Injustice and failed family system responsible for insecurity in the country - Senator Okorocha says

Former Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, says the rising insecurity in the country can be attributed to injustice and failed family system in the country.

Okorocha said this while receiving an award of excellence from the United Business Women Association of Nigeria and Diaspora recently.

In his words;

“A woman is a special creation by God. Women are givers and custodians of life. Nations that ignore their women are considered failed nations while nations that make good use of their women are called developed nations.

So, if Nigeria must rise again, then we must make a turnaround and look at the women. If we don’t carry the women along, we are in for a very serious trouble.

If any nation must get it right, it has to start from the family. It is the bad family system that we have today that has given rise to insurgency and other criminality in the country.

No sane woman who gives birth to a child will allow the child to go astray.

The problem is that we have not taken care of the women and we have not empowered the women. Whatever you give a woman is what you get in return. While we men have succeeded in dividing this country along religious and ethnic lines, the women have remained a force of unity. For as long as we have not empowered the women in the house to give us good family, for as long as our politicians continue on the path of injustice, insurgency, kidnapping will never stop”

Man stabs cousin to death over N150

Man allegedly stabs cousin to death over N150 in Adamawa

The incident happened at Fotta community in Gombi Local Government Area of the state after the duo were paid for a job they had carried out.

The father of two, who is being quizzed at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the state Police Command in Yola, said he and the deceased were engaged in a plaster job on April 14.

The duo shared the money they were paid after completing the job, however, he was supposed to give the deceased a balance of #150 but decided not to do so.

According to the suspect, Parambiu kept insisting that he must give him the money. His refusal to give him the money led to a quarrel between them.

He explained that a woman heard them fighting over the balance and settled the matter by giving Parambiu the sum of N150.

Kelfari further narrated that after the woman left, the deceased insisted that the original N150 balance must be given to him as according to him, the money the woman gave him was a gift and not the balance.

He claimed that he went to the house of the deceased, met his mother and narrated everything to her, adding that she ''advised him to report the matter to the police.''

Kelfari further claimed that he was on his way out of the house when the deceased caught him and held his neck tightly. He claims in self defence, he drew out a knife from his waist and stabbed him on his chest.

Parambiu died on the way to a health center in Fotta while Kelfari was later arrested.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the incident, said that investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.

Anunu Ebe: The Mysterious out standing king of all Trees.
The Tree called Anunuebe, mysterious of course as is used to prepare all sort of charms.
The Anunu-ebe is type of tree on which no bird perches. It grows in the bush far away from peoples homes. It has some medicinal value as some healers and medicine men make use of its leaves, roots or bark. Some of the Anunu-ebe tree grow very big and spread their leaves so wide that they cast big shadows around them. Some other trees around them do not expand or spread their leaves in the same way. In other words, the Anunu-ebe tree turns to be a gigantic object towering over and above other trees in the area.
Often people describe the tree as a mystical plant that does not allow other plants to grow around it. Nothing grows under it or within the area it leaves spread or cover. No grasses grow underneath it. Any birds that perch on any branch of the Anunu-Ebe tree may die immediately. It's leaves never touches the ground..cobwebs are woven around it's top where all dead leaves drop...whatever that's alive that comes in contact with the root dies off...that's why no other plant is seen around it. Herbalists and medicine men who use the parts of the Anunu ebe tree are those know for strong charms, and powerful amulets.
How it's gotten is by approaching the tree and from a distance, live rooster is thrown at it after some incantation...no being can survive if you approach it ordinarily. It takes a brave man to get the leave of forbidden king of all trees

53 sailors in sunken Indonesian Navy submarine confirmed dead

Indonesia’s military on Sunday April 25, officially said all 53 crew members from a submarine that sank last week are dead after the search teams located the vessel's wreckage on the ocean floor.

The grim announcement comes days after Indonesia said the 43-year-old German-made submarine, KRI Nanggala-402, was considered sunk, not merely missing, but did not state whether the crew was dead.

Officials previously said the KRI Nanggala 402's oxygen supply would have run out early Saturday, three days after the vessel went missing off the resort island of Bali.

Wreckage from the KRI Nanggala-402 was found Sunday on the bed of the Bali Sea at 850m.

The navy said the diesel-powered submarine may have experienced a loss of battery power and was unable to return to the surface. There was only enough oxygen for the crew to survive for up to 72 hours.

‘It is possible that during static diving, a blackout occurred so control was lost and emergency procedures cannot be carried out and the ship falls to a depth of 600-700 metres,’ the FT reported.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said: ‘We received underwater pictures that are confirmed as the parts of the submarine, including its rear vertical rudder, anchors, outer pressure body, embossed dive rudder, and other ship parts.

"With this authentic evidence, we can declare that KRI Nanggala 402 has sunk and all the crew members are dead,” Tjahjanto said.

An underwater robot equipped with cameras documented the lost submarine lying in at least three pieces on the ocean floor at a depth of 838 meters (2,750 feet), said Adm. Yudo Margono, the navy’s chief of staff.

Indonesia's President Joko Widodo delivered his condolences in a televised address Sunday.

"All Indonesians convey deep sorrow for this tragedy, especially to all of the families of the submarine's crew. They are the best sons of the nation, patriots guarding the sovereignty of the country,” Widodo said.

30-year-old primary school teacher arrested for sodomizing male pupils in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old school teacher, Ebenezer Olawuyi, for sodomizing two of his male pupils.

Olawuyi, a private school teacher, was paraded by the State Police Commissioner, Ngozi Onadeko, alongside other crime suspects at the police headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, on Thursday, April 22.

The suspect, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) confessed to his crime but said he had slept with only two male pupils.

Speaking with journalists, Olawuyi said the first incident happened when he invited the pupil to his house, ostensibly to help him mark examination scripts.

“It was just two times I did it. They are my students. I had sex through the anus with one of two of my students on different occasions. I don’t have a wife. I am a private primary school teacher. I called the last victim to my house to help me collate scripts while I slept with the second one in the classroom before school hours," he said.

When asked how he convinced them not to tell their parents, Olawuyi, who claimed to have had girlfriends while in school, said;

“I told them that I want to have sex with them and they didn’t argue. Both of them are between the ages of 11 and 14. I told them not to tell their parents because it has health benefits for them."

He further said the situation was giving him concern before his arrest because he didn’t know what led him to it.

"I think it is the devil. I don’t know what led me to this. I just lost my dad last week. I want the government to help me out of this,” he said.
