Unknown gunmen, yesterday killed a business identifed as Chief Bright Igwegbu at Mile Two area of Lagos.
The deceased popularly known as Aku or Bruzel, who hailed from Imo State, was set to visit his family based in Houston, Texas next week before he was shot in the neck and head by the gunmen who emerged from nowhere while driving in his ML 450 Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV.
It was gathered that the graduate of Economics from Ogun State University before his untimely death had on two occasions, had close shave with death. The first incident, according to family sources, occurred six weeks ago after some gunmen suspected to be robbers attempted to attack him, but he managed to escape.
The second incident occurred three weeks ago after he was involved in a fatal motor accident.
Family sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity said: “Three weeks ago, he went to a pharmacy in Festac Town to get some drugs and was inside his car when all of a sudden, a car hit his vehicle. He escaped death by the whiskers and that was the second time.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide has not yet made any comments but Police sources,however said that some arrests had been made, adding that it was too early to give details of the incident as investigation was on-going. (Naij.com)
