terrorist sect have been intercepted and destroyed by the Nigerian Air Force Agusta helicopter on armed reconnaissance mission around the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

“The trailers were covered and parked at different locations in the bush around the border town of Belel.

The recent air operation against the Boko Hara sect was commanded by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar from NAF reconnaissance aircraft, the King Air 350i.

“The CAS coordinated the various NAF platforms involved in the operation to provide close air support to ground forces, led by the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, as they advance from Dikwa to Gamboru Ngala,” the statement said.

It added that: “NAF 260, a Mi-24V attack helicopter was hit during the operation. One of the main rotor blades was hit and damaged, however, the pilot was able to successfully fly the helicopter back to base to land. The affected aircraft has since been repaired and is back to the theater of operation.”

Landlord’s Daughter Bite Off Tenant’s Ear Over N1,500 Electricity Bill In Edo

A middle-aged lady, Miss Faith Idehen, has been rushed to the Central Hospital Benin City, Edo State after sustaining a deep ear bite during a fight with the daughter of her landlord in the state. Idehen, aged 23 years and a hairdresser at the Oba Market located in the heart of Benin City, had a raw deal with her landlord’s daughter simply identified as Vivian, who is a single mother of two, over delayed payment of N1, 500 electricity bill. New Telegraph reports:
Investigation revealed Friday that the victim along with her mother and other siblings had occupied the two bedroom apartment belonging to the landlord at No: 2 Jesus Powerlane Off Ojo Street Ugbiyoko, when Vivian engaged her in a war of words over the matter. Idehen was said to have left the compound in a commercial bus for her place of work at the Oba Market but was trailed behind by Vivian who swooped on her at the popular Yanga Market within the area, an action that resulted in a fierce fight that drew a large crowd of traders and passersby.
It was gathered that the landlord’s daughter demanded for the monthly electricity bill of N1, 500 from the tenant who pleaded with her for understanding after the later had paid N1,000 deposit with a promise to pay the balance of N500 when she returns back from work later in the day but the landlord’s daughter refused to listen.
The angered Vivian engaged her unsuspecting tenant in a fight and bit off Faith’s left ear which made her to faint in the process. It took the intervention of sympathizers for the younger hairdresser to gain consciousness even as she bled profusely and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
However, policemen attached to Oba Market Police Station were quickly invited who also arrested the landlord’s daughter. Narrating her ordeal, Idehen said: “I didn’t know that I was being trailed even after I pleaded with her that I will pay the balance of N500 when I return from work. The moment I alighted from the bus I heard someone calling Faith, Faith and immediately I turned, behold it was Vivian. She grabbed my hair and started beating me and before I knew what happened I saw my ear dangling with blood gushing out. I was later rescued and rushed to the Central hospital where it was later stitched.”

Man Rapes Own Daughters, Step-Daughter In Lekki (Pictured)

The police in Lagos have arrested a man, Ajiboye Oluwaseyi, for allegedly raping his two daughters ─ a six-year-old and a four-year-old ─ and his stepdaughter, 15, in the Lekki area of the state.

Our correspondent gathered that 37-year-old Oluwaseyi, who hails from Ondo State, was arrested on Wednesday, August 19, after his wife reported the matter to the police.

It was learnt that Oluwaseyi, who worked as a Lotto agent, had separated from his wife in December 2014.

He was said to have taken the two girls from his wife, leaving her with a baby (the third child).

Our correspondent gathered that Oluwaseyi, after sending the wife packing, allegedly convinced his stepdaughter, Simbi (pseudonym) to stay with him.

It was learnt that Simbi had allegedly been raped many times before she opened up to a neighbour, who brought the matter to the attention of the mother.

Our correspondent learnt that Olwaseyi’s wife went to a non-governmental organisation to report the sexual abuse of her daughter.

The police were subsequently informed and they arrested Oluwaseyi. They also took the three girls for medical tests.

Our correspondent gathered that the medical tests showed that Simbi had been raped on several occasions, while Oluwaseyi’s two daughters had also been defiled.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, the suspect’s wife said she left her husband to avoid premature death.

She added that Oluwaseyi refused her access to her daughters until the NGO and the police got involved.

She said, “We were staying together in the Lekki Phase 1 area. My 15-year-old daughter, whom I had for another man, and the two daughters I have for Oluwaseyi were living with us until December.

“We had a quarrel and Oluwaseyi threatened to kill me. He sent me out.

“Family members, including his father, appealed to him to reconcile with me, but he refused. He also refused to allow me to see my daughters.

“When I heard about the rape, I confronted him on the matter. He boasted that nothing would happen to him. He broke bottles, and said he would kill me. Later on when I sat my first daughter down, she confessed to me that she was truly raped, and that it had occurred on several occasions.

“That was why I took the matter to the government, so that they would help me to check Oluwaseyi’s excesses.”

Our correspondent gathered that the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, provided medical attention, through the Mirabel Centre, to the three girls, and ensured that the police got the suspect arrested.

A police source told PUNCH Metro that the girls were examined at the centre, where they were confirmed to have been defiled.

He said, “The woman initially left with the teenager and the two girls she has for Oluwaseyi in December, 2014. The suspect, however, trailed her and forcefully took the girls, threatening to take her life if she refused.

“The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, August 19, in the family’s Lekki apartment, while his daughters were also taken to the centre for tests. It was confirmed that they had been defiled. The two of them are in Primary 3 and Primary 1 respectively.”

Our correspondent learnt that the girls were in a good condition, and were currently living with their mother.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Patricia Amadin, confirmed the incident.

She added that Oluwaseyi had been arrested.

Caitlyn Jenner: Ditched By the Kardashians, Feuding With Kris Jenner AGAIN?

We learned that the reality star may be facing jail time as a result of the fatal car accident she allegedly caused back in February.

Of course, throughout the many struggles she's endured over the past year, Caitlyn has repeatedly claimed that the support of her family is the most important thing in her life.

While we're sure her daughters and stepdaughters are still there for Caitlyn in spirit, they're not as present in her life as they once were, as evidenced by the fact that the whole family is currently vacationing in St. Bart's - without Caitlyn.
 Caitlyn Looking Beautiful
Of course, separate family vacations are the norm following any divorce, but insiders say the Kardashian clan had vowed to buck the trend and keep Caitlyn in their lives in every way.

That all changed with the start of the ongoing Caitlyn and Kris feud.

Kris and Caitlyn met for the first time last month, and it was rumored that they had buried the hatchet. Now, for reasons that no one quite understands, the bad blood is at an all-time high, and Kris reportedly insisted that Caitlyn not be invited to St. Bart's.

"Caitlyn is really bummed right now because this is the first big family trip that they all went on in over 20 years that she was not a part of" an insider close to the family tells Radar Online.

"There is more animosity than ever before between Caitlyn and her ex Kris Jenner...Caitlyn was not surprised at all by not being invited on the family trip to St. Bart's. But it really did hurt her that she wasn't included.

"No one even told Caitlyn that her daughters Kylie and Kendall were going on the trip. It's just another reminder that Cailtlyn has been cut out of the girls' lives, and it really stings."
