Mob Sets 'Lunatic' Turned Kidnapper Ablaze In Ondo (Photo)

A suspected kidnapper who pretended to be a lunatic was yesterday set ablaze by angry youths for attempting to kidnap a 7-year-old primary school pupil in Ondo town, Ondo State.

                                                 The kidnapper set ablaze

The middle aged woman, popularly called 'Ayababa' was usually found by residents at a dump site along Oluseyi Street in the state at a particular day of the week, unknown to them that she was a kidnapper.
On the day of the incident, at about 7.30a.m., she was seen by some youths trying to drag the little boy who was on his way to school into an uncompleted building while the boy was screaming for help.
It was the boy's shout for help that attracted the youths who reportedly confronted the woman and when she was questioned, she couldn't give a favourable answer. The woman was said to have fixed expensive finger nails and had artificial hair on. The youths also discovered that the woman was a sane person who had been pretending all along.
Nokia and Blackberry handsets were also recovered from her handbag.
She was said to have confessed that she used to come from Osogbo in Osun State thrice a month for the kidnap business, adding that she was not the only one in the business. She acted as a mad woman during the day while scouting for her victims and at night go after her targets.
Infuriated by these discoveries, the youths pounced on the woman, poured petrol on her and set her ablaze.
The state police image maker, Wole Ogodo, could not be reached on phone for confirmation.
