El-Rufai Bans Hawking, Begging In Kaduna

Following Tuesday’s bomb blast at Sabon-gari Local Government Area, Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has banned street begging and hawking in order to enhance security.

In a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan, all beggars and hawkers are to stay off the streets until further notice.

It read further: “Any beggar or hawker found on the streets will be arrested, until these measures are relaxed.”

In addition to the banning of hawkers and beggars, El-Rufai equally reiterated the ban on commercial motorcycle in the state, stressing that “the law will be strictly enforced in this regard.”

The Governor urged all citizens to report all suspicious persons and movements to the security agencies.

He also commended the people of the state for promptly embracing the crucial necessity of watchful vigilance and attention to security.
