Again, Asari-Dokubo warns Tompolo to stay away from Rivers, Bayelsa over pipeline surveillance contract

Former militant leader and founder of the Niger-Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has once again, attacked the founder of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger-Delta (MEND), Government Ekpemukpolo, also known as Tompolo, over a multibillion naira pipeline surveillance contract awarded to him (Tompolo), by the Federal Government.

Again, Asari-Dokubo warns Tompolo to stay away from Rivers, Bayelsa over pipeline surveillance contract
Dokubo had, in a social media video on Saturday, lampooned Tompolo over the contract, wondering why the FG should award such a contract to the Delta State-based Tompolo. He also warned that Tompolo should stay away from Rivers and Bayelsa states.

Resuming the war of words in another video on Monday morning, the NDPVF founder warned Tompolo not to get anywhere near any pipeline in the Kalabari area of Rivers, where he comes from and is also a king.

In the video, Dokubo is heard saying the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, facilitated the contract for Tompolo to spite him because of past disagreements between the two.

He also bragged in the video that he “would serve it hot to anybody who entered his Kalabari homeland in connection with an oil pipeline.”

“You (Tompolo) took pipeline contract in Delta, your place, and then you come to Kalabari to take pipeline contract because you are an Ijaw man; because only you know how to chop.

“You take from Gbaramatu land, you take Itsekiri people own, you take Urhobo people own, you take Isoko people own, you take Kwale people own, you take all.

“You take the whole of Bayelsa own and then you come to Kalabari. If Timipre Sylva gave you because he wants to clip my wings, when he was a House of Assembly member, did I clip his wing?

“I am older than he is. When he was governor, did I clip his wings? That I am becoming too powerful, so he connived and gave pipeline contract so that he will destroy what we are doing to make the government he is part of, stable.

“Therefore, he brought Tompolo and Tompolo gathered people and told them he would buy guns and give them. Let them come. I am not boasting. I think soldiers will guard him here. Let them come. I did not talk about Rivers state. I said Kalabari. They cannot take it. Let them take any place they like, not Kalabari.

“You are collecting over N4.5 billion a month for doing nothing and people come to Oporoza to support you. Leave the pipeline in Kalabari here, you cannot take it. Take other places, it is Ijaw land, yes. But this one in Kalabari, you cannot take it.

“People say Tompolo saved me. Where did Tompolo save me? I am the one that saved Tompolo. People are alive, they know. Does Tompolo leave Oporoza? Does he not know me? Saved me where, how?

“I took my things there. I went to fight them with my men. When I want my things back, they did not agree to give me. Tompolo brought 48 rifles for me which I take go. Did they give me one human being? I take my boat go, I take my guns to go, I take my General Purpose Machine Gun, GPMG go, take my rocket launchers go in 1998/1999, 2003.

“Igbo blood flows in my vein, so that is it. I come from five generations of educated people; I went to the school when some of you were in the bush. If anybody has betrayed Ijaw nation, they are the ones. Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is dead today.

“Even the amnesty they took is sabotaged because of them. In their greed to have everything to themselves, they destroyed everything. We want to take chairman, managing director of NDDC. I must be the person to nominate, NDDC, NIMASA, I must be the person to nominate.

“These are the people and betrayers, evil men that have kept Ijaw land like this, believing that they must have everything at the expense of other people. You are saying Tompolo saved me, how? Since we have been fighting, did you hear Army has entered my camp before since I fought?

“They destroyed his Camp-5 in three days. Until today, the army is in Camp-5, which is a military base. Since we have been fighting, did you hear the army sent troops to my camp?”

Women also sexually harass females in the industry – Mummy Wa reveals

Nigerian skit-maker and actress, Kemi Ikuseedun, also known as Mummy Wa, has said that men are not the only ones guilty of sexual harassment in the entertainment industry.

The lady, who is also called Kemz Mama said it may come as shock to many, but women also engage in sex-for-roles with fellow women.

Mummy Wa, stated this in an interview with Saturday Beats, noting that such things will always be a part of the system.

She said; “I feel like it’s general in the entertainment industry. There will always be things like that. Some men ask for some things, and some women ask for some things as well. You will be shocked. But, if you know what you want to do, just get at it. You don’t need anyone who wants to have sex with you just because of a skit. It does not show real talent. One does not need to feel pressured.”

When questioned about her reason for dressing like an elderly woman in many of her skits, Kemz said it is just a character and not intended to ward off advances.

“The character is that of a mother. I am depicting the an old generation mother,” she said.

The content creator also said consistency was responsible for what she had been able to achieve with her career.

She said; “People are always watching. They know when one is consistent. You will be shocked to know that people have been watching.”

Man pays arsonist N5000 and four measures of rice to kill newly-married woman for jilting him

Adamawa police command has arrested one Ibrahim Muhammadu for allegedly conspiring with another man to set ablaze a newly married woman and her husband because she jilted him.

The police said the suspect from Gadawaliwol in Jabbi Lamba, Girei Local Government Area, hired someone to set the couple on fire on September 6, barely two weeks after their wedding.

The woman died on Saturday September 10, due to severe burns while the man is still receiving treatment in the hospital.

It was gathered that Ibrahim Muhammadu who is married with four children, fell in love with the deceased and spent about N150, 000 on her after she agreed to marry him.

The deceased after allegedly collecting the money, declined the proposal and got married to another suitor: the man currently battling with his life at the hospital.

Angered by this, Muhammadu gave one Ibrahim Savanna N5,000 and four measures of rice to get the couple killed.

After collecting the money and the rice, Ibrahim Savanna, armed with petrol and matches, went to the room of the couple in the night and set it on fire after locking it up.

The Nation reported that the arsonist ran off and had not been found. Muhammadu has been arrested and is currently being detained by the police.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed this, saying the Criminal Investigation Department of the Command is investigating the matter after which the suspect would be charged to court.

He assured that the suspect would be duly investigated and prosecuted, advising the general public to desist from taking the law into their own hands.

Sit-at-home order: IPOB orders total lockdown in Southeast Tuesday

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has declared a sit-at-home across the Southeast on Tuesday next week.

IPOB tagged the sit-at-home, a day of civil action across the Southeast.

The group declared the order ahead of the Appeal Court hearing of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned visit to the Southeast.

A statement by IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said the sit-at-home would be a total lockdown of the Southeast.

IPOB explained that it was implementing the existing sit-at-home order regarding Kanu’s court appearance.

The statement reads partly: “The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our indefatigable liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, wish to announce to the general public, especially Biafrans that Tuesday 13th of September has been declared a day of civil action in the form of sit-at-home in Biafra Land.

“The Tuesday 13th September, 2022 civil action is very important for two reasons:

“First, our leader’s Appeal court hearing that was supposed to be on October 11th has been brought forward to 13th September, 2022. As usual we call on Biafrans and lovers of freedom to demonstrate our solidarity with our leader who has been bearing our yoke in detention for over a year now.

“There shall be a TOTAL LOCKDOWN of the whole of Biafraland on Tuesday the 13th of September 2022. The Imposter Buhari cannot be coming to Imo State while he continues to detain our leader Mazi Nnamdi in the DSS custody.”

The separatist group urged people of the Southeast to go about their Monday’s activities and prepare for Tuesday’s lockdown completely.”

The IPOB leader also reiterated its call for the unconditional release of its leader.

“How God miraculously rearranged my broken bones after being involved in an accident” — Lady recounts

Lady recounts

A lady has narrated the miraculous story of how God healed her broken bones after being involved in a fatal accident.

Taking to Twitter@natachyy said the accident occurred when she was in secondary school and she was bedridden for weeks due to the injuries she sustained.

She said one day, she overheard the doctor saying she might never be able to walk again or give birth naturally because of her fractured pelvis.

Lady recounts

The young lady said she was shattered inside and wept profusely, and prayed a simple and short prayer to God for healing.

According to her, within minutes, she felt the sudden urge to use the toilet and took the courage to stand up on her feet but fell back on the bed.

She said she then heard the sound of her bones cackling and rearranging themselves before she fell into a deep sleep. When she woke up, she was fine and could walk again.

Read her full tweet below,

“I had an accident in secondary school that kept me bedridden for weeks. Scattered left pelvis and half of my face gone.

Was sleeping when I heard the doctor saying that due to the serious fracture in my pelvis, I could never walk or be able to have natural birth.

I cried uncontrollably then said a minute prayer in my mind

“ God, I’m not better than any disabled person out there and I’m not saying you don’t love them but this isn’t how I planned my life to be. I’m not promising much but I’ll try my best to be a better person”

In less than 3 minutes, I needed to use the restroom but there wasn’t anyone around to help me. The door was locked and nurses couldn’t hear me. I struggled to stand just by the bedside. I fell back on my bed, the next thing I heard was the sound of my bones ðŸ¦´ rearranging and I was screaming but no one could hear me. I fell into deep sleep after screaming (not sure how long) I woke up and walked to the toilet. I was in there when my sister came in and started looking around for me.

She didn’t bother to check the restroom because I couldn’t possibly be in there, considering the pelvic fracture.

She alerted the doctors and nurses and they were asking what happened. She thought I was probably dead and carried out.

I couldn’t speak because I was so tired, I opened the toilet and walked out. They all stood there astonished that I could walk.

Years later, I ran half marathon ðŸ˜©

I’ve had so many encounters with God that no one can convince me He’s not real. He loves me, this I’m SURE.”

Some Nigerians intentionally went blind, deaf, lost their memory to deny Buhari’s achievements – Presidential aide, Femi Adesina

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has said that some Nigerians have gone deaf, blind, and lost their memories with regards to all of President Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements.

Some Nigerians intentionally went blind, deaf, lost their memory to deny Buhari?s achievements ? Presidential aide, Femi Adesina

Adesina disclosed this in an article titled: “Buhari’s footprints from home to Diaspora,” which he shared on his official Facebook page. According to him, some Nigerians have afflicted themselves with willful blindness, deafness and amnesia just to erase the footprints of President Buhari.

His post in part reads:

“Unless you are the discerning type, listening to public discourse today, you would think the only thing happening in the country is insecurity. Yes, Nigeria has battled, and is still battling grave security issues. But it will win. As sure as night follows the day. In fact, insurgents and bandits are being put on the back foot already. Nigeria shall win.

However, the footprints of President Muhammadu Buhari are visible in many areas of our national life, and will remain indelible. At least for those who are fair, and open-minded, not those who have afflicted themselves with willful blindness, deafness and amnesia. One area where President Buhari will never be forgotten is in diaspora matters. How the country relates with its nationals abroad, taps into their skills and capacities, takes care of their needs, and generally gives them a sense of inclusion in national affairs.

In 2017, Buhari saw to the enactment of the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (Establishment) Act, which provides for the engagement of Nigerians in diaspora in the policies, projects and participation in the development of Nigeria, and for the purpose of utilizing the human capital and material resources of Nigerians in diaspora towards the overall socio-economic, cultural and political development of the country.”

“Every week, we hold the State House Press Briefing organized by the Presidential Communications Team. And who was our guest last week? Hon Abike Dabiri, who had a lot to unfold, justifying why Buhari is known today as the ‘Most Loving Diaspora President’ we’ve had.

Nigeria boasts of great human resources, both at home and in diaspora. But it is one thing to have the rich resources, it’s another thing to harness them. That is what NIDCOM, with the active support of the President, is doing.

Who is a diaspora? A Nigerian who lives and works abroad, and who maintains links with the country and shows clear interest in contributing to her development in diverse ways. We are not talking of Nigerians who have ‘japa’ (to use a popular local lingo), and who have resolved to have nothing to do with motherland again. Some even stay abroad, and start throwing stones at their country, calling it all sorts of names.

In terms of financial remittances, see what our diaspora have done in the past three years. Mind you, we are talking of funds remitted through official channels, which can be tracked and recorded, and not unofficial ones.

To show the national acceptability that President Buhari has given to diaspora matters, Abia and Edo States have also set up Diaspora Commissions, and signed bills into law. We are sure making progress. From Washington to Russia, France, South Africa, Rwanda, Portugal, India, and many other countries, President Buhari has held Town Hall meetings with Nigerians resident abroad. When there were flare-ups in South Africa, Libya, Lebanon, Ukraine, and other places, he promptly brought willing Nigerians back home, not minding cost.

Truly, we have with us the Most Diaspora Friendly President, and this, among others, will stand him in good stead, when he breasts the tape in May, next year. But insecurity? Let the naysayers wait and see. Even that, will become history''
