Click for Full Image Size
He was known for his charisma, courage, stagemanship, scintillating voice and captivating performance on the stage.

He stole many peoples’ hearts whenever he handled the microphone as many could not but danced to his musical dispositions and nodded affirmatively to his lyrical dexterity during his days as a contestant at the MTN Project Fame.

The charming guy, Marvelous Odiete, the first runner-up of the most watched music reality show MTNPF Season 5, who many of his fans thought has lost focus, courage and much celebrated charisma that woo many of them to his side in those days, has bounced back.

Marvelous was believed to have gone into oblivion because his much anticipated magical emergence into the music industry hasn’t gone beyond his charming displays during the competition.

Has he abandoned music or was he disappointed for being pronounced the first runner-up of the edition?

In a bid to get in touch with Marvelous and bring him back to his fans, made efforts to get in touch with him and we finally located his office, Blueprint Pictures, located on Ogunlana Drive, Surulere and the guy, in his usual smiles, welcomed our reporter into his beautiful office that can be qualified as Marvelous world.

After the much gist about his silence, wife and beautiful daughter, he opened-up on what life has taught him and his answers to many unasked questions.

How has life been treating you?

Life has been very sweet. After Project Fame, I got married and I've been doing videos, musical concerts. Life has been very good.

After MTN Project Fame, you went underground. What went wrong?

I never abandoned music and let me correct this impression that after Project Fame I abandoned music because I did not come first. Number one, I am very glad to come out with the position of first runner-up in the competition; I didn't feel discouraged and my confidence is still intact.

After the show, I went into the studio and recorded a single, and I'm still recording more, to be packaged in a way my fans will love. Secondly, my fans will soon hear from me, good music, and nice lyrics in an album that will beat their imaginations. I’m still in the entertainment industry and everyone that has been supporting me from the beginning will get something back for his or her undying support.

If you had emerged winner of MTN Project Fame 5, would it have been this way?

I don't want to use that word 'abandon'. It’s a very big word so that it won't hurt the feeling of my fans. If you follow the trend of all previous Project Fame winners, they are entitled to a recording deal and lots more. If I had won, I would have been very busy doing all that but I am not and really, I have had ample time for my business. I would have loved to win but if you go back to my diary session, a day or two before the end of the session, they asked me a question if I am expecting myself to be a winner and I answered ‘No’ because the truth is I was at that time thinking of other things like being the oldest in the house and truly yes, I know I want to do music but I wanted to do some other things as well.

Being a winner will restrict me but one thing I am always thankful for is the fact that I got to the final and was the first runner-up. I'm very thankful to God for that opportunity and I will forever be grateful for the platform. That alone, for me, is more than being the first. So if I were to be the first, I will be too occupied to think of marriage and settling down as at the time I did and I won’t be able to venture into my own business. Can you now imagine? I like it as it is; it’s working out for me perfectly.

Many of your female fans were shocked to the bone when they heard of your wedding few days after the reality show? Was this in the pipeline before or during your stay in the house of Project Fame?

Well, I didn't disappoint anybody by being married nor did I promise any lady marriage after Project Fame. I have lost contact with my wife for over 25 years and somehow fate brought us together. I saw her again and it just happened and we got married. So for the people, who are heartbroken, I am sorry! The most important thing is that Marvelous has not left the scene; I'm still in the industry working and soon they will hear from me.
 Click for Full Image Size
Before you decided to put in for Project Fame, what did you have in mind that after the show, ‘I will be doing’?

One of the reasons why I went for Project Fame was because I was losing confidence in myself and I needed to be sure if I was still a performer, so I said, ‘Let me try maybe people will get to see me and judge If I’m really a good performer.’ It was a good platform to help my ability as a musician.

After you left the academy and went into the main industry with the platform MTN Project Fame gave you, which already established your name and your face in the entertainment scene; why have you decided not to do music despite the fame?

No…, I didn’t decide to leave music. At least, I still perform in some gigs and other events like that.

But people don't get much of you at any events?

Yes I know! I still perform, even when I'm online, people chatting with me ask, ‘When is your album coming out?’ and what I keep telling them is, ‘I'm working on it … you will hear from me soon.’

I want to use this medium to tell everybody out there that Marvelous did not abandon them. I'm coming out with something very soon.

But if you are going to define music in your own way, how will you define it?

Music is a sweet sound, all sorts of music genre; we have Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Hip Hop, Jazz and others. It’s all sweet sound that appeals to your inner self that's called music. It motivates and inspires.

Why did you choose music?

I grew up in a family where music is adorned. My dad is a Bishop and also a musician; he has four albums to his credit. I have watched my dad sung several times and I have seen my parents perform in church. My passion for music is inherited from the family.
Though, I started out in the children choir in the church and graduated to the adult choir. I started doing music by playing instruments. I have been in a music circle for a very long time.
Click for Full Image SizeStarting your musical background from church to the general music, what type of music do you want to do?

Starting my musical background as a church choir doesn't change my perspective on my choice of music; I went into the reality show, Project Fame to be seen, to be heard, to get the name and brand for my musical career.

Choosing the type of music I will love to do from the different genres of music; I will like to focus more on gospel music, because I think it hasn't been really explored. It hasn't been active as it ought to be. My definite route will be to explore gospel music.

Was the single you recorded a gospel?

No, it’s not a gospel song; it’s a general song.

But why; since you chose to be a gospel singer?

‘The Lady’ is not a gospel music. One thing we must understand is what the word "Gospel" really means? It means good news. So if you are preaching message of love, that's good news. You are not preaching or promoting drugs, nakedness, or alcoholism. If you are preaching kindness, that's good news, so when you say gospel, it does not at all time need to be Jesus, God, Father, or Holy Spirit come down. No, that's just one side of the gospel, even Jesus Christ preached about love. He said, ‘It’s the greatest gift of all.’ The single I dropped, 'Lady', was talking about celebrating the women. Every man should celebrate his wife because the secret behind every successful man, if you dig down, is the woman. So I decided to celebrate the wife I have not married then.

Did you dedicate the single to her or what?

No, I wrote that song like three years ago and I wasn't even in love with anybody then. I just did it; looking at my parents; the way they live, how my mum loves my dad, how my dad loves my mum and how they appreciate each other. Things like that inspired me to write that song.

How have you been coping with marriage?

In every relationship; marriage, work, or business, there are challenges, there are ups and down, it’s just how you get to learn more of each other that builds your understanding and helps you overcome the challenges. If you are told, ‘For better, or worse,’ and your experience tends towards worse than better; what are you going to do, are you going to kill yourself? Is she going to suffocate you in bed? Will she disrespect you? Are you going to divorce her? Your wife is your help meet, that's what the Bible says, you should be there for each other, support each other, you must not always agree on everything but there should always be a point where you will likely compromise sometimes. That's what marriage is all about. It’s an interesting thing. Marriage is a school you cannot graduate from, you just keep learning and learning and gaining more experience.Click for Full Image SizeHow much do you love your wife?

Oh, I love my wife so much. I've loved her since I was 9 years old when we first met. That time, we just came to Lagos. I just loved her from inception. We were family friends. My dad came one day and it was like, ‘Oh let's go to my friend’s house,’ and that was the second time we met again and I just liked her.

Considering your diversification from music; what type of business are you doing now and for how long have you been doing it?

The business has been around for a while; my wife and I are working together. We distribute movies and there is also an entertainment side of the company. The company is called Blueprint Pictures, and the entertainment aspect of the company is a digital recording studio with which we plan to venture into artistes’ management and promotion.

What type of distribution do you do?

We distribute foreign music and movies. We also take time to work with those movie producers who stand out. We don't work with producers that produce movies every week. We work with people with unmatched track records of excellence. We have distributed the award winning movies like 'Jenifa' of Funke Akindele and Kunle Afolayan’s 'Phone Swap'.

We encourage excellence. Many people come here with all sorts of movies and after we censored them, they don't live up to standard. Though the movie industry is growing rapidly but we need to up the game in order to meet up with an international standard.

Did you consider the menace of piracy before going into the business?

Like I always say to people in the movie industry, piracy is a child of the industry, there is nothing anybody can do about it for now. We try as much as possible to kick against piracy but we couldn't make it. Even if we overwhelm piracy, we can’t eradicate it. I believe it is very hard to control from only one angle; for example, if you capture certain scenes as a witness or crew member during a recording session in a movie or if anyone is found recording in a cinema, that is piracy but if you catch anyone selling on the street, how do you tag him or her with piracy? I believe there are some bodies that have been empowered to tackle piracy, like the anti-piracy body and censor board.Click for Full Image Size

How do you feel with the platform MTN Project Fame gave you?

Oh! Thank you for that question. They invested so much money in discovering latent talents, just roaming about the streets. I want to thank MTN project fame for giving me that rare opportunity.

What’s your notion about the entertainment industry?

We can do better in the industry. I'm looking forward to when Nigeria musicians will be picking up Grammys. I am looking forward to that day because right now we are on the map but we can do better, and so we should keep working harder.

Bizzare story right here..These 28 year old twins Anna and Lucy DeCinque, born just one minute apart share everything in their life - a job, a car, a Facebook account and even their boyfriend.
As if being twins wasn't enough, they decided to undergo cosmetic surgery to erase any tiny differences in them
They have had identical procedures including lip fillers, breast implants and fake eyebrows and eyelashed - at a cost of £130,000.

Anna and Lucy, who live at home with their mother, also share a boyfriend, which they believe is a perfect situation for a relationship.

Anna said:
'We’re dating one boy at the moment. There are three people in our relationship. We’re sharing.'
Lucy added: 'It’s not really weird to us. We have one boyfriend and all three of us share the same bed. For guys, in their hearts and dreams, they want two girlfriends.
'We have the same taste in everything, so obviously we’re going to like the same boy too. We’re all together when we have sex, and if we like the same guy, so be it. Every date had to be a double date. It’s always double or nothing.'

Lucy said:
'Our mum has always been able to tell us apart. But, our dad, not so much. He would say, "Which one are you?"''We’ve had fun, especially when we were younger. We would swap boyfriends, if we were bored.
'Like, even on the telephone, if I didn’t want to talk to my boyfriend, Anna would take the phone and pretend to be me. We would play games like that, and the other person never realized. We’ve settled down a bit now.'

Here's what an Abuja Court Did To Two Women For Fighting Over A Man. -

Two women, Franca James and Comfort John, were on Monday sentenced to two weeks in prison by a Senior Magistrates' court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, for fighting over a man.

James, 33, of Xtracare, Mpape, and John,35, of Karimo, both in Abuja, were charged with disturbing public peace.
The Magistrate, Celestine Odo, sentenced the women after they pleaded guilty to fighting over a man.
The magistrate, however, gave them an option of fine of N2,000 each, and advised them to desist from fighting.

He said that the court was lenient on them because they were first time offenders and had shown remorse over their act.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Abdullahi Adamu, had earlier told the court that an Anti Robbery Patrol team attached to the Divisional Police Station, Wuse Zone 3 in Abuja, arrested the two women on April 29, at about 11 p.m.
The prosecutor said that the women were arrested near Ministry of Agriculture Quarters in Wuse Zone 4,
Abuja, as they engaged in violent fight over a man.

'How Gospel Songs Saved My Life' - Kidnap Survivor Recounts Ordeal In Kidnapper's Den

A 45-year-old trader, Elizabeth Otokiri, who was reportedly kidnapped and later released, has said she was saved by constantly singing gospel songs.
 photo
Elizabeth was kidnapped with two others along Ibuso-Ogwashi Uku road, Delta State by a gang of kidnappers but was released three days later.
The police also rescued the other two and arrested three members of the kidnap gang who are currently being detained by the police at the state CID in Asaba.
Narrating her experience, the kidnapped woman said on that fateful day, she was returning from a church programme when she was kidnapped, blindfolded and taken to an unknown destination.
Elizabeth stated that she started singing gospel songs in the thick forest where she was kept.
According to her, the kidnappers had asked for a ransom of N40 million which her children were unable to raise and they had planned to use her blood for ritual sacrifice.
She stated that she was not moved by their threats of killing her as she kept on singing gospel songs and they were later forced to let her go as they could not stand her religious attitude.
"I sang melodious songs to God and they felt threatened by my songs and one of them who brought bread for me to eat said they were tired of this ‘holy holy woman," she said.

I'm a young lady, 25 years old. Growing a good relationship has been a daunting challenge for me, it just won't last. Sometimes my fellow ladies take him from me or lack of sex causes our separation even after letting him know from the beginning that I am totally for a no sex before marriage relationship. At first they would accept only to walk out when I have fallen in love.
Some of these men have been good to me but sex is the only barrier. Some said I'm too rigid. I have really worked on my character because at some point I thought I was lacking some good morals.
My friends always advice me that sex keeps relationship going. But I want to know, can't one have a healthy relationship without sex? As a virgin, if I desire for a man's affection, is it wrong?

Breaking News: Nigeria's Provisional Squad For World Is Ready-Keshi

After weeks of speculations over Nigeria's provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup holding in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July, 2014, Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, and the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), have said they are ready to release the squad.

According to THISDAY report, Keshi and the NFF are expected to reach a truce and name Nigeria's provisional squad to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this afternoon in Abuja.
Football pundits are of the opinion that disagreement led to the delay in naming the initial squad of 38 players two weeks ago despite denials from both the coach and the technical committee members of NFF.
Latest reports suggest that all appears to be okay now after the intervention of some stakeholders to save Nigeria's image after a Singaporean alleged that he helped the country to gain qualification for the football show piece four years ago.
photo
Coach Keshi, right, and John Mikel Obi are integral parts of Super Eagles

On the provisional squad, coach Keshi, through the Spokesman of the Eagles, Ben Alaiya, reportedly said last night that nobody can force him to include any player(s) he did not want in his team.
"The NFF is our parent body and should be concerned about team composition for the World Cup, because the body is made up of well-meaning Nigerians, but to be honest to Nigerians nobody in the NFF has come to me to say pick player A or B.
"They respect my job as the Head Coach and I respect them as my employers and there is no clash of interest," insisted the former Togo and Mali gaffer fondly called the Big Boss in his days as Nigerian captain.
It could be recalled that the media has been awash recently with reports credited to the ex-NNB and Eagles midfielder, Edema Fuludu, that Keshi was under great pressure to include certain players in his squad to Brazil.
Some of the players expected to be in the team when it is released include: Vincent Enyeama, Kenneth Omeruo, Godfrey Oboabona, Efe Ambrose, John Obi Mikel, Onazi, Emmanuel Emmenike, and Elderson Echiejile.
As at the time of writing this report, Nigerian are still debating whether the like of Chigozie Agbim, Ikechukwu Uche, Osaze Odemwingie and Chinedu Obasi would be included in the provisional list.

What's your take on this?

Pistorius' Housekeeper Was Inside Home During Shooting

Pistorius' Housekeeper Was Inside Home During  …
Someone else was inside Oscar Pistorius' home in Pretoria, South Africa, the night the athlete shot his girlfriend to death -- his longtime housekeeper, Frank Chiziweni.

Chiziweni was sleeping in his room off from Pistorius’ kitchen on Valentine’s Day 2013. His presence was revealed in court Monday, when a neighbor testified that Chiziweni greeted her at the home. In the 16 months since the shooting, it was believed that only Pistorius and victim Reeva Steenkamp were in the residence.

The defense and prosecution have declined to call Chiziweni, a Malawian, to the stand. They believe he wouldn’t have said anything. Following the shooting, he told police that he “heard nothing” that night, sleeping through what witnesses who lived 200 yards away described as “bloodcurdling” screams.

Pistorius’ neighbors demonstrated those screams in court today. Witnesses Rita Motshuane and Eontle Hillary Nhlengethwa mimicked the high-pitched, almost howling cries they heard after Pistorius shot his girlfriend to death.
Pistorius is accused of premeditated murder in Steenkamp’s death, but he argued he mistook her for an intruder.

None of the witnesses called today heard a female scream, a stark contrast to the state’s witnesses, who testified about hearing screams and a woman’s voice.

Nhlengethwa’s husband, Mike Nhlengethwa, testified that Pistorius introduced Steenkamp to him as his fiancee, a meeting that occurred days before the shooting. When Nhlengethwa went to shake Steenkamp’s hand, she instead opened her arms and hugged him.

Nhlengethwa said Pistorius, with whom he shared a passion for cars, told him he wanted to move from Pretoria to Johannesburg, South Africa, to be with Steenkamp, a model and reality TV star.
Nhlengethwa was sad about the prospect of his neighbor moving away, but it was worth it for a woman like Steenkamp, he said.

The trial was adjourned to Thursday, as elections are scheduled for Wednesday in South Africa. Defense attorney Barry Roux apologized for not having more witnesses available to call today, but he reassured the court that it will not interfere with the trial’s projected time frame. Roux is confident that he will be able to end his case by next Tuesday, May 13. (Yahoo News)

Britain's Vainest Man has Spent over N25m Just on his Looks - See Photo

Personal trainer, Matt Dunford, proudly describes himself as 'Britain's vainest man', says he began his grooming regime aged 19, and has spent £100,000 on looking good. Dunford takes an hour to get ready for a night out, he once spent seven hours just preening himself.
And according to him, his hard work has paid off - he has never been turned down by a woman, has slept with more than 50 women, been on over 100 dates and has to fend off hordes of potential dates every time he goes out!

Here's what Dunford to Mailonline:
'I'm Britain's vainest man and I'm proud of it. Some people think I'm arrogant and I've had men start fights with me on nights out - but they're just jealous. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look good. I have been gifted with good genes and it's meant I've never suffered with self-confidence issues.
Sometimes I'm out and I just want to have a quiet night and I'll be hounded by women
grabbing my bum. I can't really complain but it does get tiring. Past girlfriends have been really jealous of the female attention I get. There have even been Facebook spats between girls who want to be with me - it's crazy.'
Despite spending a small fortune on his looks, Matt insists it is money well spent, and an investment in his future.
'My whole life and career is based around my looks - whether that be stripping, modeling or working as a personal trainer. I have to look good for the audience and my clients. I'm a walking advertisement for my services and my appearance and how I hold myself is very important. I know I make money and get business based on my looks, but I'd be mad not to take advantage of being so attractive.

Brendan Rodgers's side yesterday blew a strong three-nil lead to draw 3-3 away at Crystal Palace.

The red came out strong as Joe Allen got of the mark for Liverpool with his first goal in the league and then SAS (Suarez and Sturridge) both scored to put the Reds three goals up as they chase Manchester City's huge goal gap.

But things began to go south for Liverpool at the 79th minute when Delaney's 25-yard shot deflected, and passed Mignolet.
Immediately after that Crystal Palace began mounting on the pressure on a tired Liverpool side, who were now in panic mode.
Dwight Gayle scored two minutes after Delaney's shot when Bolasie gave him a nice assist and then two minutes from the end Glenn Murray controlled a long ball to Gayle's path and the striker took his time to slot the ball well beyond Mignolet.
As Palace players celebrated, Liverpool players looked sad, as it dawned on them they might have just blown away their chance for a Premier League title.
Liverpool lead the table with 81 points with one game to go, City however have 80 points with two games to go.
