TB JOSHUA DEFENDS OYAKHILOME –‘WE DON’T DISAGREE, PEOPLE’S UNDERSTANDING DIFFERS

Click for Full Image Size
Prophet T.B. Joshua has countered insinuations that he is fighting with Christ Embassy Pastor Chris Oyakhilome over a session of questions that saw the respected ministers of God produce different answers.

Answering another question from a Facebook fan who was seeking explanation for the Scripture in 1 Corinthians 10:13, Joshua addressed the online uproar that resulted from his answers on the issue of abortion after rape and masturbation and their perceived variance with Oyakhilome’s.

“This reminds me of a recent article in which people put me side by side with my brother Pastor Chris Oyakhilome talking about masturbation,” Joshua wrote on his official Facebook page. “Our brother was referring to Christians, not others. Christians who already have a relationship with God – their wrong is different from others because the root of their wrong is from the flesh, not from the heart,” he explained, attempting to add clarity to Oyakhilome’s much debated explanation about masturbation.

He went further to say, “When the root of your wrong is not from the heart, your wrong will make you to run to God the more. That is, it will intensify your relationship with God. I mean, you will see the need of God the more until His name is glorified.”

T.B. Joshua stated that true men of God were united because “the Bible is our standard” and “our Bible is one”. He suggested that it was people’s understanding that actually differed. “The understanding of people that read us can only differ,” he concluded, evidently showing his support for Oyakhilome who was widely criticised for his controversial responses.

In answering the tricky question about ‘not being tempted beyond what we are able’, the cleric revealed, “It simply means you will not encounter a temptation that will stop you from seeing the need of God. The essence of temptation is to overthrow your position before God but in this case, it does not stop you but encourages you to see the need of God the more because it is from your flesh, not from your heart.”

He went on to differentiate between ‘temptation’ from the heart and the flesh. “If it is from your heart, you will begin to exalt satan, listen to the voice of temptation and act out of character. If it is from your flesh, you will see the need of God the more because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”

He said that Christians do often make mistakes but they have a Mediator in Heaven. “When a Christian makes a mistake, he does not lose his place as a son but loses his fellowship. We can immediately go to God about our behaviors. He will help us to get back on our feet, forgive us and help us not to make the same mistake again.”

Importance of Reading Skills

Students who are immersed in literacy at an early age become lifelong readers.
Whether you are engaged in a novel, pouring over a newspaper or a just looking at a sign, reading skills allow you to interpret and become engaged in the world around you. According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, “Reading is the single most important skill necessary for a happy, productive and successful life.” Developing those skills takes active engagement from an early age.

Reading to Learn

Children today have many opportunities to gather information. Books are not the only tools children are exposed to. Using a smartphone, reading from an electronic tablet or researching on a computer has opened the floodgates for finding and accessing information. A student with the reading skills necessary to access and use information is not just learning to read but reading to learn. With proper reading skills, she can explore topics ranging from how spiders spin silky webs to the details of the Wright brothers' first flight in North Carolina.

Lifelong Readers

Fluency, decoding and vocabulary development are needed to comprehend written material. Readers use these skills to interpret and understand written words on a page. They read often from a wide variety of materials. They read to find out more about the world in which they live and use that information to improve their lives. Lifelong readers think critically about what they’ve read and make connections to their own lives. They apply their skills in language and writing development.

Long-Term Implications

Reading skills, are "essential to function in our society," according to Duane Alexander, director of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, speaking before a congressional subcommittee in 2002. Alexander stated that many children living in poverty lack the skills that will allow them to become lifelong readers. A person with low reading ability may not be able to read signs, understand medical information or prescription directions, or apply for jobs that require basic skills tests.

Successful Students

Whether the author is writing to inform, persuade, give directions or entertain, he is communicating to his audience. A person who can read has the ability to empathize with and connect to the characters in a story. A reader builds background knowledge about many different subjects that he can later use. Students with the necessary reading skills can later develop writing and language skills necessary for academic and professional success.

U-N-B-E-L-I-V-A-B-L-E!!! Igbo Women Are Prostitutes - Gov Rochas Okorocha.

The Imo state Governor, Mr Rochas Okorocha shocked Nigerians on Saturday APC Rally when described Igbo women and mothers as prostitutes, in his frustration of their refusal to attend or support his request for them to join him to his new party, the APC.

While it is still nerve breaking for an executive governor and a titled Igbo son to desend that low to make such low and derogatory remarks against the same women that stick their life to ensure that Okorocha will replace the former Governor Ohakim.

Anyway, and Igbo Proverb said that, "when the gods want to punish any person, they will allow such person to be making a sacrilegious speeches". That's what is happening now in APC rally in Orlu. -

To clear her name from the mess, Ruth has released a statement on the matter.

According to Ruth, “my attention has been drawn to attempts by Biola ige to drag me into the semi n*de picture that has been on the internet for the last one week. I, Ruth Eze, has and will never be involved in such acts and I advise Biola Ige not to drag my name into this mess.”

Before That Beautiful But Deadly Contact Lens Destroy Your Eyes

Click for Full Image Size
People choose to wear contact lenses for many reasons. Aesthetics and cosmetics are often the motivating factors for people who would like to avoid wearing glasses or would like to change the appearance of their eyes.

While some people wear contacts lenses for more visual reasons, others wear them just for fashion. Many Nigerian men and women put on these things without knowing the side effects and most young ladies wear the lenses for fashion sake because it gives them a more different look.

Long-term contact lens use can lead to alterations in corneal thickness, stromal thickness, curvature, corneal sensitivity, cell density, and epithelial oxygen uptake, etc. Other changes may include the formation of epithelial vacuoles and microcysts (containing cellular debris) as well as the emergence of polymegathism in the corneal endothelium.

Decreased corneal sensitivity, vision loss, and photophobia have also been observed in patients who have worn contact lens for an extended period of time. Many contact lens-induced changes in corneal structure are reversible if contact lenses are removed for an extended period of time.

Nigeriafilms.com spoke with a student, Destiny Ehimae Ebunuwele, she said, “yes, I wear them all the time. But I take them out before I go to sleep and put the lenses back in the case with the solution or it will become dry and prone to breaking.”

She further said that, “every morning, after putting your contacts on, pour out your old solutions. Please do not reuse. Make sure you wash your hands before putting them on and try not to let your contacts or solutions get in contact with water. There are organisms in water that can cause an eye infection, so in other words, make sure your hands are completely dry when putting them on. (Nigeriafilms.com)
