We Need To Raise Our Game To Reach Next Round At World Cup: Mikel Obi

Nigerian defensive midfielder John Obi Mikel believes that they need to raise their game if they want to reach the next round.

According to Mikel Obi who received the Man of the Match award, they will likely need wins against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Argentina in their final two games, though victory against the former will give them an excellent chance of making Last 16.
"Naturally we’re disappointed because we know what it means to win your opening match at the World Cup," Mikel said. "We thought we had a good chance of winning. We created some openings in the first half and I think we deserved to score. Iran kept us at bay, though, and they were well organised at the back.
"We need to raise our game if we want to reach the next round. We prepared very well for this World Cup and we can’t afford to drop another point in our remaining games," he said.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi stated that the team played very well in the first half. "The forwards were very active and they had a couple of chances to score, though we couldn’t put them away. We lost our shape in the second half," he continued.
"I felt we could have won the game but we were lacking a bit of inspiration on the pitch. All credit to Iran. They stuck to their game-plan and were able to put it into practice from start to finish."
Next up for the Super Eagles is a meeting with Bosnia-Herzegovina in Cuiabá on Saturday where a win would likely oust their opponents from the competition and put one Nigerian foot in the second round.

University of Abuja Shut Down Indefinitely Over Students Protest

The management of the University of Abuja on Monday shut down the institution following students protest over the ongoing indefinite strike embarked upon by the academic staff of the school.
This is contained in a circular signed by the university’s registrar, Mohammed Modibo.
The circular said the Vice Chancellor, James Adelabu, had on behalf of the senate, approved the closure of the institution until further notice.
“I am directed to inform you that given the prevailing situation in the university, the Vice Chancellor, has on behalf of the senate, approved that the university be closed down until further notice,” it
said.

The circular directed the students to vacate hostels and university premises immediately, adding that further development would be communicated to them.
The circular was pasted at the university gate late on Monday.
The protesting students had earlier gathered at the university staff quarters at Giri, near Gwagwalada, with mats insisting to see the Vice Chancellor.
They said they would not leave the area until the strike was called off.
Some of the students lamented that they are at the receiving end whenever there is a strike.
They urged the university authority to dialogue and put an end to the strike.

Gosh!!!!! Man Sues Hospital For Shortening His P_nis By 1 INCH

Sex injuries are never a laughing matter. But imagine a sex session leading to the loss of an inch off the end of your p_nis… There really is nothing funny about that, right?

Then spare a thought for one paraplegic man who claims that is exactly what happened to him. The unlucky guy fractured his p_nis during sex with his wife and, after what he says was a misdiagnosis by a nurse, ended up losing ‘about an inch’ off its length.

This man is now suing the hospital for the break-up of his marriage after he lost the ability to made love for two years – something he says came about because the nurse failed to physically examine his p_nis.

The lack of proper examination, he says, is what led to an off-site doctor falsely diagnosing him only with minor trauma.

It took two weeks of agony for the man to find out his lovemaking slip-up had seriously damaged his member.

Subsequent surgery to repair the damage meant a 24-month sex embargo for the man – as well as a shortened p_nis.

The man stated: ‘This has caused a greater impact on my life than when I lost the use of my legs.’

Speaking from a male perspective here, sorry Doc, but can any trauma to the p_nis ever be considered minor?

Gov. Okorocha Launches ‘Operation Know Your Neighbour’ After Owerri Bomb Scare

Imo State Government  in a bid to check penetration of suicide bombers in the state   has launched  “Operation Know Your Neighbour”.

This followed the attempted bomb incident that took place on Sunday at the Winners Chapel Church off Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, in which  three bombs were discovered and later detonated by the Police.

The  state government launched the ‘Operation Know  Your Neighbour’  in collaboration with the security agencies in the state  as part of the  security measures to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the state.

Launching the programme on Monday at a special security meeting in Owerri, with the service chiefs in the state in attendance , the State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha contended that nobody comes into a state to commit crime of any kind without an internal collaborator, adding that since those who commit these crimes were human beings they must also be residents somewhere, and their neighbours should equally be able to know them and what they do.

The governor announced other security measures, which stipulate that hotels in the state should install security cameras and should forward on daily basis the list of their guests to the Director of State Security Services; and trailers bringing food items from the Northern part of the country would no longer be allowed to come into the state at night but only in the day.

Kanye still throwing shade at Jay Z…You won’t believe what he said about Jay Z & Solange elevator drama

GQ Magazine Celebrates 50 Years

It appears that Kanye West is still not over Jay Z’s nonattendance at his wedding. Over the past few days, concert goers have reported countless instances of Kanye throwing shade at his one-time closest pal, Jay Z. Such example include; removing Jay’s name from any lyric that he is mentioned in. The latest in a series of Jay Z shade by Kanye, according to a concert-goer happened at the Bonaroo Festival over the weekend where Kanye performed. He reportedly started off by reminding everyone of what an awesome genius he is (of course, I mean what else is new?), after which he took a shot at Jay Z making references to the Solange-Jay Z elevator beat-down. Below is what he said; “Let’s be clear. Ain’t no b*tch gonna pull that Solange ish on me.” Errm…I think that the whole Kardashian/Jenner clan know better than to mess with Kanye in that manner. We know, Kanye…we know!

Rihanna is in love with Ghana Black Stars Kevin Prince Boateng?

Kevinrihanna

Rihanna’s certainly got an eye for cute guys. Check the list of men she’s hit – Breezy, Drake and who else… she’s got them all.

So on match day, when the Black Stars were trailing the U.S.A by a goal, she was busily scanning through images of the Ghanaian players.

And lo and behold she found one. Our own KPB. Fine boy.

Riri posted an image of Kevin – obviously a cute one – on her Twitter page.

What followed was an instant global interest in the subject.

“Da Bae doe! I might have to be team Ghana on this one idc idc idc,” she posted, attaching a rather fine image of the Black Stars player.

Da Bae doe is a street term often used in Western Florida, and could mean baby, boo, or sweetie. So strong was the affection, she pleaded to the millions of Americans she had to ditch them for Ghana.

You can’t really blame her. She is a bajan chic; a root is everything.

Miley Cyrus Loses Award to Selena Gomez, Throws Tantrum on Twitter

Last night, the 2014 MuchMusic Video Awards were held in Toronto, and while Miley Cyrus was not in attendance, she still managed to make her presence felt.
Miley's assault on Selena Gomez continued on Twitter during the awards show when the Queen of Twerk expressed her dismay at losing the International Artist of the Year prize to her rival Selena.
  • Miley Cyrus Glam Selfie
  • Selena Gomez Smirks
"Wigged woting is wack wust waying," Cyrus tweeted shortly after the results were announced. For those not fluent in Miley that's "Rigged voting is whack, just saying."
Not exactly a gracious defeat on Miley's part. Maybe reactions like that are why Selena has no respect for Miley anymore.
Or maybe Miley reacted that way because she knows Selena has no respect for her.
Tough to say, as we really have no idea when or why this feud got started.
Miley fired the first shots last week when she angrily tossed a Selena doll into the crowd during a performance, but she hasn't given any indication as to what Selena did to get on her bad side.

Blame Keshi For Nigeria’s Draw Against Iran—Okocha

Former Nigerian midfielder, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, has blamed the Super Eagles poor outing at the ongoing FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil to poor technical quality from the head coach, Stephen Keshi.

According to Okocha, Keshi has not brought any changes to the team, noting that this is what all African countries have been facing in this tournament.

“His changes were poor. He took out Moses and brought in Ameobi. I think that was a wrong change,” he observed.

Speaking as an analyst on Supersport, Okocha said Keshi should be held responsible for the lame approach the team adopted in the goalless draw against Iran last night.

The widely regarded ‘best Nigerian player’ of his generation, with displeasure, said he hopes Nigeria makes it through to the next rounds because the country’s expectation is high and that in football, the best team wins the competition.
