Sad: Three Family Members Killed Over Land Dispute

THREE members of a family in Amechi community, Awkunanaw Local Government Area of Enugu State have lost their lives over a land dispute.

 

The victims were identified as Nnaemeka Agbo (alias Echidime), Sunday Nnamani, and Nnamani Ikpa.

 

The disputed land lies directly opposite government-owned Millennium Estate, which is still under construction along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

 

It was gathered that a yet-to-be identified gunman shot and killed the young men on May 1, 2015 while they were on the said land.

 

Our correspondent learnt that the three men were part of a 15-man delegation sent by a faction of those laying claim to ownership of the land to undertake an on-the-spot inspection of the land and report back to the larger family.

 

It was also learnt that the two factions locked in the bloody dispute were from the same kindred – the

Umuaniebo clan of Isiagu, Amechi, Uwani in Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.

The traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Joseph Aniebonam Ogbodo, had to cut short his overseas trip as a result of the development.

 

According to a source in the community, who did not wish to be named, the three families of the Umuaniebo clan, namely Umunwakum, Umunogo and Umunengene, jointly owned the disputed land and several others in various parts of the Enugu Capital Territory area, especially Achara and Independence layouts, and Awkunanaw.

 

The source said the Umunengenes suddenly turned round to claim exclusive ownership of the piece of land on which the fatal shootings took place.

 

The development pitted the Umunengenes against the two other families – the Umunwakums and Umunogos.

Throwing more light on the matter, a community leader, Chief Oliver Agbo, said events leading up to the killings were triggered when “certain elements on the other side began to clear the vast land in dispute, using caterpillars and bulldozers”.

 

“They claimed that they wanted to build an exclusive estate and may even have collected money from people as we learnt.

 

“We reported the development to our son and Mayor of Enugu South Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Agbo, whom we gathered promptly briefed the police authorities, upon which a stay-clear order was issued to all parties,” he added.

 

He further explained that on the day the men were shot and killed, the deceased were part of a larger team mandated by the Umunwakum and Umunogo families to visit the site to ascertain the level of compliance with the police directive.

 

“Three healthy young men were killed instantly as gunshots rang out from all directions; so many more escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds, while others were butchered with machetes and axes”, Agbo recounted.

 

He, however, urged the police to identify and arrest those who engaged in the killings, which he described as genocide.

 

“It is insensitive, the height of recklessness and impunity for people to pick up arms against unarmed opponents in a civil contest.

 

“We do not want to take the laws into our own hands and then begin to decimate ourselves further; let the police help us by identifying and arresting specific culprits involved and then hold them to account,” he added.

Now, new details are emerging about the top secret fashion in which Bruce underwent the intensive procedure.
 
Radar Online is reporting that Bruce's sex change took place at night in a deserted clinic in Beverly Hills.

“The surgery was done after hours, and the only staff in the facility was very minimal,” said one insider.
“Nothing was left to chance, and Bruce arrived in the backseat of an SUV, and left hours later the same way.
“Every effort was made to make sure no photographers were lurking around. One of Bruce’s closest friends even drove around before the SUV left to make sure the coast was clear.”

So why is Bruce being so secretive? It may have something to do with the as-yet-untitled Bruce Jenner sex change reality show that's set to air on E! in the near future.

So many details were already revealed in Bruce/Diane Sawyer interview and on the recent two-part "About Bruce" special on Keeping Up With the Kardashians that producers may be worried that there are no bombshells left for Jenner to drop.

But hey, the guy was married to Kris Jenner for 24 years. We're sure he knows how to keep his audience wanting more.

Man Treks From Jama'are to Bauchi, and No One Was There to Welcome Him (PHOTOS)

The 35 year old trekker, Isa Kwarawanga of Zubo village in Shiraz LGA who trekked from Jama'are to Bauchi to congratulate the victory of the state governor-elect Barrister Mohammed Abubakar reached his destination yesterday but found no one there to welcome him.

Mallam Isa trekked for five days and had informed the APC in Jama'are that he was trekking to Bauchi and had expected the APC in Bauchi to welcome him...but there was no one there. At least someone should give him transport fare to take a bus back home.....Lol. I'm sorry for laughing but this is hilarious.

Drug Addict Gouges Out His Own Eyes & Eats Them in Front of Shocked Hospital Workers (Graphic Photo)

AN ice addict in a hospital emergency department gouged out his own eyeballs and ate them, a Federal Liberal MP has revealed.

The horrific story was revealed yesterday at an Ice Summit on the Central Coast organised by the Express Advocate to address the epidemic in the region.

Dobell Federal Liberal MP Karen McNamara relayed the story as she opened the summit before a packed auditorium this morning.

“There is nothing at all recreational about this drug,” Ms McNamara said.
“Let me tell you a story that demonstrates this … about a young boy taken into an emergency department for treatment who gouged out his own eyeballs and ate them,” she said.
“We have to get these kinds of stories out to young people — this is not a recreational drug,” she said.

A spokeswoman for Ms McNamara later said the incident occurred at John Hunter Hospital at Newcastle and that she was in the room when the story was related to Ms McNamara by a frontline emergency services officer who wished to remain anonymous.

Kanye West to Kim Kardashian: I Love You!!!

As we learned during a Kim Kardashian interview with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, Kanye West does not always love what his wife wears in public.

But while the rapper may have very particular opinions about Kim's style, he only has one broad and romantic opinion about Kim herself.

And it's a very positive one.


"Kim, I’m so happy to be married to the girl of my dreams," Kanye Tweeted in honor of the couple's one-year wedding anniversary on May 24.
"I love you and Nori so much!!! I would find you in any lifetime," he added.
In response, Kardashian acknowledged her husband's sweet sentiment and wrote:

Kim and Kanye exchanged vows last year in Florence, Italy while surrounded by family and friends.

In honor of their first anniversary, Kim posted a few new cozy pictures of the couple online and wrote: "I love this man so much! Happy Anniversary baby!”

Kris Jenner, meanwhile, posted a video of Kim and Kanye's first dance on their big day.
