OBESERE RAPE SCANDAL: Police Finally Speak, Read What They Said

The Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, Mrs Ngozi Braide has said Miss Nike Olaiya who accused Obesere of rape is a blackmailer and extortionist.

 photo
In a chat with Encomium magazine, on Friday, March 28, 2014, she said both the victim and the accused agreed and they had canal knowledge of each other but Nike was only trying to blackmail him afterwards.

"As far as we're concerned, and based on the investigations carried out so far on the matter, most of the allegations by Obesere's accuser, Olanike Olaiya were fabricated. Although, they both admitted having canal knowledge of each other, there was absolutely nothing to show that Nike was raped as she claimed. It was a frame -up because the lady has refused to honour police invitation. And the doctor's report available to us has shown that she was not raped. We're made to understand that this lady on her own went to Obesere's house in search of Obesere, that she spent the nights there. She was there cooking and everybody in the house ate.

"People in that house have equally made statements. I think there was a mutual relationship between the two of them. Nike is a 29 year old lady, a divorcee. I think during the period she was in the house, they had canal knowledge of each other, and she left him after which she went to the station to allege that she was raped. I think there was a case of mutual relationship between both parties as well as extortion attempt.

"Before she went to make such allegations, she had already contacted Obesere on phone to demand certain amount that she was bleeding and so on. Obesere now invited her to a hospital. The doctor examined her and he didn't see anything abnormal. And they said for further clarification, she should go for scan. She left and never returned to the hospital.

"But investigation is still in progress. Police would not rest until we get to the root of the matter and we will make the outcome known to the public.

Reacting on the development, Obesere said, "I thank God I have been vindicated by the outcome of the investigations so far conducted by the police. What's next is to enter the studio for my next album. I thank God and that people have identified with me so far. I am very sure the police will soon get to the root of the matter."

A Must Read : Charlie Boy Challenges God, Asking Him ''Why Don't You Destroy Satan, Once And For All''

It seems that the season of open letters in Nigeria has not ended yet. One of the most controversial figures in Nigeria’s show-business, Charly Boy, penned a letter to God. In the letter, posted on his personal blog, Charly Boy questions the very concept of any religion.
READ MORE:  http://news.naij.com/63360.html

First, the 62-year-old Charly Boy thanks his Creator for all the things He gave him: beautiful children, a beautiful and soulful wife, a loving family, his parents, nice motor bikes, and, most importantly, the ability to adjust to any living conditions instead of struggling with the way things are.
But the entertainer is quick to point out that he has worked to earn his success. Then, he confesses that he finds many things confusing about God.
For instance, he asks, what happens to the rest of the people living on Earth who are not Christians? Or to those who died prior to the organized religion?
Charly Boy also wonders why it is acceptable for religions to evolve, noting that various religions have changed over time due to cultural pressures. How do people know it was God who "authorized" them?
Next, the entertainer maintains that if God is supposed to be perfect, He should have created perfect humans, as they are supposedly his image; instead, He ended up creating imperfect ones. He even asks God why he allowed Hell to be created and why He wouldn't destroy Satan once and for all.
Charly Boy then stresses that the Bible was written by men – then is it not strange that humans are accepting laws written by men, and that there are many different versions seen from different perspectives? Human beings, he observes, are imperfect, therefore, their stories may as well be imperfect.
Then, the entertainer wonders wonders why such a perfect entity as God, who is all-powerful and has all the knowledge in the world, would require praise. Wouldn't it be enough just to thank Him, or praise Him, in our own way? Moreover, Charly Boy asks, why do only humans praise God, but other species are "off the hook"? There is often contempt for those who question religion, the entertainer marks, and wonders why humans should be punished for using the gift of intelligence and freedom of choice.
Finally, he remarks there are multiple conflicting religions, according to which believing anything other will result in going to hell. He asks God to help him answer those questions.
"Mark you, 'God works in mysterious ways are not acceptable answers for me ooo.' So, park well," Charly Boy says in the end.

NANS protests 11-month old ASUP strike •Calls for Wike’s removal

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Monday, staged a mass peaceful protest to make known their grievances as regards the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) strike, calling on the Federal Government to intervene as a matter of urgency.

Blocking the entrance of Governor Babatunde Fashola’s office, the students said they are tired of staying at home, promising to mobilise all students nationwide and shut down all federal roads.
NANS also condemned the age-long discrimination polytechnic graduates have continued to suffer in the labour market against their university counterparts, calling on government to review the issue.
A student from Ilaro polytechnic, Idowu Gbemileke,  stressed that they had spent 11 months and two weeks at home doing nothing while the Federal Government had kept mum on the strike so far.
Questioning Nyesom Wike’s ability to function effectively as the Supervising Minister of Education, the Nigerian students, called for his immediate removal as a minister and urged for a reform in the education sector.
“We say no to any plan by the federal and state government to increase or introduce new tuition fee on various campus,” the students said.
Their demands included a reduction in LASU’s school fees; reinstatement of all banned unions by the management of University of Lagos (UNILAG); conversion of Higher National Diploma (HND) to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and immediate removal of the minister of education.
The students sang several protest songs, displaying placards that read, ‘implement all agreements with ASUP, COEASU others, we say no to Wike as the Minister of Education.’ (Nigeria Tribune)

Top 26 Nollywood Stars Whose Marriages Have Stood The Test Of Time

omo sexy

In an industry where divorce and separation seem to be rampant, it seems good to celebrate some Nollywood stakeholders whose marriages seem to have stood the test of time. This is because the media have celebrated the frequent marriage crashes in Nollywood more than the way they have celebrated the ones that have been intact for years.
Nevertheless, there are divorces and separations everywhere, but those of entertainers attract much attention because they are in the limelight. It’s also necessary to note that there is nothing like a perfect marriage.
Here is a list of some Nollywood top stakeholders whose marriages have stood the test of time. The list is in no particular order. I painstakingly came up with this compilation. Your contributions and comments are Welcomed.
1) Olu Jacobs and Joke Silver:
The two are celebrity couples and they have been married for so many years and they inspire younger actors with their marriage.
2) Omotola Jolade Ekeinde and Matthew :
Next on the list is Omotola whose marriage to her hubby just clocked 18 years.
Despite the scandals and rumours associated with the entertainment industry, they have been able to weather the storm of marital life.
Omotola and husband Captain Mathew Ekeinde recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.
The star actress gave a shout out to her husband on instagram this with a video tagged with a special message. See the message below…
“18 years , still like we dating babe… Nice and easy… My best friend … Funny, annoying, caring, workaholic…We still here babe, you’re still the one!#happymarriageanniversary”3) Zack and Ngozi Orji:
Zack and Ngozi met in Enugu many years back when Ngozi was still a student at the Institute of Management and Technology. Ngozi is also an actress.Apart from acting, the duo are also into music and are blessed with three children, Emeka Lionel Orji, Princess Laura Chiamaka and Michelle Chidimma Orji. Zack in an interview with a weekly magazine said that their marriage has survived because of their maturity and understanding adding,to the fact that they did not get married in Nollywood. He said trust has been the rock of their marriage and he has never felt jealous anytime she plays love roles because she is only doing her job. The same goes with Ngozi who says she doesn’t feel jealous her hubby cuddling another woman in the movie.
Not even the rumoured relationship between Zack and a Ghanaian minister’s wife, which Zack vehemently refuted thus “Over my dead body! I won’t ever do a dirty thing like that. Selasi is someone my wife knows very well, they met in Ghana and she knows there was nothing else between us aside the business we both executed.” could separate them.
4) Omoni Oboli and Nnamdi:
Actress Omoni Oboli and her husband, Nnamdi Oboli has been married for 14 years now and they have in many ways become a reference point to other actresses who rush in and rush out of marriage.
In a previous interview Omoni said she has no plans for divorce
” Marriage to anybody is to understand the responsibility that comes with it. In my marriage, there’s no plan B; no thoughts about divorce. The fact that he isn’t a celebrity is not what makes him a great husband, it’s just who he is”.
5) Regina Askia Williams:
Regina askia sacrificed her fame and acting career for marriage to American Rudy Williams. The couple is blessed with 2 kids together. Regina got married to Rudy since 2000, they separated at a point in their marriage but later got back together. Who would have thought that Regina would stay in a man’s house for like 13 years? This is inspiring.
6) Rita Tony Edochie -
Rita has been married to Pete Edochie’s brother, Tony for many years.
Here her words in a recent interview:
“My name is Rita Tony Edochie. I am an actress, a proud mother of four (two boys and two girls). One of my daughters is married now. I am also a proud grandmother and by the grace of God my home is intact. Some people have this notion that I am a divorcee but I can proudly tell you that I am not and I can never be, because I got into my husband’s house to live and not to stay. I give all glory to God for that.”
7) Ramsey Noah and Emilia:
Nouah is married to Emelia Philips-Nouah. The couple have two sons and a daughter, Quincy Camil Nouah, Desiree Nouah and a baby boy. Ramsey has been married for about a decade now.
cool Emeka Ike :
Emeka Ike has been married for long. They are blessed with lovely children. Recently there were unconfirmed reports that his 14 year old marriage has crashed, but Emeka Ike took to Facebook to dispel rumours and even uploaded pics of his wife and children amidst the rumors.

I Accept Forgiveness By Obasanjo—Atiku

Some days ago Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo during the Northern Youth Leaders Forum, NLYF stated that he has forgiven Atiku Abubakar of whatever offence he might have committed as his Vice-president.

Atiku Abubakar who said he has accepted Obasanjo's forgiveness thanked his former boss, yesterday, while urging Nigerians to emulate such kind of forgiving spirit as shown by the former President.
Abubakar who was Obasanjo's vice president between 1999 and 2007 was believed to have dashed Obasanjo's third-term plans in 2006  said that regardless of one's disagreement with his former boss, its certain Obasanjo is the committed and has the best interest of the country.
He also commended “Obasanjo, his former boss for taking this bold and Godly step in the interest of the nation and humanity.“
Atiku, in a statement, said forgiveness should be the country's motto: ‘’Forgiveness is divinely inspired and is an oil that lubricates the wheels of continued human interactions and engagements.”
He also urged politicians to learn from the words of Mahatma Ghandi that an eye for an eye would make “our nation go blind. “When I made a similar effort few years ago, it was on the conviction that it would not be beneficial to me before Allah, if I went to the grave with bitterness. Let us forgive one another so that we can team up for national rebirth.” (Naij)

SHOCKING: SEE WHY a 16-Year-Old Girl Stabs Her Best Friend 65 Times

A 16-year-old girl was so outraged after a Facebook dispute with her best friend that she murdered the young girl by stabbing her in the back 65 times.photo
Erandy Elizabeth Gutierrez (right) ruthlessly murdered her friend Anel Baez after a dispute over some Facebook photos

The teenager, Erandy Elizabeth Gutierrez was reported to have committed the crime at her best friend, Anel Baez's house in Guamuchil, Mexico who had invited her over so they could make-up following their disagreement. But apparently, the teenager had other plans as she had earlier threatened her best friend that she would be lucky if she was still alive till the end of the year on twitter saying "It may seem that I am very calm, but in my head I have killed you at least three times." True to her words, Gutierrez eventually carried out the threat as she asked to use the bathroom but instead went into the kitchen where she found the knife she then used to stab her Anel to death. After killing her, Gutierrez unsuccessfully tried to clean the blood from her clothes and the weapon, police said. Fleeing the scene and trying to cover up her involvement in the gruesome murder. She even attended Anel's funeral, where she was later arrested by the police.

Court Orders 37 PDP Reps To Resign Seats

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered 37 former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to resign their seats at the House of Representatives for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to NAN (News Agency of Nigeria), the order was given on Monday in Abuja.
Delivering judgment, Justice Adeniyi Ademola held that the defected lawmakers no longer had any business, morally and legally, to stay in the House of Reps.
He said they should honourably resign from their seats as members of the House of Representative , having moved to another political party, while their tenure had yet to expire.
“Having perused the arguments of counsel and the constitutional provisions, it is clear and unambiguous that the defendants were sponsored by the PDP and won the election on its platform.
“It is also the court’s opinion that their tenure has not expired and there is no division in the PDP.
“The defendants are, therefore, not competent to vote or contribute to any proceedings in the House of Representatives.
“An order of perpetual injunction is, hereby, ordered, restraining them from altering or attempting to change the leadership of the House of Reps,’’ Ademola said.
The NAN reports that the PDP had on Jan. 7 instituted a suit seeking to restrain the House of Representatives from altering the composition of its leadership.
The party had commenced the action following the defection of 37 lawmakers, who won election on its platform, to the opposition APC.
Mr Yunus Usman (SAN), PDP’s counsel had, while arguing his originating summons, faulted the cross-carpeting of the lawmakers, saying that the legislators did so during the dependency of a judgment.
He argued that by virtue of the Oct. 2013 judgment of Justice Evoh Chukwu, which said there was no division in PDP, the matter had been laid to rest.
Usman had further submitted that by virtue of the provision of Section 68(1)(g) of the 1999 Nigerian constitution, as amended, the lawmakers ought to have vacated their seats immediately.
Mr Mamoud Magaji (SAN), counsel to the defendants, had in his submission, argued that it was wrong for the PDP to have sought to restrain its former members from House activities for defecting.
Other defence counsel, Mr Niyi Akintola (SAN), Mr Sebastian Hon (SAN), Mr James Ocholi (SAN), Mr Abiodun Owonikoko (SAN), and Jibril Okutepa (SAN), had prayed the court to dismiss the suit. (Naij)
