Florence Nobakooza said she was denied sex for three months by her husband before she decided to take matters into her own hands and cut his genitals with a razor blade. It’s one of those bizarre stories that surface from time to time: disgruntled partner lashes out on the lover or spouse for ridiculous reasons. But Florence Nabakooza claims that her main problem with her husband was the fact that he had starved her of sex for 3 months. The 30 year-old woman descended on her 34 year-old husband with a razor blade, aiming for his most vital of organs.

According to Uganda’s New Vision news platform, she then reported to Lugazi Police Station where she laid out her confession.

“I have come to report myself for cutting my husband’s genitals. He is almost useless because he has refused to fulfill his obligation as a man, yet nature pushes me to demand sex from him,” she said.

Mrs Nabakooza told the police that her husband had been admitted to Mehta Hospital for three months while suffering from cerebral malaria. When he was discharged two weeks ago, she said she fed and prayed for him to recover so they could resume their matrimonial intimacy. Despite all of this, he still claimed to be tired.

“My husband has starved me, yet I don’t cheat on him. He kept telling me that he was still weak.”

The Mehta Hospital senior medical officer Dr. Deogratius Kasibante said Byekwaaso was taken to the theatre for an assessment of the extent of the damage (to his genitals) as he had lost a lot of blood.

Luckily for the victim, the cut was only skin deep and he was given six stitches. He is said to be recovering “steadily”. When police visited Mr Nabakooza to obtain a statement, he instead insisted that they set his wife free from custody.
