Nigerian doctors have suspended the strike to help the country fight Ebola epidemic.
According to the statement by the National Medical Association (NMA),
Ebola outbreak was the main reason for ending the 5-week-long strike,
AFP reports.
Two people have been confirmed dead and 5 more infected with the
deadly virus in Lagos. Meanwhile the disease has already claimed more
than 900 lives in Africa.
In a densely-populated Lagos, with more than 20 million people, the
EVD is expected to spread quickly. Experts say the city’s public health
system is not good enough to deal with the rising number of patients
infected with Ebola.
It was made known yesterday that some striking doctors volunteered their services to help with the fighting the disease,
and NMA Lagos State chapter chairman Dr Tope Ojo said the strike would
not stop their members from helping the affected patients.
It would be recalled that this year’s epidemic has been characterized
as the worst Ebola outbreak in history. The virus, currently ravaging
Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, came to Nigeria with the Liberian
Patrick Sawyer. It is worth mentioning that after Sawyer’s death Tope Ojo claimed that doctors would not suspend the strike because of the deadly virus as their demands remained unfulfilled.
Nigerian authorities yesterday requested from the US Centre for Disease Control the experimental drug called ZMapp,
which is believed to have saved the lives of 2 Americans in Liberia,
and are currently awaiting for the response from the centre. However US President Obama reportedly said it was too early to send the serum to Africa.

The Young Man Who Killed His Lover In Lagos Confesses Why - (Read)
The 31-year-old man, who allegedly strangled his 39-year-old
international business woman lover to death in her apartment at Green Estate,
Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos, last month, told a crowd yesterday that he did it
out of jealousy.
The suspect, Kelechi Williams, who was paraded at the Lagos
State Police Command, was arrested at the border between Ghana and Cote D’Ivore
by operatives from the Area ‘E’ Command, Festac Town and those of International
Police, INTERPOL, while fleeing with the deceased’s Range Rover Sports Utility
Vehicle, SUV, with number plate LAGOS EKY 509 AZ.
The incident, according to him, occurred on July 19, 2014,
at about 2 am during an altercation over the late arrival of his lover, a
mother of four identified as Njideka Lizzy Nzewe.
How she was killed
Narrating how he snuffed life out of the deceased, the
suspect, who hails from Umuji in Ndemili North Local Government Area of Anambra
State, said: “Lizzy was my girlfriend. I knew her three years ago. But we
started getting serious in February this year.
“I came back from Ghana to visit her on July 16, 2014 which
was on a Wednesday. The next day we went out and came back late.
“On Friday, she told me to stay back at home and rest
because I was tired. She left the house, saying she was going to the new
apartment she was to pack into, assuring me she would be back as usual by 6
p.m.
“But she did not return by 6pm. Rather, the gate man came
with a power generating set, saying madam had gone to drop the workers.
“When it was 8 p.m. and I did not see her, I started calling
her on phone but she did not pick. I called her up to 30 times without
response.
“She came back by midnight and when I asked why she did not
pick my calls, she said the phone was in silent mode. I brought out my phone
and called her line only for it to ring.
“At that point I noticed she was drunk. I got angry and
asked if that was the way she would pay me back for leaving everything in Ghana
to come and spend time with her. I threatened to quit the relationship. But at
that point, her phone rang and I told her to pick it but she insisted that I
should pick it and when I did, the caller, who was a male, asked ‘baby are you
home?’
“Immediately she discovered it was a male’s voice, she
snatched the phone from me and asked why I should pick her calls. I reminded
her of a similar incident when she came to visit me in Ghana and my phone rang.
She pick it and on discovering it was a female, she smashed the phone on the
ground, without knowing who the caller was.
“I reminded her also that she collected my other phones from
me and brought them to Nigeria. In anger, I took the phone and smashed it on the
ground.
“Before I knew it, she threw my things outside, saying I
should leave her house. I told her to give me the N300,000 she borrowed from me
to buy an air conditioner, if she wanted me to leave but she said she had no
money with her and gave me her ATM card which she said had just N140,000.
“At a point, she slapped me and we started fighting. She
held on to my manhood and started stretching it. That was when I held the
wrapper that was around her neck and used it to strangle her, thereby forcing
her to let go my manhood. She fell down
and became motionless.
“Immediately, I took her three phones, ATM card and went
outside to meet the gate man to see me off to any ATM machine, where I withdrew
N100,000.
“I dropped the gateman at home, and told him I was going to
pump the tyre. At that point, I knew I was in trouble. I did not go back to her
house for fear of being arrested.
“I drove straight to Mile Two, from where I picked a driver
who drove me down to Ghana. I spent some days in Ghana before I decided to
leave for Cote d’Ivoire, where unfortunately I was arrested.
“I never wanted to kill her. I have never fought in my life,
let alone kill somebody. I did not also steal her jewellery and N8 million as
claimed by the Police. The only money I withdrew was N100,000 and her phone.”
Suspect gives thanksgiving in church
Briefing newsmen earlier, the command’s boss, Umar Manko,
said after the suspect killed the woman, he locked the door from outside,
apparently to make it look as if they had gone out. He further disclosed that a
new International Passport which bore the suspect’s name and the surname of his
deceased’s lover, was found on him, suggesting that the motive was pre-empted.
Back in Ghana, preliminary investigation, according to the
Police, revealed that the suspect took the SUV to church, declaring it was his.
Police sources said he made an unspecified donation to the church and also
threw a party to celebrate the new car.
How I discovered my madam’s corpse—Guard
On his part, the gate man, John Tungwim, said he suspected
something was amiss when the suspect dashed out from the apartment that night.
According to him, “he told me he was going to the club with
madam but that she asked him to go and withdraw money with her ATM card first.
“I went with him because I know madam’s pin code. But we
came back, he told me to go inside that madam said she was tired and could not
go. So, he drove out alone.
“I never suspected anything until the next day when I did
not see madam. I called one of the children’s attention to it. Out of
curiosity, I climbed a ladder only to discover that madam was on the floor
foaming in her mouth. I contacted her brother who called in the police.”

Karrueche Tran Flirting With Drake to Piss Off Chris Brown? (Photos)
The reasons behind the split have been the topic of great speculation with little hard evidence, but we know Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran broke up.
She's been pushing the narrative that he's an insecure man-child who parties too hard, while his camp says he dumped her for being a fame whore.
These hoes, a wise man once crooned, ain't loyal.
This latest gossip item - while unconfirmed - certainly lends itself to
team Chris: Karrueche, sources say, was caught flirting with none other
than Drake!
The once-contentious music stars' recent bromance has been well
documented, but it was put to the test, sources claim, by Kae blowing up
Drake's phone.
Before the split, no less.
The source says Drake was honest with his friend and showed him the
texts that he'd been receiving, making sure another feud didn't break
out.
An insider said, ”Karrueche got a new manager and started changing up.
In the beginning she was just a cool chick, that liked to hang out and
have fun."
That Kae is long gone.
"Now she was trying to use every opportunity to make money," but "Chris
did not approve” and feeling like a split was imminent, she got
desperate.
“Kae started texting Drake and flirting. She thought that since he and
Chris had issues, that he might be open to date her [just to piss Chris
off].”
Fortunately, ”Drake immediately forwarded the texts to Chris and told
him EXACTLY what Karrueche had done ... Brown IMMEDIATELY dropped that heaux.”
Again, we have no idea if this is accurate, but we think it's obvious
that Chris and Kae need to spend some time far, far away from one
another.
Same with Drizzy and his ex (also Chris' ex), between whom there's apparently some bad blood as well.

Ebola: Read What RCCG GO, Pastor Adeboye Has To Say
As panic grips the Nigerian medical sector following reports of a second case of the dreaded Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF), religious organisations may have begun a process to be proactive by educating their members on the need to update their personal hygiene.
The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Monday evening, charged Christians attending the ongoing 62nd annual convention to make cleanliness their watch word by ensuring that they clean their environment during the convention. Speaking during the first day of the convention, Adeboye who prayed that the dreaded Ebola virus will not rear its ugly head on the country or at the camp, warned that any province of the church, consistently found wanting on environmental sanitation will be expelled from the ongoing convention programme. Linking the spread of the virus to filthiness among others, the trained mathematician said: “We are sure that we are always very clean here and take sanitation seriously. I pray that there will not be any outbreak of sickness, or disease here. There will only be shouts of joy.” He emphasized the need for every province to keep the camp clean for the Almighty God is against uncleanliness, before sleeping at night tidy up your surroundings, adding “during the cause of the convention any province that scores below 90 per cent consistently will be provided a bus that will take them home because they will not finish the convention with us.”
“Pay Me 1 Million Euros Or I leave” – Onazi Tells Lazio
Recuperating Super Eagles midfielder Eddy Onazi is set to be offered a new deal by Serie A outfit Lazio to fend off interest from English Premiership sides. Onazi was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool prior to the World cup but of late Sunderland, Everton and Southampton are rumoured to be keen on the services of the 21-year-old. He presently earns a meagre 200,000 euros (N43m) per year making him the lowest paid Lazio first team player. Calcio Mercato reports that Onazi wants 1m euros (N215m) a year and Lazio president Claudio Lotito has already met with his agent Jonathan Barnet. Lazio are ready to pull all the stops to keep the midfielder, who won the Coppa Italia in 2013 and made 29 appearances last season. Since making his debut in 2012 he has so far made 45 appearances with two goals, in addition to his 21 caps for Nigeria, where he won the Nations Cup and played all of the country’s games at the World Cup before injury forced him out in the Super Eagles’2-0 loss to France in the round of 16 .(Sugarsports)

Meet The Brazilian Man Who Injected An Acid Into His Face To Look Like Michael Jackson- See Photos
Antonio Gleidson Rodrigues, 32 has spent around £2,000 on a series of cosmetic procedures and has even had rhinoplasty to imitate his late idol’s botched nose job.
Each day he spends around four hours rehearsing his dance
moves and one and a half hours applying make up to make sure fellow fans in his
hometown of Fortalenza continue to scream for a selfie or an autograph.
Self-proclaimed number one Michael Jackson impersonator in
Brazil Gleidson Jackson, as he likes to be known, said: “In 2009 I went into
the operating theatre and had my nasal septum corrected which allowed me to
reach the higher notes.
“I wasn’t able to reach notes like Michael before but after
surgery I can now sing some notes in falsetto.”
After his first surgery Gleidson had hyaluronic acid
injected into his face, which had a whitening effect and botox injections to
enhance the area under his eyes.
He also had surgery to close the gaps in his teeth and had
his eyebrows tattooed, but there's even more to come, he insists.
“If I can afford it in the future, I am thinking of working
on my cheekbones so I can get rid of the wrinkles along my mouth – I also want
to have my eyebrows arched.

“You’re In For A Shock”:Liverpool Manager, Rodgers Warns Van Gaal.

Brendan Rodgers has wasted no time in playing mind games with Louis van Gaal by warning the new Manchester United manager that the competitive nature of the Premier League will make it extremely difficult for the Dutchman to win the title in his first season. Van Gaal emerged victorious from his first meeting with United’s arch-rivals after Wayne Rooney inspired a second-half comeback and 3-1 win over Liverpool to win the Guinness International Champions Cup on Monday evening. But Rodgers is adamant that Van Gaal, despite success at clubs such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich, will struggle to come to terms with the ferocity and unpredictability of English football. “I think what he’ll find is the competition in this league will be different from any other league that he’s worked in,” said Rodgers, who led his side to within touching distance of their first title since 1990 last season. “In a lot of the other leagues there are one or two teams and those are the teams that are expected to win. Louis-Van-Gaal-Brendan-Rodgers
“This is a league where the top team plays the bottom team and on any given day you can lose. You don’t get that a lot in the other leagues. I think the competition will probably take him by surprise and that’s from foreign managers I have spoken to over the years. “I’ve worked closely with foreign players who have come in and that real physical competitive nature will be different from anywhere else he’s worked before.” Van Gaal will be keen to tell his Anfield counterpart how he won trophies in Spain and Germany during his first season in each country but Rodgers knows that with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea working feverishly in the transfer market this summer, the competition at the top will be as fierce as ever. “I think it’s going to be really as competitive,” he said. “Last season was great and right the way through there were four or five teams right up there, and then in the closing months it narrowed down a wee bit. The Premier League historically shows that it’s a very competitive league. Man United will want to bounce back, Chelsea will be strong, Manchester City are the champions so they’ll be the favourites.
