In order to mark the Id-El-Fitr celebration, the federal government has declared Friday 17th and Monday 20th July, 2015 public holidays.
The announcement was made by the permanent secretary,
Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, on behalf of the Federal
Government.
According to reports, Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians
were encouraged to 'extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which
include love, peace and sacrifice for the development of the nation.'
Mr. Magaji also made an appeal to Nigerians to
support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in his
determination and sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united
and virile nation.
The Perm. Sec then advised all Nigerians, both at
home and abroad to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across
the nation before he wished Nigerians a happy and joyous Eid-El-Fitr
celebration.
