Gunmen Killed 2 Policemen, Woman, Snatched Millions Of Naira

Two policemen were shot dead allegedly by a group of unidentified and heavily armed men who attacked a new generation bank located inside the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, UNEC, at the weekend.

According to the information provided by one of the eyewitnesses, the robbers invaded the building in the middle of the night and shot the two policemen without resistance. One of the victims died instantly, while the second policeman died on the way to a local hospital.
Thereafter they ordered the other guards into the security room and tied them. As there were no one to resist they quickly carted away millions of naira from the bank’s ATM and successfully escaped from the scene.
It was gathered that besides two policemen a girlfriend of one of them was also killed. The attackers are believed to be the same who organized robbery attack on a nearby bank one month ago.
As the incident is yet to be investigated, the public relations officer of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, advised residents to stay calm and report about any suspicious characters or items in the state.
