A seven-year-old boy was tied to a pole and covered in honey to attract bees by his dad as a punishment.

The boy, identified simply as Muhammad D, was cruelly punished after a neighbour accused him of theft in Egypt.

His dad, 34, is said to have tied the boy to a pole before covering him with honey to attract bees to sting him.

The dad, who has not been named, then reportedly placed his son on the roof of their house.

It is unclear how long the boy was left on the roof but swarms of bees and mosquitoes gathered on the boy's body while he was there and, as his hands were tied behind him, he couldn't swat the insects away.

According to local reports, the boy’s mum, 29, was horrified when she saw her son’s punishment and decided to seek help from a child rescue group. She also took pictures of the disturbing scene with her phone, with the images now being used as evidence against the dad.

The father has been arrested following the incident at a village in the region of Shebin El Qanater on Tuesday, May 25.

The boy's mum, who is reportedly now staying in a different village, also claimed the man beats her and looks for new ways to torture their child.

Open Tik Tok, Snapchat accounts – Shehu Sani mocks Buhari over deleted tweet

Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari after his Tweet was deleted.

Recall that Nigerians had called for the suspension of Buhari’s Twitter account for allegedly threatening Southeasterners.

Buhari had said ‘individuals or groups who want to destroy his government would receive the shock of their lives.

The president, who was reacting to national assets’ destruction, in the southeast, said those responsible would be treated in a language they will understand.

Buhari’s comment had elicited outrage by Nigerians.

Following the development, Twitter had deleted the comment, saying it violated its rules.

Now a former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has mockingly urged the president to open a Tik Tok or Snapchat account.

In a tweet, Sani wrote: “Baba should just go to Tik Tok or Snapchat and continue to shock.”

Lately, gunmen and criminals have been attacking government facilities in the Southeast.

Police Stations and offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had been razed.

However, security agencies have blamed the secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB for the destruction.

Buhari’s threat to South-East: Popular Enugu politician, Chinedu Eya writes ICC, US, UK

Former Enugu North Senatorial Aspirant, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chinedu P. Eya, has reported President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet threatening to shock Nigerians who are out to destroy his government to the President of the international Criminal Court, Judge Piotr HofmaÅ„ski in Hague, Netherlands, the United States President, Joe Biden and the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

This is coming following Buhari’s tweet where he had warned of coming hard on those against his Government, similar to the civil war action.

This has not gone down well with generality of Nigerians, with heavy knocks on the President and many people reporting him to Tweeter.

Tweeter responded by deleting the tweet, stating that it went against its policy.

Eya, has now taken his protest higher by penning letters to the international community.

In a series of letter to the trio, made available to newsmen on Thursday, with the caption, “threats of ethnic cleansing by President Muhammadu Buhari against Southeasterners in Nigeria”, the former Enugu Senatorial Aspirant cited ‘marginalization, unfair treatment and accumulated injustices’ as reasons Southeasterners feel unsafe in Nigeria.

According to him, “President Buhari’s outburst shows his preparedness to deploy the instrumentalities of the nation, particularly the Nigerian army against a region, crying and yearning for equity, fairness and justice from their oppressor – Northern Nigeria, who go by the slogan, “Born to Rule” and who for, as long as God knows will continue to subjugate and pervert the collective interest of ‘Ndigbo’ as we are known and addressed.

“I am writing the International Criminal Court (ICC), because they have the responsibility to investigate and, where warranted, try individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community such as genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression which is the situation we have found ourselves in the hands of the present federal government, led by Muhammadu Buhari.

“And I am writing UK on two grounds: one, because the conflagration or what was known as amalgamation of the Southern and Northern proletariat which became Nigeria in 1914 was done by your statesman, Lord Lugard (who is author of our present predicament). And secondly, I am writing you this letter because the United Kingdom, and the United States of America cannot afford to keep quiet at this trying time of Southeasterners, especially with the recent unguarded verbiage by Mr. President.

“I am writing US on another two major reasons: one, because of the fact that United States is a major player in both international politics and maintenance of world peace and order. Secondly, because of obvious bilateral relationship between Nigera and the United States of America, which is the binding cord between both Nations for many years without breaches,” he added.

No Mass Retirement Of Senior Officers In Military ― DHQ

The Military High Command on Thursday refuted rumours of a looming mass retirement of senior officers in the military following the appointment of Major General Faruk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

Acting Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko made the clarification in Abuja while updating Defence correspondents on the operational efforts of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies conducting operations to tackle insecurity in the country.

According to him, “At this point, you are all aware of the appointment of the new Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya. This has stirred up a lot of rumours in the media about mass retirements in the military

“I wish to use this medium to dispel such unfounded rumours. Retirement is only on a voluntary basis for senior officers who desire to do so

“At this point, no retirement has been authorised by the Military High Command.”

Major General Yahaya was appointed the new COAS following the death of General Ibrahim Attahiru in a plane crash in Kaduna State last month.

Since the appointment, there had been series of reports in the media over the possible forceful retirement of several senior officers.

A bar worker allegedly sliced off her boss’ p3nis with a knife as he tried to r*pe her.

The waitress told Spanish police she was trying to resist a s.e.x attack in a venue just outside of Barcelona.

The unnamed woman, a Bangladeshi national said to be aged around 35, “handed herself in” to admit the alleged assault.

Her manager was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation so medics could attempt to reattach his penis.

It was not immediately clear this morning if the surgery had been a success.

The incident occurred around 2am on Tuesday at a bar in Sant Andreu de la Barca.

The woman is being held at a nearby police station following her early-hours arrest.

Detectives have opened an investigation into her claims she was acting in self-defence and have not ruled out the arrest of the bar owner once he is well enough to be quizzed.

Local police chief Oscar Carreras said the probe was still at an “early stage”, adding: “The investigation is focused on discovering what happened inside the bar.

“The injured man went to a police station in Sant Andreu de la Barca.

“A woman subsequently appeared at the same police station and made a series of comments in relation to this incident.

“We have aided the injured person and he was taken to hospital to be operated on for the serious wounds to his genital area.

“The woman was questioned and in her initial statement said she had been the victim of a s3xual crime and that is something we are investigating.

“The man is the owner of the bar and the woman was working in that bar.”
Well-placed police sources said the woman had told them she had been harassed for months and had been forced by her boss to have sex on several occasions before she assaulted him with a knife during a new alleged rape attempt.

The source added: “The woman went to police herself to explain what had happened.

“She said she had cut off her boss’ p3nis as he tried to s3xually assault her.

“Her claims are being investigated and the bar owner may be arrested once the hospital say he is well enough to be questioned.”

The emergency surgery took place at Bellvitge Hospital in the town of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

Senate passes bill abolishing HND/BSc discrimination

The Senate, on Wednesday, read for the third time and passed a Bill that seeks to end discrimination between First Degrees graduates from universities and Higher National Diploma (HND) holders from polytechnics in the country.

The passage of the Bill followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Joint Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters; and Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, during plenary.

Chairman of the Joint Committee, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, in his report, said: “The enactment of the bill to abolish and prohibit discrimination between First Degrees and Higher National Diploma for the purpose of employment in Nigeria will no doubt free holders of HND from stagnation and ensure balanced treatment with their counterparts from other higher tertiary institutions in Nigeria.”

He added that the abolishment of the existing dichotomy between HND holders and graduates of Universities would meet the huge manpower needs of Nigerians, ensure social justice and enhanced corporate governance as well encourage patriotic contributions amongst HND employees in both public and private sectors.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, in his contribution, said the passage of the Bill would serve as motivation for polytechnic graduates.

He called on the public and private sectors to ensure the implementation of the Bill’s provisions as soon as it is signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“This particular issue has been in the front burner for a long time. I recall that in the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007, this was one bill that was so important, and is one way of encouraging our Polytechnic graduates.

“That should not take away from the kind of training they receive, but, in fact, it is supposed to be a motivation for our polytechnic graduates.

“I pray that the Federal Government and all those government agencies and the private sector would start to implement this by the time the President assents to this Bill.”

The Bill which was sponsored by Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyelure seeks to resolve the lingering controversy, discrimination and wage and entry level disparity against HND holder in the public and private sectors of the economy.

It also seeks to promote Nigeria’s technological advancement by encouraging many qualified candidates to pursue polytechnic and technological studies.

It could be recalled that in his lead debate during the second reading of the Bill, Senator Akinyelure had insisted that discrimination against HND holders could ruin the nation’s core policy thrust of evolving a technological and scientifically based society.

Findings, he said, had proved that some polytechnic graduates were in some cases better on the field than their university counterparts.

Nigerian Rapper, Falz Rubbishes Buhari’s Statement On Insecurity

Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s speech on insecurity challenges in the country.

Naija News reports that the Nigerian rapper and songwriter took to his verified Twitter account hours ago to describe as rubbish the threat issued by Buhari over recent killings and destruction of government facilities in the Southeastern parts of the country.

Recall that President Buhari yesterday after a security briefing with members of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over attack on its facilities, threatened to deal with those who carried out the attacks.

Buhari said such individuals or groups seeking to destroy his government will receive the shock of their lives, adding that they will be treated in a language they will understand.

The president’s statement has, however, generated a barrage of reactions as Nigerians home and abroad called out the president for threatening the Igbo speaking people with war.

Joining thousands of Nigerians in reacting to Buhari’s speech, Falz wondered if the president has treated dreaded Boko Haram terrorists and bandits killing innocent Nigerians in a language they understand.

He tweeted:  ”What is this? Have you treated Boko Haram with the “language they understand?” What about the kidnappers & bandits?

”Today you go to London, tomorrow Paris. You are now coming here to tweet rubbish.''
