Eid-El-Fitr: FG declares Friday July 17 & Monday July 20 as public holidays for Muslim celebration

In order to mark the Id-El-Fitr celebration, the federal government has declared Friday 17th and Monday 20th July, 2015 public holidays.

 

The announcement was made by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, on behalf of the Federal Government.

According to reports, Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians were encouraged to 'extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which include love, peace and sacrifice for the development of the nation.'

Mr. Magaji also made an appeal to Nigerians to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in his determination and sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and virile nation.

The Perm. Sec then advised all Nigerians, both at home and abroad to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation before he wished Nigerians a happy and joyous Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
