SHOCKER: Nurse Injects Patient To Death In Lagos

A suspected fake nurse, Mrs Caroline Okoye, has been arrested by the police at State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for injecting one of her patients, Ephraim Umeugo, to death.

PMNEWS reports that the tragic incident happened at 144 Pipe Line road, Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos, western Nigeria.
According to the report, the 44-year-old accused person allegedly injected the deceased with substance suspected to have caused his death.
It was gathered that the suspect reportedly injected the deceased some drugs substance and he collapsed afterwards.
Those that witnessed the incident when it happened said the 42-year old victim was rushed to hospital for treatment where he eventually died due to complications.
Caroline was said to have pleaded not guilty when she was charged before Ebutte-Metta Magistrate’s Court with recklessness and negligence under the Criminal Code before the victim's death.
She was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety while the corpse of the victim was deposited at a mortuary for autopsy report.
However, reports stated that when information came to the court that the victim has died, the earlier charge preferred against her was changed with murder under the criminal code.
Also, Caroline's earlier plea of not guilty and bail  was revoked.
The presiding Magistrate, E. B. Daodu, also ordered her to be remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of DPP advice.
The matter was adjourned till 30 June 2014 for autopsy report.
