The name ‘Genevieve Nnaji’ carries weight in the entertainment industry in Africa, Nigeria in particular and because of this, many people want to be associated with the acclaimed ‘queen of Nollywood’.

Ask D’Banj, he will confess that the decision to use this Imo State-born actress in his ‘Fall In Love’ music video some years ago eventually paid off. The controversial kiss between the ‘Kokomaster’ and Genevieve gave rise to the rumoured romantic relationship between the two stars. Even till today, the tale has refused to die down. Recently, it was reported that D’Banj confessed that he neither had crush on the movie star nor dated her as it was being widely rumoured.

Also recall that some time ago, Wizkid said in an interview that he admires Genevieve, which was well feasted on by the media.

For Orezi, he is just getting to know what fame is all about in the practical sense. Just when he was about to shoot his ‘Rihanna’ music video, it was speculated that he would feature the America-based music star from Barbados, but he featured a look-alike of the former Miss Barbados in the music video.

Speaking with Nigeriafilms.com some days ago, the fast-rising singer yelled that Genevieve is too big for him to have crush on. Orezi was reacting to a question we put to him on his celebrity crush.

He confessed that he has many of them, but disclosed that it is definitely not Genevieve, who is a big act in the showbiz industry. “Genevieve no be for us (Genevieve is not for us), but in the real sense, I love Genevieve, I admire her a lot,” Orezi told Nigeriafilms.com.

Justin Bieber took to his online Shots account last night and posted a picture of himself and Yovanna Ventura, the same Yovanna Ventura with whom Bieber was often spotted in May.

Ventura and Bieber went on multiple dates this spring, including one at Venice Beach in which Justin was shirtless and the two rode a bicycle rickshaw. 

What does this photo mean for Justin and Selena? Nothing positive, that's for certain.

Not only is Bieber clearly cozying up to another woman... not only are her hands under his shirt... but this pose looks VERY similar to the one Bieber and Gomez struck for THIS PHOTO last year, doesn't it?

I am Ready To Face The Consequences- Student Who Killed Father

Tolani Ajayi, the 21-year-old undergraduate who killed his father, has said he is ready to face the consequences of his action. While speaking with Journalists yesterday at Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta where he has been remanded, Tolani said he hacked his father, a lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria to death because he was angry about his father’s action.

According to him, they had an argument and his father hit him with a stick which made him attack him with a kitchen knife and cutlass which later led to his death. I don’t need any help from Nigerians, he said.

“There is no way Nigerians can help me. I am going to face my judgement. I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is not as if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable – something that is going to happen; I am just waiting for it.”
It was also gathered that Tolani had been suspended from Redeemer’s University on drug related issues and the University management were about setting up a panel to question him before the incident took place.
He however sent out some words to his mom, who he says will grieve the most, that he was sorry and regrets his actions.

Brazil’s head coach Felipe Scolari said he had experienced the worst day of his life in the wake of the result. He said: ‘I’ll be remembered probably because I lost 7-1, the worst defeat Brazil have ever had, but that was a risk I knew I was running when I accepted this position.

Gunmen Shoot UNILAG Final Year Student

A University of Lagos student was reportedly shot in the head yesterday by unidentified gunmen at the King Jaja Hall area of the university on Monday. Fortunately, the student who was identified as Sapara, a final year student of Philosophy, had his face covered in blood instead of being dead after the bullet scraped the side of his head.

He was subsequently taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, and official report have it that he is in a stable condition. The incident had however led to chaos as students were seen running in different directions after the gunshot was heard.

Punch reports that according to eyewitnesses, they saw a car speed off after the shooting, noting that the perpetrators might have carried out the attack from there.

The Dean of Students’ Affairs of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund, has also confirmed that Sapara was indeed shot and currently recuperating at LUTH, stating that investigations had begun to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack, after which requisite actions would be taken.

When asked whether the attack was carried out by cultists, Amund noted that though it was not yet confirmed, it was a likely possibility. According to him, only cultists are known to carry out operations of this nature.

And although normal day-to-day activities went on at the university on Tuesday as students went about writing their ongoing examinations, some are weary that reprisal actions could take place.
In January, unconfirmed reports had it that a student was axed at the New Hall axis of the campus.
Responding to this, Amund said the university was working with the police to find useful leads.
