Celine Dion is taking a break from her professional life for unfortunate personal reasons.
According to People, Dion has postponed
her Las Vegas residency, canceled her tour of Asia and postponed all
show business activities indefinitely due to her husband's health
issues.
In December, René Angélil had a tumor removed from his throat last
December and this illness has resulted in "a very difficult and
stressful time," the singer tells the magazine.
She adds:
"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's
healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to
him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans
everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their
love and support."
The 46-year old artist is also suffering from inflammation in her
throat muscles, which has prevented her from performing her show at
Caesars Palace since July 29.
She and Angélil are the parents of three children and Dion forever won
us over by extending a concert invitation to the awesome dude who covered All By Myself inside the Las Vegas airport in June.
