Man abducts and k!lls female trader to avoid repaying N40,000 debt in Nasarawa


Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two men, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba, for the abduction, m8rder of a petty trader, Felicia Namkywa, in Obi Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, October 13, said the prime suspect, Abubakar, was owing the deceased the sum of N40,000. 

According to the PPRO, Abubakar lured Felicia to a Fulani settlement under the guise to purchase grains. 

The suspect conspired with Isah, abducted the victim, took her deep into the forest where she was strangled to d@ath and her remains dumped in a swamp.

The suspects also took away the sum of five hundred and fifty-five thousand Naira that was found on the victim. 

 "The duo of Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba both males of Shember village of Agwatashi, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state have been arrested by Police detectives attached to Obi Division investigation for the abduction and subsequent k!lling of one Felicia Namkywa, a petty trader following a painstaking investigation.  

"The arrest was sequel to a complaint lodged at Obi Divisional Police Headquarters that the trader has been missing for days and all efforts to trace her whereabouts proved abortive. 

"Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was lured via phone call by one of the suspect (Abubakar Ibrahim) who was owing her the sum of Fourty Thousand Naira (#40,000) and beckoned on her to come and purchase grains in one of the Fulani settlements (Ruga) of the area.

"Unknown to her that there was a sinister plan to take her life and dispossess her of her business capital. 

"The suspects upon interrogation confessed to having lured and abducted the victim, took her deep into the forest where she was straggled to death and her remains dumped in a swamp, and took away the sum of five hundred and fifty-five thousand Naira that was found on the victim. 

"The suspects subsequently led the police operatives to the scene where the decayed remains of the victim were recovered. 

"The commissioner of police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department to swiftly conclude the investigation and charge the suspects to court for immediate prosecution. 

“He further extended his condolences to the family of the victim and urged them to be calm while assuring them that justice would be served.”
