The anti-bomb squads have sealed major markets in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to search for any explosive devices.
Police
officers from the FCT Command on Tuesday barricaded the popular Wuse
and Garki Ultra-Modern Markets in the FCT to prevent traders from
gaining entrance as the anti-bomb squad appeared to check the markets.
At
the time of the report, traders have gathered outside the markets
waiting to see whether the markets would be re-opened for business.
According
to the FCT police spokesman, Altine Daniel, who commented the matter
during phone interview, the temporary closure was due to intelligence
report received by the police.
He said that the markets would be
opened as soon as men of the anti-bomb squad had finished sweeping the
markets trying to search of any explosive devices.
