Pictures of the dead being buried and details from their last minutes before being executed have been released to the media. According to the pastors who were with them in their final hours, Andrew Chan, Myuran Sukumaran and the other 6 death row inmates declined to wear blindfolds and were singing as they were shot by a 13-member firing squad in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The 8 men chose to face their executioners and spent their last minutes on earth praising God and singing songs which included ‘Amazing Grace’. On Wednesday morning, Pastor Christie Buckingham – who read Chan and Sukumaran their last rites – said the 8 death row inmates walked out onto the killing field singing religious songs in the moments before they were executed. Pastor Buckingham said the men conducted themselves with ‘dignity and strength until the end’. Another pastor, Karina de Vega, said it was a ‘beautiful experience’

More Nigerians still to be executed in Indonesia – Hon. Abike Dabiri

The Chairperson House Committee on Diaspora matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said there are more Nigerians waiting to be executed in Indonesia. 

Speaking on Channels TV News at 10 last night, Hon Abike said a federal government delegation in which she was part of in 2008 visited Indonesia and found there were 21 Nigerians who were on death row in Indonesia for drug related offenses. She said nothing can be done as its the law in Indonesia. She said every 5m you walk, a sign is displayed saying the penalty for drug trafficking is death.

NDLEA Arrests Kenyan Dancer in Possession of Drugs at MMIA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), said on Tuesday that it had arrested a 42-year-old Kenyan female dancer with cocaine weighing 5.345kg at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos. 

 Mitchell Ofoyeju, spokesman of the agency, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos. He said that the dancer, identified as Samira Johnson, allegedly concealed the narcotics in some school bags. “The suspect was found in possession of four blue parcels of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine weighing 5.345kg. Johnson, who was born in Mombasa, travelled with a Kenyan international passport with number A1536020. She departed Bujumbura in Burundi en-route Nairobi to Lagos on a Kenyan Airways flight. During routine screening, she was found with four parcels of cocaine concealed in school bags. She claimed to be a professional dancer in Kenya. She claimed she was given the school bags in Bujumbura by a friend to deliver in Nigeria. Two Nigerian auto parts dealers based in Uganda (names withheld) were equally caught importing 6.250kg of cocaine and 1.490kg of heroin, respectively, into the country. All the cases are being investigated and I urge members of the public to report suspected drug traffickers to the nearest NDLEA office. The suspects will be charged to court soon,’’ he said.

Robbers Shot Man Death 3 Days To His Wedding

 His friends sent in the sad news! May his soul rest in peace, amen.

This young man was murdered by armed robbers on his way to Abuja on Monday April 27th, just three days to his traditional wedding and five days to his white wedding which was supposed to be 2nd of May.

 

May God grant his would be wife and his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.

Tragedy: Two Children Found Dead in Deep Freezer In Delta State

Confusion and sadness reigned in Owa Alero, Ika North-east local government area of Delta State, last Thursday, when the family of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Oseni discovered the corpses of two of their children, David Oseni, 6, and Shedrack, 4, inside their parents’ deep-freezer, purportedly used for their ‘iced block’ business.

According to reports, the children were found frozen, definitely had been there for some time. All efforts to revive them proved abortive, as they were confirmed dead from hypothermia, Leadership
reports.

The Osenis, natives of Etsako, Edo State, have been living in Owa Alero, the ancestral home of the mother.

Neighbours revealed that the parents had locked the children indoors and went to conduct their daily businesses after they returned from their holiday classes, only to discover the tragedy upon their return.

The father, Oseni,  said he had taken the generator for repairs and, upon returning, powered it on to confirm its state, before loading it for the next day’s business.

“After 25 minutes, I lifted the top to check if the freezer was working properly, only to behold the lifeless bodies of David and Shedrack in the freezer. I raised the alarm, calling the public to the scene. 

The children were immediately rushed to a private hospital where they were both confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. The police at the Divisional Office, Owa Oyibu, were contacted and investigations are on to unravel the mystery behind the tragedy,” Oseni said. 

Amber Rose and Machine Gun Kelly Dating!

Ever since Amber Rose filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa last year, she's been linked to a wide variety of rebound dudes.

Amber spent a lot of time with Gene Simmons' son Nick right after her split from Wiz, and she briefly dated French Montana's brother shortly thereafter.

Even if you're not familiar with Kelly's music, you may know him from his bizarre fashion choices. He recently rocked some sort of open toga thing that showed off his heavily-tatted torso (above) at the MTV Movie Awards.

In a sense, Amber's attraction to MGK makes perfect sense. Like Wiz, he's a heavily-inked rapper/professional pothead. The two MCs even collaborated on Kelly's single "Mind of a Stoner."

Considering Amber is still in love with Wiz (by her own admission), it makes sense that she'd fall for his Caucasian doppelganger.

However, we can't help but feel that Amber is repeating the same mistake that burned her so recently.

After Wiz was caught cheating on her, Rose blamed the infidelity on his youth and the fact that he was caught up in the lifestyle of a hip hop star.

So...she decided to get involved with an even younger rapper?!

Granted, the Guns and Roses relationship hasn't been confirmed yet, but TMZ reports that Kelly was just spotted picking Amber up at the airport, and we all know it doesn't get any more serious than that.

Crime: Teenager Rapes a Two-year-old Girl in Lagos

A two-year-old toddler has been raped by one Azeez Ganiyu, after she was abducted from her residence on Giwa Street, Ijora Badia, Lagos State.

The incident happened on April 16 at about 10am after the victim’s mother left her in a room with a neighbour to buy food at a nearby shop.

According to PUNCH Metro, 16-year-old Ganiyu abducted the girl when she walked outside to play with other children. He reportedly took her to an uncompleted building, said to be a few kilometers
away from the victim parents’ house, and raped her.

Precious’ mother and neighbours were thrown into confusion when they did not see the girl in the surroundings. After minutes of fruitless search, it was learnt that the mother suddenly heard a baby screaming and traced the voice to the uncompleted building, where she allegedly met Ganiyu committing the crime.

Precious was taken to a hospital where it was medically confirmed that she had been raped. And the suspect, who also resides in the community, was later arrested by the police at the Ijora Badia Police Division.

The police subsequently arraigned Ganiyu before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court on one count of rape. The charge read:

“That you, Azeez Abdulganiyu (16), on April 16, 2015, at about 10am on Giwa Street, Ijora Badia, Lagos in the Apapa Magisterial District, did unlawfully have carnal knowledge of a two-year-old girl.”

The police prosecutor, Inspector Olusoji Ojaokomo, told the court that the offence contravened provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty before the presiding magistrate, Mr. P.A. Adekomaya.

The magistrate ordered that the defendant’s case file be transferred to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. And adjourned till May 5, 2015.

Era Of Trekking: Man Rides Bicycle from Kaduna to Lagos to Thank Yorubas For Their Support On Buhari Victory

A 35-year-old Kaduna-born cyclist and supporter of the president-elect, Mohammed Kabiru Jafaru, yesterday embarked on a journey to meet with the vice president-elect in Lagos State.

Mohammed, a resident of Hayin Malam Bello in Rigasa district of Igabi local government area of Kaduna State, took off on his journey to Lagos at exactly 6: 35am at the palace of Sarkin Hayin Malam Bello, Alhaji Kabiru Isa Gangarida.

Speaking to newsmen before embarking on the journey, Mohammed said:

“I have decided to embark on this journey to Lagos because I want to go and thank Yoruba people for their immense support and contributions that led to the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari during the March 28 presidential election. 

The decision to undertake the journey came to my mind after analysing the votes cast for Buhari by the Yoruba people and after I discussed my intention with my immediate family and friends, they encouraged me to go on the journey.”

Mohammed, a father of four who lives at Goro road in Hayin Malam Bello, further said:

“I have never been to Lagos before; this is my first time and only God knows how many days I will spend before reaching Lagos”.

Asked whether he has any fear about the journey, Mohammed said:

“I don’t have any fear because I believe in God that nothing will happen to me on the road; all I want is people’s prayers so that I will reach Lagos safely.”

Also speaking, an APC chieftain in the state, Hon. Kailani Mohammed, said Mohammed Kabiru will be received by the vice president-elect, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and other prominent members of the APC in Lagos on his arrival, and wished Mohammed a safe trip.
