Human Rights Lawyer, Bamidele Aturu Dies At 49

 

 Mr Aturu passed on today after an undisclosed illness at the age of 49. The late lawyer was one of the founding members  of Democratic Alternative; a political group dedicated to holding those in power accountable to the governed.

The late activist during his NYSC days was bold enough to refuse to shake the hand of a military administrator of Niger State, Col. Lawan Gwadabe in 1988 during his NYSC passing out parade, saying the military had caused great harm to the democratic aspirations of Nigerians.

Mr Aturu was also nominated as a member of the ongoing National Conference, but refused to be part of it, arguing that the conference was designed to achieve nothing.

May his soul rest in peace.

Justin Bieber to Attend Anger Management Classes, Pay Neighbor for Damages

But he isn't a totally free man.

The singer was charged with misdemeanor vandalism  in relation to his egging of his neighbor's home back in January.

Bieber's attorney then pleaded no contest in court on behalf of his famous client, agreeing to a plea bargain in the process.

The terms of this deal are as follows:

• He is on probation for two years.
• Bieber must complete five days of community service.
• He must attend anger management classes.
• He must pay the neighbor, Shawn Holley, $80,900 in damages.

After all was agreed upon, Justin's team released the following statement:
Justin is glad to get this matter resolved and behind him. He will continue to move forward focusing on his career and his music.

Castro Underwater – Marine Agent Says Castro Is Alive And Undergoing Training In The Underworld

Now it’s getting interesting! According to a marine agent, the Hiplife artiste is not dead and rather undergoing training in the underworld. 

Wonders! According to Peacefmonline; Castro is alive and undergoing training in the underworld, a ‘Maame-Water’ or Marine spirit/agent has claimed. The renowned Hiplife Musician is reported to have drowned together with his girlfriend at an estuary in Ada on Sunday. But according to the marine agent who spoke to Okay FM on Monday, if sympathizers and fans of the music icon, should keep on wailing, it would automatically shut the spiritual door which would bring Castro back to life. Marine spirits are generally referred to as spirits which have operational base in the waters. They are spirits thrown down from Heaven (Rev 12 vs 12) and (13 vs 1) and made the oceans, seas, rivers, streams and lakes their abode. They execute their plans by possessing either a man or a woman. 

The marine agent, who only disclosed her identity as Dzifa Avaga, insisted that the circumstances which led to the demise of the late musician, was a normal occurrence to people who could relate to the underworld. “As I speak to you, I am a marine spirit; I exist because I made two people give birth to me. When I heard (Castro’s) news on air, I wasn’t surprised because the authorities in the sea had already informed me that they were going to have a visitor. And that was the same moment I heard Castro’s story on radio. This made me believe that Castro had gone for a visit and was not dead as earlier reported,” she said. 

When To Expect Castro Pressed forward to disclose the exact date Castro would return, Dzifa Avaga explained that no exact date has been fixed for his return. She however added that it might take months or years for him to return. Her only caution was that the needless crying must cease now since that could affect his Castro’s mood and force him not to return. “If you should keep on crying, then he (Castro) could be annoyed and decide not to return to earth again,” she said. 

She continued that everyone should expect to see Castro spotting a new look upon his return. According to her, he would be wearing dread locks when he comes back to the land of the living

Nigerian comedian defends student that gruesomely murdered dad

Defending the 21-year-old undergraduate who killed his dad with a cutlass and sliced the corpse into a box - Nigerian comedian, Wale Gates took to twitter this morning to share his personal experience.

"It might come has a surprise but I have a little sympathy for the young guy that murdered his RCCG dad. It's easy for some of you to focus on just his actions but not what led to it. Years of probably constant beatings in the name of discipline...Since the father was this praying Saint of a man why didn't he pray the evil away? Why did he resort to beating & biting a 21yr old MAN?..."

Chelsea To Sell John Mikel Obi, Ramires

Chelsea Football Club is going to sell Nigerian footballer John Mikel Obi and Brazilian international Ramires in order to raise funds for this summer transfer targets. 

The Blues manager Jose Mourinho will listen to offers for the duo, according to the reports. Chelsea recently signed Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona respectively and is looking to strengthen the squad further. 

It was gathered that Chelsea had already told the Nigerian international he should find a new place to pitch his tent this summer, and with his lethargic performance in Brazil his days at Stamford Bridge may truly be numbered.

Gunmen Killed 2 Policemen, Woman, Snatched Millions Of Naira

Two policemen were shot dead allegedly by a group of unidentified and heavily armed men who attacked a new generation bank located inside the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, UNEC, at the weekend.

According to the information provided by one of the eyewitnesses, the robbers invaded the building in the middle of the night and shot the two policemen without resistance. One of the victims died instantly, while the second policeman died on the way to a local hospital.
Thereafter they ordered the other guards into the security room and tied them. As there were no one to resist they quickly carted away millions of naira from the bank’s ATM and successfully escaped from the scene.
It was gathered that besides two policemen a girlfriend of one of them was also killed. The attackers are believed to be the same who organized robbery attack on a nearby bank one month ago.
As the incident is yet to be investigated, the public relations officer of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, advised residents to stay calm and report about any suspicious characters or items in the state.
