The corpse of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief
Theodore Ezeobi, who died about four months ago was reportedly stolen
from the mortuary of Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital in Enugu, on
Wednesday, July 30.
A close hospital source claimed that the mortician discovered that
the mortuary had been burgled when he went to deposit another corpse
shortly after midnight. He was said to have a raised an alarm after he
conducted a check and discovered that one of the corpses in his care had
been removed. After which he informed the bereaved family of the
development.
According to the daughter of the deceased, Chinelo Ezeobi, who spoke
to Daily Sun on phone, the family was still in shock over the
disappearance of the corpse. She said unknown persons broke into the
mortuary and took away the corpse.
She added that the family had been having issues with the first son over the burial.
It was gathered that before the sudden disappearance of the corpse,
the family of the deceased had been having issues over his burial. The
first son, Theodore (Jnr) was said to be in disagreement with his mother
and other siblings.
Following the development, the hospital mortician, some security men
from the hospital and some top management staff were taken to the
Central Police Station in Enugu for questioning. (naij.com)
