President Muhammadu Buhari has held a closed-door meeting with governor-members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting reportedly took place at about 11pm on
Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential
Villa, Abuja, after Buhari met with all Nigeria's governors.
The meeting was organized for the purpose of
discussing the crisis in the party over the choice National Assembly
leaders among other things, according to Leadership.
Trouble broke out in the party when Senate President, Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara defied the party to contest and win the positions.
The party had chosen Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila to occupy the posts in a straw poll.
The resolutions reached at the meeting are still unknown as at press time.
