I live along the expressways to make kidnapping easy for me - Suspected kidnapper tells police

A 20-year-old suspected kidnapper, Ahmad Muhammad, pictured above, has told men of the Osun State Police Command that he decided to live along expressways so that it will be easy for himself and other members of his gang to abduct their victims at will.

Muhammad, who is from Tambuwal community in Sokoto State, was arrested at Wasinmi, a village along Ife/Ibadan Expressway.

While being paraded at the police headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital, Muhammad said he is a member of a seven-man gang of kidnappers who abducted passengers on the expressway, adding that he was arrested during a shoot-out with police.

“We kidnapped two people along Ibadan/Gbongan Expressway after we made a roadblock. The police were alerted and they faced my gang in a gun battle during which my other gang members ran away with the kidnapped victims. It is painful that my other gang members left me alone in that bush and ran away.

It was easy for the police to arrest me because I don’t know the routes in that bush and I could not trace my steps to the place where my other gang members escaped to.”

He said his other gang members are Fulanis and gave their names as Alhaji, Buba, Siraju, Sadiq, Saidu.

“My gang members are all Fulani and they are not new in the business, it is a means of survival. I don’t have a shelter, I live along the expressway. I live on the road to make operation ease” Muhammad said

IPOB condemns Miyetti Allah's decision to deploy 5000 vigilantes to the South East

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB has condemned plans by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to deploy 5,000 vigilantes to the South-East region.

The Miyetti Allah group had recently announced it will be deploying the vigilantes to protect herders and their cattle in the South East.

In a statement released by its Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, IPOB said it was ready to resist the plan by Miyetti Allah, adding that the position of the cattle breeders association was an insult on Igbo land.

“The attention of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra has been drawn to the threat by Miyetti Allah to deploy 5,000 jihadists to Biafra land to protect their cows and herders following the floating of Ebube Agu security outfit by South-East governors.

We consider this utterance an insult to the entire Biafra and won’t tolerate it despite our grievances against the treacherous South-East governors and the political elite.

The Miyetti Allah and their terrorists group should know that they shouldn’t play God forever. They are trying to provoke ESN and IPOB to take a drastic action.  IPOB and ESN are running out of patience with their insults.”he said.
