The outbreak of Ebola has been traced to a 2 year old boy in a remote village in Guinea.
CNN reported that the two year old boy, called Patient Zero died
December 6th 2013 after suffering from symptoms synonymous to that of
fever, accompanying it with black stool and vomiting. It was reported
that the boy died few days after he suffered from the pawns of the
disease recently known as Ebola.
But few days after he died, his mother, his 3 year old sister, his
grandmother and a mid wife who was caring for him when he was ill also
followed suit days after one another. with his mum and sister dying
before the end of December 2013 after suffering bleeding symptoms, and
his grandmother, January 1st while the mid-wife died February 11th. The
disease infected many of their family members who died in March 2014.
Although scientists did not know how the little boy came in contact
with the deadly virus, as it can only be contracted from handling
infected chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, monkeys, forest antelope and
porcupines.
The virus spread from the Southern Guinea village to other parts of
Africa after villagers from Sierra Leone and Liberia, who share a border
with the village, attended the grandmother’s burial. Two of the funeral
attendees fell ill and the virus spread from their families to their
villages and to health care workers and family members taking care of
patients. And eventually, Patrick Sawyer brought it to Nigeria!

Robin Williams Dead at 63 of Suspected Suicide
According to The Associated Press, the former Oscar winner and veteran actor committed suicide inside his Northern California home.
The Marin County Sheriff's Office reports that authorities responded to a 911 call just before noon yesterday and found the star’s unresponsive body on the scene; a coroner suspects suicide due to asphyxia.
Williams went back to rehab last month to focus on sobriety and insiders confirm alcohol remained an issue for him up to the very end.
He struggled with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the early 1980s, but had been sober for over two decades until recently.

He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting and had just starred last TV season in the fall sitcom The Crazy Ones.
UPDATE: Says the actor's rep via statement:
"Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."
The role that started it all. Robin Williams starred as an alien on the late 1970s sitcom Mork & Mindy.

Official: Barcelona sign Vermaelen from Arsenal
The Belgium international passed a medical earlier on
Saturday and has now completed a move to the Catalan club for a fee of
€19m
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has completed a €19 million move to Barcelona, the Catalan club confirmed on Saturday.
The centre-back agreed to join Luis Enrique's side late last week after rejecting the overtures of Manchester United in favour of a summer switch to Camp Nou. The Belgium international flew in to Barcelona on Saturday morning for his medical ahead of the transfer, which will cost the Catalans an initial €15m and an additional €4m in extras.
"FC Barcelona and Arsenal FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Belgian player, who will sign for the next five seasons," the club revealed on their website.
Arsenal also confirmed the deal on their official site, releasing a statement which read: "Thomas Vermaelen has agreed to join Barcelona in a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.
"Vermaelen passed his medical in Barcelona on Saturday. His transfer is subject to the completion of the normal regulatory process. Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Thomas for his contribution during his time at the club and wish him well for the future." The 28-year-old has been blighted by injuries over the last few seasons and was given a thorough, two-part examination by Barca at the Hospital de Barcelona and later at the Clinica de la Creu Blanca on Saturday morning.
However, the former Ajax player came through the tests without any problems and is the second centre-back to join the Catalan club this summer, after Jeremy Mathieu arrived from Valencia in a €20m deal last month.
The defender, who becomes the third Arsenal captain to join Barca in seven years (after Thierry Henry in 2007 and Cesc Fabregas in 2011), will be unveiled at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Cyrus included the hashtag #whitetrashrager along with the images.
The 21-year old has 11.1 million Instagram followers and it's easy to understand why. You never know what you're gonna get when you check out her account on a weekly basis.
We hope to never see Miley peeing ever again, but hey. At least she isn't pimping out her sister again.

Name National Stadium after Okwaraji – Family
Twenty
five years after he died playing for Nigeria at the National Stadium in
Lagos, the family of Sam Okwaraji would wish the arena is named after
the fallen football star.
A bust of Okwaraji at the entrance of
the National Stadium Lagos is the only reminder of how Okwaraji at the
age of 24 died on August 12, 1989, while playing for the Super Eagles in
a 1990 World Cup qualifier against Angola. Okwaraji’s brother, Patrick Okwaraji,
told AfricanFootball.com his family is disappointed the football star
has yet to be immortalised by the country he died for.
“The Okwarajis will want the National
Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, where Sam took his last breath, to be renamed
after him,” Patrick Okwaraji said.
“This is not too much to do for a man who gave all to his country and died doing so.
“Okwaraji died while in active service
for Nigeria, we are therefore calling on the authorities to immortalise
Samuel Okwaraji, a man whose life and legacies have continued to inspire
and motivate our people.
“Nigeria should learn and start to celebrate our true heroes so as to encourage, inspire and motivate our people.
“We may be wrong in blowing this
trumpet ourselves, but what do you do in the face of a nation’s
negligence This is a situation that has continuously affected the psyche
of our sports persons generally and has supported the culture of lack
of commitment and patriotism.”
NANS commends Fashola for reversing LASU fee
The leadership of the South-West
Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Students has commended the
Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, for reverting the tuition of
the Lagos State University to its original rate.
Fashola had increased the tuition from N25,000 to between N193,000 to N350,000, leading the students to go on mass protests.
It was reduced to between 34 to 60 per cent, but the students were dissatisfied before it was finally reduced to the original amount.
In a statement released on Monday, the Public Relations Officer of NANS South-West, Comrade Jeremiah Olatinwo, thanked the Lagos State Government for the reversal.
It read, “The leadership of NANS Zone D wishes to commend the Executive Governor of Lagos State and his team for their giant stride, largeheartedness and faithfulness to their promise by reverting to the old school fees structure of one of West Africa’s acclaimed citadel of learning, Lagos State University.”
Olatinwo added that this action would advance the frontiers of education and make education affordable to the common man. He further saluted Barr. Femi Falana and those who stood by the students during the period of struggle for the fee reduction.
According to him, “Our profound gratitude goes out to our fathers and friends who in the spirit of comradeship stood strongly by us in the face of the struggle for the future of the students of LASU.
“To the students who despite the odds and pain, endured the fight, we say Viva Aluta.”
On the insinuation in some quarters that Fashola reversed the fees for political reasons, Olatinwo noted that he did not know of this.
He said he was grateful that the governor reversed the fees regardless of whether or not he had a political reason for doing so.
“People are entitled to their different opinions. He (Fashola) might have done it for political reasons, that I don’t know.
“One thing I am happy for is that we were victorious in our struggle for our colleagues in LASU. Political reason or not, he has done well to have listened to the plight of the people,” he said.
