Just In: Fire Guts Popular Balogun Market On Lagos Island - See Photos

Goods worth millions of naira have were this morning consumed by fire which started around 4:36am at the popular Balogun Market on Lagos Island according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Spokesman.

The fire started from a plaza which housed hundreds of shops and gradually spreads across other buildings. The fire was able to spread fast to other buildings, because the buildings were all built close to each other.  A diamond bank building was also sadly affected. Five plazas and four houses were also razed down in the inferno. Fire fighters have been called and they are doing everything possible to put the fire under control.

Angry Man Kills Crocodile That Ate His Pregnant Wife in Uganda

A furious fisherman has tracked down and killed the 20ft crocodile that ate his pregnant wife, Demeteriya Nabwire.

Demeteriya had gone insearch for firewood on the shores of Nawaikoke in Uganda but when she did not return after several hours, villagers began to panic.

A search party was set up and they were horrified to find the pregnant woman's slippers, bloody toes, fingers and a mobile phone at the spot where she went missing.

It soon became apparent she had been eaten by a giant beast surfacing from the river - the same 1,000kg creature had been blamed for the deaths of six women and children who had disappeared in the past year.

So devastated husband Mubarak Batambuze of Kibuye village, went to the local blacksmith and spent his savings on the sharpest spear possible..

He told Uganda daily newspaper New Vision:

"I went to a blacksmith and paid him sh20,000 (£4.65) so that he could make me a very sharp spear."

Batambuze went down to the riverbank and managed to find the 20ft beast near to where her remains were found last Sunday.

The 56-year-old took his bloody revenge and hauled his catch up to the shore with the help of five other fishermen.

He is now being hailed a hero by villagers for slaughtering the killer croc, which has terrorised families for over a year.

A village spokesperson was also said to demand compensation from the Ugandan Wildlife Authority for Batambuze's lost wife.

But officials said it's not part of their policy to pay out for people killed by crocodiles and added they are currently capturing reptiles and relocating them to another area.

Kim Kardashian: It’s Been Tough Trying To Conceive a Second Child

Kim Kardashian has opened up about her difficulties conceiving a second child.

An interview with The Daily Mail, Kim has confirmed that efforts thus far has been frustratingly fruitless.
Kim and Kanye on a Motorcycle
"It’s been more challenging to get pregnant the second time around,” Kardashian told the newspaper. “When you’re not planning it, it happens. It’s just how God works.”

The reality star continued: "And when you want it so bad, it’s not happening.”

Kardashian also said she has documented her struggles for Keeping Up with the Kardashians as a way to help other women in similar situations.

In the first extended teaser forKeeping Up with the Kardashians Season 10, viewers see Kardashian talking to sister Khloe about attempting to have a second kid.

We also see Kim visiting a doctor.
"I want a boy and another girl,” Ki recently told Elle UK. “I want it to start happening straight away. I loved being part of a huge family – and I want that for North. We’d do IVF if nothing happens, but we both want to keep trying naturally."

Beyonce Pregnant With Second Baby? See Photo

The news of a little brother or sister for Blue Ivy seems to be true:
Beyonce Pregnancy Announcement?!
Bey posted the above photo to Instagram and many have interpreted her sand belly as a subtle pregnancy announcement from Mrs. Carter.

Sure this seems like an incredibly low-key way to share the news compared to the VMAs baby bump that heralded the arrival of lil Blue Ivy, but in Queen Bey's world, low-key is in right now.

If this is Beyonce's way of announcing a new Bey-baby it would certainly be in keeping with her current taste for DIY online bombshells.

In the past 14 months, Beyonce dropped a surprise album and a self-produced music video online with little to no pre-release buzz. She prefers to cut out the middle-man when interacting with her fans, and the Bey-hive loves her for it.

Of course, it's still possible that this is just the Carters' way of messing with us, but we like to think they wouldn't joke about something as serious as the arrival a new addition to hip hop's royal family.

So unless we're informed otherwise, we're gonna go ahead and assume that baby Blue is soon to be a big sis. You're crazy for this one, Bey!

Court dissolves 35-year-old marriage over sex starvation

A Mushin Customary Court, Lagos, on Thursday dissolved a 35-year-old marriage between Paul Odunbaku and his wife Titilayo over sex starvation and emotional abuse.

Odunbaku, 63, an engineer, had urged the court to dissolve his marriage to Titilayo, for alleged sex starving and emotional abuse.

The court President, Mrs Rukayat Wushishi, in her judgment, dissolved the marriage and admonished them to maintain peace.

Wushishi appealed to the petitioner to continue to play his fatherly role to his six children, five of whom, were married.

Odunbaku, had told the court that the marriage had been devoid of love for the past 21 years.
According to him, Titilayo, a school teacher, has starved him of sex for the past 21 years. The petitioner, who lives at No. 11, Balogun Street, Ladipo, Mushin, said the marriage was contracted in 1979.
“My wife has starved me of sex for over 21 years and has tried to pour acid on me. She did not stop at that, Titilayo also on one occasion threatened to stab me with a knife.
“My wife is very abusive and uses different offensive words on me whenever we have a misunderstanding and she also throws various dangerous objects at me,” he said.

Titilayo, who urged the court to dissolve the marriage, said she was no longer interested in the relationship.

According to her, several attempts have been made by ministers of their church to settle their differences but it has yielded no result.

Titilayo told the court that she started denying her husband of sex following more pregnancies after six children.

She said that she had to abort several pregnancies because they could not afford to have more children.

Lady: 5 Funny Things Men Do Before A Date That You Don’t Know (Must Read)

Sometimes, men try to always pass this message of them being in control at all times to ladies but male ego hide so many things we do that only if the ladies knew…they would chuckle within them.

 couple
Picture a lady going on a date probably for the first time with a man that she truly likes; deep within there are so many unsolved puzzles that goes through her mind. Funny enough, the lady isn’t the only one that’s facing this reality check (unknown to her).

Men also do some funny things before such a date— join me smile through this as I reveal some of the things men also face before such a special date.

1. PONDER ON WHAT TO WEAR

If you think only ladies ponder on what to wear before a date then you might be mistaken; every man wants the lady he likes to find him attractive as well, so he ponders on what to wear for quite a while before going for his best option.

2. STARE AT THE MIRROR

Ladies, if you think the mirror is meant for just you then you might actually be deluded—you need to see the man going on a date with a lady he likes, he stares at himself in a mirror just to be sure he’s looking perfect. It’s funny that men castigate women for time spent in front of a mirror, but we also do this too on special occasions.

3. WONDER IF SHE WOULD FIND HIM ATTRACTIVE

Ladies aren’t the only one caught up on whether the man would find them attractive; I’m not even sure who do this more because men are also caught up in this scenario. Would she like me? Would she see me as the perfect gentleman? Would she think I’m unattractive? Questions like these also run through a man’s mind.

4. THE RIGHT LINES TO SAY

This is where the man’s job becomes even more difficult; ladies expect the man to have the right words to say and the right conversations to start up; this would even add more tension to the way the man feels. So before he goes to meet her, his mind is already bundled with what do I say? How do I make her smile? What are the best things to discuss and the best lines to use? How can I tease her? Etc…...

5. PRACTICE THINGS

When he knows it’s a lady he actually likes, consciously or unconsciously a man sees himself practicing so many weird things like even how to give a cute smile, how to walk confidently and even the right way to talk.

Being a man isn’t an easy job after all. So ladies, when next you’re preparing for that date with a man that you really like (and he likes you too), you should know that you aren’t the only one caught up in so many weird and funny things. Women also make men do funny things.

Sad Story: How a 22 Year Old Nigerian Died in Police Custody in United States

Two Sheriff’s deputies in Savannah, Georgia have been placed on administrative leave with pay for “inappropriate actions” due to the death of 22-year-old Nigerian student, Matthew Ajibade, who died in their custody.

According to Source, Ajibade who suffered from bipolar disorder, died in the isolation cell of a Savannah county jail.
He had been arrested for battery after the police were called over a domestic incident.
Local news reports state that it was Ajibade’s girlfriend who called the police, and when they arrived; she told them he needed to go to the hospital. However, a preliminary incident report on the arrest states that neither Ajibade nor his girlfriend requested to be taken to the hospital.
When officers arrived at the scene, Ajibade was said to be standing with his girlfriend, and holding her tightly. They both had a blanket over their heads.
The girlfriend subsequently removed the blanket when authorities arrived, and when she did so, her face appeared to be bruised and her nose was bleeding, police allege.
The police report also states that when an officer tried to pull them apart, Ajibade “started to resist apprehension in a violent manner, and was taken to the ground, so that he could be handcuffed.”
Ajibade’s girlfriend reportedly informed police of his medical condition, handing them a bottle labeled Divalproex, that contained pills. The drug is usually used to treat certain types of bipolar disorder or seizures.

Authorities said he was placed in an isolation cell because “he became combative with deputies while being booked and his behavior was deemed dangerous.”
Ajibade eventually died in the cell.
His family is demanding answers, and insists that he should have been taken to the hospital instead of jail.
An investigation into the cause of his death is currently ongoing.
Ajibade who studied film at the Savannah College of Art and Design before deciding on computer science and switching to Savannah Technical College, was born in Lagos, Nigeria.
“Matthew was going places, and they were good places,” O’Mara said. “And we need to know why he’s never going to get there,” says his brother, Chris Oladapo.
