Shocking details emerge as woman dies while on vacation with friends in Mexico (see disturbing video)

A hairdresser died while on vacation with friends in Mexico and her parents were told she died of alcohol poisoning, but new details have emerged in her death.

On Oct. 28, 25-year-old Shanquella Robinson left Charlotte, North Carolina, to go on a trip with friends to celebrate one of their birthdays in Cabo, Mexico. A day later, she was dead.

Her parents Bernard and Salamondra Robinson began digging and realized that there was more than the alcohol poisoning they were told led to their daughter's death.

The are now demanding answers in the investigation of their daughter’s death.

On Friday, Nov. 11, Salamondra told Charlotte local news station WBTV 3 that, initially, she was informed her daughter suffered from alcohol poisoning during her trip to Mexico.

Salamondra said: "[I] spoke with her Friday evening (Oct. 28). She was having dinner and I never spoke with her again.

"On Saturday evening, they called and said she wasn’t feeling well, and they were going to call a doctor. And when they called, the doctor hadn’t arrived yet, but they said she had alcohol poisoning."

Shanquella’s group of friends reportedly left her body in their vacation rental and returned home to the United States.

"After they said it was alcohol poisoning, we received the autopsy report on Thursday, and it said that her neck had been broken and she had a back spasm. There was a crack, [her] spinal cord was cracked,” Shanquella's parents told WBTV.

"That took it to a whole ‘nother level because that meant somebody had attacked her," they continued.

"I probably won’t be at ease until someone’s arrested," said Salamondra Robinson, mother of Shanquella Robinson.

The U.S. Department of State is involved in the investigation of the young woman’s death in Mexico.

"We are aware of these reports. Protecting the welfare of U.S. citizens overseas is among our top priorities. Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we have no further comment at this time," they shared in a statement.

A clip of the Robinson’s interview circulated on social media on Nov. 15.

Since then, a video surfaced online of what appears to be cellphone footage of Shanquella naked, being brutally beaten by one of her friends in a bedroom of their vacation rental in Mexico.

Nigeria has many seaports, not only Lagos – Peter Obi calls for decongestion

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed concern over why the Lagos ports are being congested, even with many other deep seaports across the nation.

Obi, in a post on his social media handle on Wednesday, said the congestion of the Lagos ports had created avoidable bottlenecks in the maritime sector when it comes to imports and exports.

“The Nigeria maritime sector is robust and ought to grow stronger. We are blessed with several deep seaports. However, for some inexplicable reason, we tend to cluster our import and export activities around the Lagos ports, thus creating avoidable bottlenecks,” he said.

The former Anambra governor, in his recommendation, said, “We should decongest Lagos ports via a deliberate policy of incentivizing end-destination priorities.”

This, according to him, would “curtail on-land heavy haulage transshipments that take a toll on our road infrastructure.”

I’ve 3 life-threatening illnesses, tell Buhari to grant me medical pass – Nnamdi Kanu begs EU

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has written to the European Union, EU, Delegation to Nigeria over his deteriorating health.

Kanu informed the delegation that he is ill with three life-threatening conditions.

He urged the EU delegation to prevail on the Federal Government to allow him to seek independent medical care.

The IPOB leader made the appeal through his Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, in a letter to the EU delegation.

In the letter sighted by DAILY POST, Kanu lamented that the Nigerian Government had refused to release him despite several court orders granting him bail.

He also urged the EU to prevail on the Nigerian Government to cease and desist from further criminal prosecution and engage him in seeking a political solution to the Biafran question.

The letter reads partly: “Urgent Appeal for the diplomatic and humanitarian intervention of your Mission in urging the Government of Nigeria to implement the Opinion of the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and the Judgment of the Federal High Court of Nigeria regarding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; and in the interim, to accord Mr. Kanu his human right to seek independent medical care for his ailments.

“Your Excellency, in the midst of the forgoing, Mr. Kanu is gravely ill with three life-threatening conditions, namely a serious heart condition, hypertension and low potassium levels. All of these conditions demand specialist medical care and interventions that are not available at the facility where Mr. Kanu is being detained. To date, the GON has refused every request for an independent/specialist medical intervention for Mr. Kanu.

“In view of the foregoing and particularly within the reality of Mr. Kanu’s deteriorating health, we hereby most respectfully present the following Prayers to your Mission and to the European Union governments represented by your Mission.

“Urgently Intervene with the Government of Nigeria (GON), urging it to, in the interim, permit Mr. Kanu his human right to seek independent medical care for his grave health conditions.

“Intervene with GON, urging it to promptly comply with the said Opinion of the United Nations Working Group, particularly as it pertains to the unconditional release of Mr Kanu from detention.

“Intervene with GON, urging it to promptly comply with the ratio of the said judgment of the Federal High Court of Nigeria (Umuahia) by restoring Mr. Kanu to his status quo before 19th June, 2021 and otherwise making him whole as was ordered by the court.

“Intervene with GON, urging it to be guided – in all matters relating to Mr. Kanu – by the letters and spirit of the United Nations Working Group Opinion, the judgment of the Federal High Court of Nigeria (Umuahia), the judgment of the High Court of Abia State and the judgement of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria.

“Your Excellency, our decision to lay this matter before the EU Mission in Nigeria (and by extension, to your home governments) was propelled by the stellar human rights record of the European Union and the supranational diplomatic influence the EU or the Mission can bring to bear on the Government of Nigeria and persuade it to do the right thing. We are also very alarmed at the worsening health conditions of Mr. Kanu, exacerbated by the inhumane detention conditions to which he is being subjected, including his solitary confinement since 27th June, 2021.”

Peter Obi: Anger in South-East over Gov Soludo’s outburst

Tempers are rising in the Southeastern part of the country following revelations that some political leaders and elites from the zone are hell-bent on working against the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi.

The political atmosphere became even more apprehensive within the week following the outburst by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State against Obi.

DAILY POST recalls Governor Soludo, within the week, tackled Obi, saying he couldn’t win the forthcoming presidential election.

In a lengthy statement, Governor Soludo alleged that Obi was only playing a game.

While also throwing shade at Obi’s claim of making huge savings for Anambra State during his tenure, Soludo also said that governments exist to save lives and not to save money.

Part of his statement read, “Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win.

“He knows the game he is playing, and we know too, and he knows that we know. Everyone knows that he is going nowhere, but they are looking for who to blame.”

Soludo’s verbal tirade has been met with anger, with many describing the former as the worst enemy of Ndigbo and the New Nigeria project.

They accused him of being envious of the surging acceptability and rising political profile of the LP presidential candidate, insisting Ndigbo and most Nigerians are united on his presidential bid.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, he described Soludo as a dog in the manger enrolled to discredit Obi’s legacies.

The Ohanaeze scribe further added that “Ndigbo has dragged Governor Soludo to the two famous divinities and deities (Chokoleze in Mbaise and Ubiniukpabi in Arochukwu) for his unreasonable public behaviour.”

Recall also that before now, former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, had made a similar statement calling those supporting Peter Obi and Labour Party saboteurs.

Ihedioha, in a video, said Nigeria could not afford to make mistakes in the 2023 election and that there were two parties in the election, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Checks by DAILY POST revealed that Soludo’s outburst, among other unsavoury attacks, has not gone down well with many, who wondered why politicians of Igbo extraction have chosen to spite one of their own.

A top politician from Anambra State, who spoke to DAILY POST, expressed discontent against some of the political elites from the southeast zone for what he termed a betrayal.

He said, “It is obvious that many Southeast politicians have been hired by the enemies of Nigerians to derail the Obi’s Presidency in 2023.

“The divisive interests amongst Igbo leaders and politicians have continued to ruin the chances of Ndigbo making headway in matters of national importance”.

“Igbos are their own problem. What is his ulterior motive for making that statement against Peter Obi?

“This clearly shows his deep seated hatred for Peter Obi. He just found an opportunity to unleash it,” he added.

Shocked by Governor Soludo’s tirade against Obi, he further disclosed: “I never believed Soludo would be attacking his brother (Obi) in a time like this, all in the name of politics; I feel like crying.

“Southeast leaders will never speak against all the bad things against the region but are always quick to speak against their brother.

“Is it not shocking that the zone had the most invalid registration by INEC with the least registration but none of them made an inquiry about what caused it.

“Southeast deserves better leaders because most of our leaders have failed us. The many problems we have today are caused by our leaders.”

Don’t die for any politician, they’re friends struggling for national cake – Kukah warns

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah has cautioned loyalists of politicians not to kill themselves in demonstrating support for their candidates.

According to the erudite priest, opposition politicians are friends jostling for their piece of the national cake and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Kukah spoke on ChannelsTV Tuesday hours after the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu; and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, were pictured chatting at the private wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday.

Kukah, who is the Convener of the National Peace Committee, said political fanatics should learn a lesson from the public exchange of pleasantries between Tinubu and Atiku.

“These politicians are struggling and they’ve lived their lives struggling for the national cake which they will distribute amongst themselves. It is therefore in the interest of ordinary Nigerians to know that they have to vote to stay alive,” the revered cleric said.

Kukah also said that enthusiasts of politicians “must understand that these politicians know themselves” regardless of their grandstanding and posturing.

He, therefore, advised supporters of candidates all over the country to be “a bit more restrained and wise”.

“We ordinary people must figure out how to manage our passion when it comes to politics. Don’t take seriously the grandstanding of the politicians.

“All the things you see about them abusing themselves or quarreling, you will think they will never shake hands. They are very good friends, and many of them drink from the same pool. So, don’t go and kill yourself for nothing. That is what that message is all about,” he said.

Buhari stopped Nigeria from sinking – Tinubu

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu has credited President Muhammadu Buhari for saving Nigeria from “sinking”.

The flagbearer made the comment during his campaign on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Tinubu promised to build on the successes of the Buhari administration.

He listed infrastructure, agriculture and the war against terrorists as some areas of achievements.

Tinubu said the country was insecure pre-2015, and that Buhari’s intervention was sought.

“We turned to retired Gen. Buhari and he embarked on rehabilitation, recovery and redeeming of Nigeria.

“Nigeria was sinking but Buhari pulled us out and said that Nigeria will not sink in his time and in the time of the APC.”

The former Lagos govenor added that terrorists’ flags are no longer visible in local governments and communities.
