Photos : Man drags 3-tonne van with only his teeth, while walking on broken glass
Easy does it: Yang Dong, 20, pulled a three tonne van using a rope gripped between his teeth in Fuzhou, China |
The 20-year-old gripped a rope between his jaws and pulled a van laden with nine adults - while walking on broken glass.
Tough job: My Yang practiced for 10 years for the stunt, which involved a 13ft-long carpet of shattered bottles
Glutton for punishment: Mr Yang, 20, rubbed broken glass all over his body before the main event
He began practicing the stunt 10 years ago and now manages to pull a van weighing three tons down the street.
Meanwhile, the road under him was laden with a 13ft carpet of shattered beer bottles.
Mr Yang managed to pull off the feat last week in Fuzhou, a city of 7million people and the capital of south east China's Fujian province.
It is not clear yet if he has set a world record. Last year a man calling himself Montystar A. also pulled a three-tonne truck with his mouth in Haryana, India - though on that occasion broken glass was not involved.
'There’ll Be More Bomb Blasts And Jonathan Knows Those Responsible' - Primate Ayodele Prophecies
Founder, Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Isolo,
Lagos, Primate Ayodele whose predictions are said to always come to pass
has revealed in a recent interview that there will be more bomb blasts
in the nation.
He said since security intelligence does not recognise prophecy, bloodletting will continue.
According to him, there are moles in the Presidency, the Senate, House Of Representatives, SSS, Nigeria Police Force, the Army, Air Force and the Navy who give information to these terrorists and President Jonathan knows who they are but is afraid to stand up to them, adding that their next targets are shopping malls and markets.
He explained that with prayers, these problems can be solved but the nation's leaders have soiled their hands in evil acts and they derive pleasure in the shedding of blood.
He said, "If Jonathan comes back 100 times to rule this country, he won’t be able to solve the problems. He does not listen to the voice of God, flattery and deceit are good music to him. When you praise him he is always happy. Most of the pastors he goes to are afraid to tell him the truth. There is red signal all over the country."
On the confab, he said they will speak the mind of the people and make recommendations but the government will not listen.
On the political situation in the country, he said members of the All Progressives Congress, APC will defect to PDP before the 2015 elections and if APC refuses to give Muhammadu Buhari the ticket to contest the presidency he will quit, adding that there will be no elections in some state.
He called on all governors to pray so as not to lose four of their own to the cold hands of death.
On the abducted students, he said they will come out unhurt.
Speaking on Super Eagles and the world cup, he said they will try but they won’t get to the semi-final and Coach Stephen Keshi will quit coaching them after the World Cup.
On the missing Malaysian flight, he said the Malaysian government should be held responsible because they know its whereabouts.

Incredible: Dramatic moment killer about to be hanged is spared execution by his victim's parents
A murderer was spared from the hangman’s noose with seconds to spare - by the mother of his victim.
The killer, named only as Balal, had been blindfolded and bound with the noose placed round his neck when he was reprieved only seconds before he was due to be executed.
The parents of his 18-year-old victim Abdollah Hosseinzadeh jnr were set, under Sharia law,to take part in the hanging of the man who had killed him in a street knife-fight seven years ago.
The teenager’s brother and father were on the hangman’s spot and due to kick the chair out from under the the killer.
But at the very last second the dead boy’s mother had a change of heart and slapped him across the face before pulling the noose from round his neck.
Her husband Abolghani Hosseinzadeh, Snr., said his wife had a change of heart after their dead son appeared to her in a dream.
The couple had already lost a son aged 11 after he died in a motorbike crash.
Said Mr Hosseinzadeh: ” Three days ago, my wife saw my elder son in a dream telling her that they are in a good place and for her not to retaliate.”
Seconds after releasing Balal from his intended death spot, his own mother ran over to his mother Mrs Hosseinzadeh and threw her arms round her as she wept in thanks for her incredible act of forgiveness.
Mr. Hosseinzadeh said he didn’t believe Balal meant to kill his son.
“Abdollah was offended after a row and kicked him. But Balal pulled a kitchen knife out of his sock and didn’t know how to handle a knife. He was naive.”

So far this year Iran has carried out at least 100 executions following the estimated 500 people were put to death last year.
The country is second only to China in the number of executions carried out.
At the weekend Iran said it executed 16 “rebels” in an immediate reprisal after gunmen killed at least 14 border guards near the border with Pakistan.
The two mothers of vicim and killer hug after execution called off |
Iranian authorities said they hanged 16 “rebels” held at a prison in the Sistan-Baluchestan region.
But Iran halted the execution of 26-year-old interior designer Rayhaneh Jabbari on Tuesday.
She was due to hang for the stabbing to death seven years ago of a doctor who she claimed drugged her and tried to rape her.
Under Sharia Law rape is regarded as adultery.
US Warns Citizens In Nigeria Over Security During Easter Holidays
Following the frequency of attacks in Nigeria in the past few days, the United States Department of States has warned American citizens living in Nigeria over possible attacks that might be carried out by extremists in the Northern parts of the country during the Easter celebration that will begin tomorrow through Monday.
The warning came on Wednesday, barely 48 hours after the US issued a fresh travel alert for Nigeria as a result of the bomb blast that reportedly claimed several lives and properties in Nyayan area of Abuja.
“The Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, public holidays, and given the history of bombing attacks on weekends (some associated with holidays), as well as the recent bombing in Nyanya on April 14, the US Mission in Nigeria urges all US citizens living and travelling in Nigeria to take extra precautions for your personal security and safety”, according to a statement obtained
by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The US advised all American citizens to be particularly vigilant around churches and other places of worship, locations where large crowds may gather, government facilities, and areas frequented by expatriates and foreign travelers during the upcoming holiday weekend.
In the warning, the US noted that security measures in Nigeria remained heightened due to threats posed by extremist groups, stressing that its citizens should expect additional police and military checkpoints, additional security, and possible road blocks throughout the country during the holiday weekend.
The Department, however, recommended that US citizens travelling to or residing in Nigeria enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Travelet Enrollment Programme (STEP) which it said would give Americans the latest security updates, and makes it easier for the U.S. embassy or nearest US consulate to contact them in case of an emergency.
13 Ways You Know You’re Dating A High-Quality Woman
1. She encourages you to pursue your goals, but she doesn’t micromanage. She trusts you to make the right decisions in your own life. She’s the cheerleader, not the coach.
2. She doesn’t try to make you jealous. She’s secure in her worth, and your ability to recognize how valuable she is. She doesn’t need to play games to “trick” you into seeing her her for what she is.
3. She doesn’t have a princess complex. She demands that you treat her with respect — but because she is a person you love, not because she is a woman and therefore magically entitled to something. Just as she would expect you to treat your friends and family with respect, she knows you wouldn’t treat her any other way. A high-quality woman wouldn’t be with a man who was disrespectful to the people he is close to in life.
4. She has a part of her life that doesn’t involve you. Friends, hobbies, career — whatever. She’s confident and independent enough to not need your involvement in everything she does.
5. You wouldn’t think twice about inviting her into different parts of your life: a barbecue with your college friends, a dinner with your parents, a fancy work party — she knows how to handle herself in different settings. She’s mature enough to make a good impression with your colleagues and wise enough to know letting loose with your friends and having fun doesn’t mean she’s immature.
6. She takes care of herself. This doesn’t mean she is perfect, it means she is always improving. You don’t have to tell her she needs to solve a problem in her life. She’s self-aware and sees what issues she has and is self-motivated enough to constantly be working to improve them. She needs a partner, not a dad.
7. When she is in a situation where she doesn’t know people, she introduces herself confidently. She doesn’t cling meekly to your side waiting for you to facilitate every social interaction.
8. A reasonable, non-hyper-conservative employer could look at her social media presence and hire her.
9. She isn’t shy about sex. If she doesn’t want to do something, she can articulate why instead of just saying “ew”. Your sex life with her isn’t a shady secret she feels uncomfortable talking about, it’s adult and healthy and you both work to keep the flame alive.
10. She has opinions more than “idk” and she can talk calmly and non-hyperbolically about them. If she disagrees with you, you can have a conversation about it without anyone raising their voice.
11. She would never joke with her friends or family (or worse, your friends or family) about how men are “stupid” or childish, or whatever “happy wife happy life” mantra you’ve heard women use to put down the partners they love.
12. She knows what she wants in life. She doesn’t change her values or goals to tailor fit the guy she is with.
13. You feel lucky to be dating her because you know she would never date anyone just to date them. She isn’t afraid to be single and she is self-sufficient. You know she is dating you because she’s attracted to you and she thinks that you will help each other grow to be even higher quality, together.
Nyaya Bomb Blast Victim :RIP Ashe Peters -Mami
Nyaya Bomb Blast Victim : Ashe Peters -Mami Never Arrived At Work By Alkasim Abdulkadir.
She is fondly called Mami, Ashe Peters was loved by everybody, and her employer Mrs. Zakari Imam described her as an exceptional human being. The Nyaya to Central area Abuja route had been her route over the years like several other thousands of civil servants and artisans who commute daily to work in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja.
To get to work in time before the day’s tasks, to beat traffic as it is called -the commuters always left their abodes early, especially Ashe who had never been late in arriving at her office as Mrs Imam’s assistant “She was a honest, hard working and wonderful person loved by all her colleagues and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her” she averred.
However, on Monday April 14th 2014 she left home as dutiful as always but never showed up for work, she didn’t show up because she never got there. Alas, she didn’t get there because at exactly 6.30 am a vicious bomb explosion ripped through the Elrufai Bus Park at Nyaya, killing scores of people. Some of the dead and injured were taken to Nyaya, Asokoro General Hospitals and National Hospital. However, several more are still on the missing list, never to be seen again by their loved ones. Mami isn’t just a number, in a country already suffering from tragedy fatigue from the statistics of the dead, it has become imperative for us to remind ourselves that she was here and she was human too like the rest of us. Ashe Peters lived with her brother in Nyaya she was in her late twenties and would have added a year more on the 21st of April; she went missing exactly a week to her birthday.
The days have been passing by, there have been long tortuous and traumatic searches for her in all the hospitals and the hope of finding Mami is fast deeming. Her families and friends are slowly coming to terms with the fact they might never see her again. Therein lies the greatest tragedy of losing her, for Mrs. Zahra Bakari-Imam the tears have refused to stop “I went to sleep crying, woke up crying I am still crying”.
Like Mami, Eze the mechanic, Mohammed Babangida, Abu and several others we will never know, they were all human beings with dreams like the rest for us, their only crime remains waking up and catching a bus to earn a living. At the end of the day, this veil of insecurity covers us all, no one is immune to it…not numbers they were human.
RIP Ashe Peters -Mami - May God Almighty console those you left behind!
Can't stop crying......
Igboland To Get Islamic University
•Boasts the best Islamic secondary school in Nigeria:
Unknown to most people in religiously divided Nigeria, the best Islamic secondary school in the country is not located in the Muslim-dominated North but in the largely Christian South-East, specifically in Afikpo, Ebonyi State.
Now there are plans to turn the school, known as Islamic Centre, Afikpo, into an Islamic University. This was disclosed by Sheikh Daud Nwagui, the Headmaster of the primary section of the school, who told the Daily Trust newspaper: “We hope to turn the school into a university, that is a university of Islamic studies. There is no school like this in the whole of the South-East.”
The hilly Afikpo town boasts the highest number of Igbo Muslims in the South-East, followed by the university town of Nsukka in neighbouring Enugu State. The Islamic Centre, Afikpo, was founded by Sheikh Ibrahim Okpani Nwagui, the father of the present headmaster, who brought Islam to Afikpo in 1958.
According to Sheikh Daud Nwagui, his late father embraced Islam in Senegal and promptly introduced the religion to his people when he returned to Nigeria in 1958.
“From that time a lot of people in the vicinity were turning to Islam. He was a very sincere person, and he was like this till his very last days. He was the founder of the Islamic Centre, Afikpo,” he said, adding: “This centre was set up in 1965 to propagate Islam generally. This is the best Islamic secondary school in the nation, and students come from all over the country, including Abuja.”
The Islamic Centre, Afikpo, has a primary and a secondary section. There are 450 pupils in the primary section, while the secondary section has some 500 pupils. Students write the NECO and SSCE examinations, just like other students in Nigerian secondary schools. The school has three boarding houses. A computer laboratory is under construction at the school.
Sheikh Daud Nwagui told Daily Trust that there is a special focus on Arabic as a language, on Islamic studies, physics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Mathematics and Igbo. This, he explained, assists in producing a crop of rounded pupils.
The headmaster disclosed that graduates of the school have risen to prominent positions in the society. Many, he said, have done well in the areas of medicine, some are in the armed forces, also in engineering, and many have risen to become Chief Imams in many states of the federation.
Some graduates, Sheikh Daud Nwagui disclosed, are outside the country and doing very well in places such as Pakistan and India.
On challenges which the school has faced over the years, Sheikh Nwagui said that some form of challenge has come from those he described as ‘religious fanatics in the neighbourhood’ but quickly added: “But from the government of the state we are covered. The government gives us a lot of support.”

A MUST READ: Why Your Phones Batteries Can Explode In Your Pocket
Smartphone users have been warned by experts to live with the
possibility that their phones could explode – on the charger, next to
their beds or even in their pockets – at any time without warning.
It could be recalled that on Tuesday, 16-year-old Ina-Chérie Vermaak from Wonderboom South in Pretoria, South Africa was traumatised by the explosion of her Blackberry’s battery in her school bag as she was walking to class.
Her school uniform was burnt and she was enveloped in a cloud of white smoke. Telecommunication engineering experts have shed some light on why this happened and what can be done to prevent a battery exploding.
According to a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria’s department of electrical, electronic and computer engineering, Jacques van Wyk, there was no way to prevent a possible explosion.
“It does not happen very often that a cellphone’s battery explodes but there is a chance that it could happen,” he said.
It is also not only cellphone batteries that can explode. Van Wyk said an explosion could occur because of a short circuit in the battery.
A short circuit could be more likely if the cellphone’s battery was left to run to below 10 percent. Manufacturers and service providers advise users not to let the battery get too flat before charging it.
However, charging can also lead to the battery overheating and thus exploding. “It is just one of those things and you cannot prevent the possibility that this could happen,” said Van Wyk.
Dr Linoh Magagula of the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Electrical Engineering said it “is rare for a cellphone to just explode” while it is lying somewhere.
He said it was more likely a phone would explode when it was left to charge for extended periods in a poorly ventilated area.
“If one is charging the cellphone, make sure it is charged in a properly ventilated area to prevent the battery from overheating,” he said.
He also said if the battery in Vermaak’s cellphone was not the original, the cells in the battery could have overheated.
“The cells could have been poorly insulated and if one cell overheats, the neighbouring cells will also heat up until the battery explodes. Magagula added that one could not rule out that the battery could have been faulty.
“If is was a factory fault, there is nothing one can do to prevent something like this happening,” said Magagula.
He said when a battery was replaced, the user should ensure it was an original battery.
How To Prevent Your Phone Battery To Explode:
Use only the manufacturer’s original battery or well-known replacement brands, rather than cheap substitutes.
Do not leave your device in hot areas, especially if it’s charging. That only worsens overheating problems.
If your phone is charging or you are using functions that cause it to heat up, make sure you are using it in a ventilated area.
Charging your battery at 50 percent is a good thing, to prevent it from running too low.
Leave your device off charge overnight and plug it in when you get up. (Naij)
