A former Abia State governor, Orji Kalu, has described the on-going
National Conference in Abuja as a home to old men who do not have the strength
to decide the future of the nation. Speaking at the Centenary Lecture organised by the Oyo State
branch of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kalu, who delivered a lecture
titled, ‘Nigeria: A Nation in Quest of Credible Leadership’, said Nigeria would
not move forward unless the first generation leaders withdrew gradually from
politics.

Orji Kalu Takes A Shot At FG! Sleepy Old Men At The On-Going Conference Can’t Make A Change
Oh No! African Immigrants desperately cling on to border fences for 7 hours in failed bid to enter Europe(Photos)
Wow ! Talk about desperate measures.... These African immigrants
were caught trying to scale a fence between Morocco & Spain. Their
hands and feet were bloodied by the wire as they clung desperately to
the fence for 7 hours trying to cross over into Spain.
Spanish border patrols tried to convince them to hand themselves over but they hung up there shouting slogans and calling for help to enter Spain.
After a seven-hour standoff, border patrol managed to coax most of the immigrants down from the fence, gave them water and turned them over to Moroccan police.

Bizarre Photos: Would you & your Lover take Pictures Posed like this to Keep your Love Fresh?
Most couples try all kinds of romantic tricks to keep their love alive,
but Japanese photographer Haruhiko Kawaguchi takes a more literal
approach to showing and preserving the love between two people – he
wraps them in plastic, sucks out the air and takes photos of their
distorted bodies.
It takes about 10 to 20 seconds for him to take the photographs, during
which time the shrink wrapped couple has to endure the pressure and lack
of air, but it's all in the name of love. Surprisingly and thankfully,
no one has been harmed!
Would you and you and your boo agree to take a shot if you could?
Should a Woman be Allowed to Abort a Baby her Baby Daddy wants Her to Keep?
I got my girlfriend of six years pregnant. She is about 8 weeks pregnant and today she told me she wanted to get an abortion. I asked her why, and she said that she wanted to get her degree and a baby would get in the way of it. And that she is not financially stable to raise a child. I am a college grad and I make over 100k a month.
I told my girlfriend that I would financially support her and my child and help her through school. And if she needed it, we could hire a full time nanny so she could study. Then she said she wasn't ready to be a mom because she wanted to travel and live her life.
I'm really upset because I feel like she is being selfish. And if it comes down to it, I'd rather have her have the child and then I will keep my baby. I can take care of my baby as a single father. She can go off and live her own life and have fun, and finish college. I think my baby deserves a shot at life and I know I would be a great father.I'm just shocked because my girlfriend's true colors are coming out and if she aborts my child I will want nothing to do with her. Am I right for feeling this way? Can I legally sue her for aborting my child? I am 27, she is 23.

Pandemonium broke out yesterday morning in Lagos when an
unidentified prison warder died in a commercial tricycle, popularly
called Keke Marwa.
The incident was reported to have happened at Keffi bus stop, off Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
According to eye witness report, the prison official died after he started coughing out blood inside the commercial tricycle. It was gathered that an attempt to revive the young man by some passengers proved futile as he continued to cough out blood until he finally gave up the ghost.
Below are some of the pictures of the incident:
Moments after these pictures hit the web, Lagosians have continued to ask question on what could have caused the death of the prison worker. While some online news readers joked that it could be Ebola virus, others said it could be a spiritual attack. But as at the time of filing this report, no member of the deceased has come out to identify the dead man whose corpse has been deposited at a mortuary.

Shocking-Man Beheads Father,Eats Neck & Sucks His Blood In Ebonyi [See Photo]
The Police Command of Ebonyi State paraded a 30-year-old man,
for beheading his 56-year-old father and eating the victim’s neck at
Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Chris Anyanwu, said..
“He was arrested on April 1, 2014 and before he was arrested, he was running and waving his machete which he used to cut his father’s head and threatened to kill anybody that moved close to him. Meanwhile, he was over powered and arrested but was caught eating the part of the severed head, after he ate-up the entire neck of the severed head. So, when you look at the exhibit head, you would see that he doesn’t even have the neck even though he cut the head on the base of the head you cannot find the neck from the head because he had eaten it up.
I think it is not unconnected with ritual killing because it does appear he may have been asked to do such a thing but like I said he is undergoing interrogation if he yields, then we will be able to know clearly and why he did the act. However, the machete and the pestle with which he committed the crime were recovered from the scene of the incident and the headless body and severed head were deposited at the mortuary at Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki for autopsy. The suspect will been arraigned in court for prosecution.”
His uncle, Mr Joseph Nwite, said that the suspect had been away from home for over six years, adding “he just came back from Imo State and killed his father”.

You don't PREPARE for MARRIAGE in MARRIAGE
For many husbands, they feel wives can be downright confusing.
One night, a husband looks at his wife with puppy dog eyes and suggests romance. she replies in frustration, “Not tonight. Is sex all you men think about?” A few nights later in that very same bed, she might say, “You just watch TV and go to bed. Don’t u find me attractive anymore?”
Another husband hears his wife complaining about her need to exercise. He buys her a gym membership. And that’s when the fight begins!
There are countless times in marriage when a husband and wife get their wires crossed.
Efforts to make your wife happy may seem to backfire more often than not.
MANY a TIME your LADY actually TELLS U what she WANTS, either with INDIRECT WORDS or SIGN LANGUAGE (every lady has her peculiar sign language, u got to pay attention and Learn hers).
BELIEVE me she wants the Romance, affection and Love but she wants it wholeheartedly and wants u to do it right.
MAKE TIME a DAILY HABIT! Don't become too busy that u cant spend at least 15 minutes a day talking with your Spouse.
If possible, use dinnertime as a place for conversation. If dinner doesn’t work, maybe it’s a five minute phone call at lunch and 10 minutes sitting on the sofa in the evening.
Act interested in what your wife has to say. Notice I wrote “act.” I know the things
we women SOMETIMES talk about can be boring, long-winded, dramatic or illogical (or all of the above).....WOMEN love to TALK and CHAT! But if u simply act as if u care about what we’re saying, it means the world to us.
If its too much Just picture yourself in a board room listening to a boring presentation by your boss. You would still act interested out of respect for your boss. Act interested in your wife’s comments, not always because the conversation is riveting, but because u love your wife.
Hug, cuddle, and kiss her often. Remember the affectionate way u would hold her hand, and tell her how much u Love her while u were engaged! Do that again and again.
Remind yourself to romance and court her physically with a steady flow of affection. But remember, the goal of all your hugging and cuddling isn’t to have sex that night but to MAINTAIN AFFECTIONS.
WRITE HER A LOVE NOTE. It doesn’t have to be pure poetry to make her heart flatter.
Write down the things u appreciate about her. Why are u glad u married her? Did
she do something last week that u really liked? How is she doing a good job as a
mother?
Take her On the date, hold her hand, open the door for her, and brag about her.
Tell her she looks beautiful. What’s a common question that little girls ask? Do I look
beautiful daddy? It’s a question that grown women still wonder about. Women tend to
be hard on themselves regarding their looks.
They are afraid they don’t measure up in your sight. But if u look into your wife’s eyes and tell her she is beautiful, u will make her day!
Help with the household duties. pick up around the house, help in the kitchen, and your wife will be incredibly thankful. REMEMBER U are to SERVE HER as SHE'S to SERVE U.
LASTLY make your WIFE, a whole part of your LIFE, your business, Job, everything u do, make her know how u get things done at work, make her a part of your Life. She would be so glad and it makes her feel IMPORTANT.
Sometimes u both can write emails together, discuss Job contracts, ask for her opinions. THAT'S WHY U JUST GOT TO MARRY RIGHT GENT! So if she doesn't know how to give u Business ideas, she knows how to add wisdom and directions from the SPIRIT by through God's WORD.....

Keep Quiet: Charles Novia Advises Tchidi Chikere
Just recently when Nollywood director, Tchidi Chikere, got married to his new wife and actress, Nuella Njubigbo, he has been unveiling revelations on social media as regards the reasons why he left his ex- wife, Sophia Chikere.
There have been reactions in various quarters concerning their dispute, as his ex-wife (Sophia) also, has taken to social media to defend allegations made concerning her and her ex-marriage.
Apparently, this development isn’t going down well with some other celebrities, as top notch Nollywood producer and director, Charles Novia, took on the issue as published on his blog. Read below
“One of the best brains we have in Nollywood would be Tchidi Chikere, a celebrated scriptwriter and movie director. With an impressive body of work in the past decade and a capacity to discover new stars or to enhance sagging careers of others, Tchidi is not a personality one can ignore in Nollywood.
I have known him in a professional capacity for close to fourteen years and I relate well with him in the few instances we have met and had discussions. Tchidi has a burning desire to make a change in Nollywood, to shoot movies which somehow should re-calibrate society’s moral journey. I particularly love some of his movies for the uncanny way he brings out everyday characters in simple lifestyles and turn them to complex evolutionary beings in complex situations. As a movie director and a scriptwriter, Tchidi is gifted. Very gifted. Take it from me.
“In my usual no-holds-barred critique of his acting, I would be less charitable in my accolades. But I am not writing this to detract from his credentials as a celebrated auteur. I am writing this out of concern, perhaps more professional but with a huge personal slant to it as well.
It is a well-known fact by now that Tchidi got married to an actress, Nuella, a few days ago. First of all, Tchidi, I must congratulate you on that. Whatever the opinions people have, we must all respect the wishes of consenting adults when it comes to tying the knot. He made a choice and we should respect that, no matter how much the slanderous anonymous commentators on social media think they know.
That Tchidi got seperated from his former wife, Sophia who bore him three children is perhaps unfortunate but like I said, consenting adults take decisions which they believe is best for them at certain stages in life. Such decisions might come much anger and recriminations and would always leave scars in the hearts of both parties. Divorce or seperation is never pleasant.
My concern in this case has to do with the open fights between Tchidi and Sophia on social media AFTER Tchidi’s new marriage. On face value, it would seem to have started with Tchidi’s rant on twitter a couple of days back against his ex-wife.
The tweets were quite shocking and less than charitable, to say the least. Though from the tweets, one could psycho-analyse that Tchidi was really angry, hurt and perhaps deliberately hitting below the belt at his former wife. My first reaction when I read those tweets on a blog was one of shock. Those tweets were totally uncalled for. Totally. Granted, they might have been written in a miasma of negative volcanic emotions but total restraints is required from a man in those kinds of circumstances. And such restraints is justified when the mother of your blood children is involved! Sophia had a riposte which I read as well and she had a moral right to respond too. But something tells me that Tchidi would wish to fire another salvo at that response and thus start social media bric-a-brac which would inflict more wounds on all parties. That is why I had to write this open opinion.
In Nollywood and perhaps to a small extent the entertainment industry in general, most of the creatives tend to look away when acrimonious matters befall one of their own. First reactions would be one of aloofness, followed by private gossip in meeting places. Sometimes, colleagues and friends of such personalities would whisper malicious things about the subject in private while pretending to be all coy and concerned when they meet the suffering subjects in public. Oh Yes! My sector have some psychophants and pretenders as with politics but isn’t that how life goes?
Perhaps Tchidi and Sophia are being wrongly advised by masquerading friends? Or maybe they are not even being advised at all by anyone but are just ventilating on social media, giving bloggers more hits and the country one more piece of idle gossip?
Whatever the case, I will openly advise Tchidi to stop further tweets or replies on this matter. For the record, I don’t know Sophia or Nuella and haven’t met with any ever and don’t wish to. My concern, as a father, is for the kids from Tchidi’s first marriage and perhaps future kids from this new marriage. Do not celebrate your misgivings on social media. Sheath the swords. Think of the children. The children. The children.
Those poor kids are going through indescribable torture and pain already. You don’t need to add fuel to their discomfort. Angry words once written and published are hard to take back, even with the passing of time.
Celebrities are human too. That you see us on the screens or read about us does not make us less human than the other fellow. Fame and fortune only hide our foibles and finnicks. But we are human. However, whilst we are human, there are expectations of decorum we all must adhere to. And if it is just for the kids, Tchidi and Sophia (and perhaps Nuella) must adhere to the dictates of decorum.

National Conference Delegates Suggest Death Penalty For Corrupt Officials
Some delegates of the ongoing National Conference have
advocated death penalty for the public officials found guilty of
corruption.
In his speech Gen. (rtd.) Geoffery Ejiga lamented that Nigeria was deteriorating, urged his colleagues to rise up and change the situation. Gen. Ejiga reminded that he shared his views during the 2005 National Political Reform Conference, where he suggested capital punishment for corrupt officials. The words of the military men were really unpopular at that time.

The words of the military men were really unpopular at that time.
In his speech the ex- general mentioned China as the example:
“If they can hang corrupt people in China, then we must hang them here too. I can testify that things are fast deteriorating in this country. “We must discuss those issues so that we can pull back our country from the brink of collapse,” he said. The old general got support from a youth leader, Ben Duntoye. He mentioned that only in Nigeria, while corrupt officials continue to steal with impunity, the society was conferring chieftaincy titles on them.
“A man steals N20bn and he keeps walking the streets freely. Think of what that money would do for our youth if we were to empower some of them.Former governor of Ebonyi State, Dr Sam Egwu, also blamed the elite for being responsible for the problems confronting the nation. He wondered why political appointees should earn more than people in the academia, saying the elites always make laws to serve their selfish cravings.
“Capital punishment is key to fighting corruption in Nigeria. If a man steals N20bn, what else do you need to do? Such people should be hanged! Government must also cut down on wastes and its excesses,” he said.
“The problem of Nigeria is mostly caused by the elites who make laws to suit their whims. This is a conspiracy of the elites. We are not yet sincere with ourselves,” he said.It would be recalled that the National Conference was inaugurated by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on March 17, 2014, Monday, and will last about 3 months.
