7 Reasons Why You Have Bad Breath
We all get bad breath sometimes, but if yours is becoming a chronic
issue, you need to get to the root of the problem. For the most part,
halitosis — the fancy medical term for stinky breath — just means you
need better dental hygiene, but sometimes it signals a more serious
medical condition. Here are some potential causes to watch out for.
1. You're not taking care of your teeth.
Bad dental hygiene causes about 85% of halitosis, according to a 2012 study in theInternational Journal of Oral Science. “Food that is not properly cleared from the mouth serves as a platform for bacteria to latch onto,” says Marc Gibber, M.D. an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor) at Montefiore Medical Center. Since germs like wet, warm environments, if you don't clean your mouth properly, it can become a cesspool and start to smell — bacteria produce the sulfur compounds that give off that infamous rotten-egg stench. Brush and floss twice daily, and don't forget to scrape your tongue, too. “These living-without-oxygen bacteria will collect in the back part of the tongue,” says dentist Richard H. Price, an American Dental Association consumer adviser.
2. You're not drinking enough water.
Being dehydrated can make you produce too little saliva, which is a problem because saliva washes away those smell-causing bacteria. “The saliva we produce will keep the cells in the mouth alive,” says Gibber. “When we decrease the saliva, the cells will start to die off.” Dead, rotting cells stink. Drink water: Nutritionists recommend six to eight 8-ounce glasses a day. Green tea helps hydrate, too — and a 2012 Israeli study found the antioxidants in it change some of the sulfur compounds in bad breath.
3. You're dehydrated because of allergies.
People with allergies who can't breathe through their noses end up breathing through their mouth, which is also drying, says Dale Amanda Tylor, M.D., MPH, general and pediatric otolaryngologist in Freemont, Calif. If you have allergies, make sure to treat your congestion — and also hydrate.
4. You're eating too much of the wrong stuff.
It's a no-brainer that garlic causes bad breath, and we bet you already know to pack your (sugar-free) breath mints when heading out to the Italian restaurant. But did you know that milk products can thicken nasal mucus and lead to a sulfurous smell? “Many professional singers will tell you they try to avoid dairy products so they have a clear voice and don't have that mucus,” says dentist Martha Ann Keels, division chief for pediatric dentistry at Duke Children's Hospital. It can't hurt to go easy on the bread and pasta either. “High-carbohydrate foods promote more bacteria because they're high in sugar,” says Baldeep Singh, M.D., clinical chief of internal medicine at Stanford Hospital & Clinics. “Eating fibrous foods may help.”
5. You have a sinus or tonsil infection.
“Infection can fester in the sinuses,” says Singh, which leads to bad smells. Go to a doctor who can prescribe you antibiotics. Clearing out your sinuses with a Neti pot or Neilmed sinus rinse in a squirt bottle can often help too, says James N. Palmer, M.D., an otolaryngologist and director of rhinology at the University of Pennsylvania. Multiple tonsil infections or cases of strep throat can result in tonsil stones, which are calcium stones that feel like little pebbles in the back of the throat — and emit a strong odor, says Gibber. The best treatment is an old-fashioned salt-water gargle because the high salt content kills bacteria, says Palmer. Add a tablespoon of salt to six ounces of warm water and gargle with it every morning for two or three days. After the salt rinse, eat yogurt with live active cultures – good bacteria.
6. You have acid reflux.
People with heartburn are “burping up stomach acid, and that's on their breath,” says Keels. It produces an acidic, vinegary smell. “A lot of people just think of reflux as heartburn, indigestion,” says Tylor. “[But] it can even go as high as the sinuses or the ears.” How to prevent it? “Everything good is bad for reflux — alcohol, citrusy things, cinnamon, chocolate,” says Tylor.
7. You have a more serious condition, like cancer.
In very rare cases, extremely bad breath can be one of the warning signs of cancer in the nose, ear, neck, or throat. “It's what we call amongst ourselves the cancer smell,” says Gibber. “It's a kind of sour, cheesy smell.” People who have been exposed to radiation, such as those with head and neck cancers, make less mucus — which makes their breath smellier. But remember that bad dental hygiene is a far, far more common cause of bad breath, so don't panic.

SCARY: Woman Wakes Up To Find Large SNAKE In Her Bed, Bites Her On Her Breast (SEE PHOTOS)
There's nothing as scary as finding a large snake crawled up in
one's bed. This is the case of a mother-of- four who thought she was
going to die after she saw a large snake crawled into her bed while she
was sleeping.

The snake
According to DailyRecord reports Caroline Griffin, 49, who had no idea if the four foot snake was poisonous, said she woke up after feeling an unusual movement beneath her sheets.
Throwing back the duvet, Ms Griffin saw the large snake resting on her chest. At first she thought her kids were playing some sort of trick on her, then she saw the snake move and she got the fright of her life.
Ms Griffin
As soon as she started screaming, the snake sank its fangs into her breast chest leaving bruising and puncture marks.
Caroline said she thought she was going to die. But thankfully, the creature was a harmless brown belly California kingsnake which had escaped from a neighbour's home six months earlier.
News of her been bitten spread along her street and a short time later the snake's owner Gareth Niven, 21, arrived at her front door to collect it.
Mr Niven, the owner of the snake, which he calls Hiss, had escaped from his tank six months earlier and is likely to have been living in a derelict house that separates his and Ms Griffin's properties.
Despite there being no risk to Ms Griffin as a result of the bite, kingsnakes are constrictors and the reptile may have killed her had it wrapped itself around her neck.Niven with his snake

News On Obesere Rape Scandal: "They Are Trying To Destroy Case!"
Olanike Olaiya, businesswoman of 29 years
old, who was supposably raped by a popular musician, Alhaji Abass
Akande, famous as Obesere, has contacted the police and asked not to
allow this case to be dismissed in order to keep her safe and stay
alive.
READ MORE: http://news.naij.com/61427.html
She stressed that the fact that Obesere had inserted his ring in her private area, which lead to bleeding and severe pain, should be connected with ritual activities. Olaiya added that she has not been impressed with how the police is handling the case. She even accused one of the Investigating Police Officers of the SCID, State Criminal Investigation Department, for frustrating further investigations in favour of Obesere.

Olaiya added that she has not been impressed with how the police is handling the case. She even accused one of the Investigating Police Officers of the SCID, State Criminal Investigation Department, for frustrating further investigations in favour of Obesere.
In
her comments to Vanguard, the victim, Olaiya, she claimed that the
theory of them being lovers is a lie. Moreover, according to her, she
was not aiming to use false rape charges to claim money from him. Olaiya
said that she was offered the money as soon as the incident happened,
and she refused to take it for several times already.
Olaiya
told her story of how the incident happened. According to her, they
knew each other for two weeks on business matters and she was invited to
his house by a mutual friend, to discuss business only. Olaiya was kept
waiting in Obesere’s house for 5 hours until it became late in the
evening. Obesere refused to let her go and convinced her to stay over in
the house claiming that the neighborhood they were at was very
dangerous for a girl to walk at night. Olaiya stayed in another room
and that night, according to her, she was raped by him and he had
inserted a ring in her private part. She said that she felt like it was
her fault she got raped, because no girl should have stayed to spend the
night at someone else’s house.
According
to Olaiya, she was bleeding and could not stop the pain. She told
Obesere about this, but the singer didn’t take her seriously and told
her to go to a private hospital in Ejibo. She was not given a proper
exam at that hospital and was told to go for a scan and that hospital
didn’t have any. After that, she went to the police and filed a report.
According
to Olaiya, she bled for two weeks and the pain didn’t stop even after
that. She still claims to have problems with her reproductive organs.
Olaiya
filed a report as she wants Obesere to be prosecuted for this case. She
also wants any ritual steps that he might have taken to be reversed.
The
response she got from the IPO was not satisfying as, according to her,
they want to destroy the case and claim that Obesere is innocent. The
medical report she got from the General Hospital was discarded and
replaced it with a fake one, according to Olaiya.
Olaiya is claiming that she is still not feeling well, and that all she wants is a fair investigation and justice.

10 Reasons You Should Take A Break From Sex
Sex can be incredible, but it can also be the giant, panting, red elephant sitting at the dinner table.
Eliminating sex from the equation for a few months after a breakdown (whether it be of a marriage or otherwise) might be a good way to ease a bit of pressure and spend a little more time getting to know someone — which is especially great if that someone is you.
Here are 10 sexy reasons to take a break:
1. You’re worth far too much to sneak home in last night’s clothes, wondering what that acrobatic person’s last name was.
2. Imagine taking a little longer to get to know someone before you drop your knickers and avoiding that, “Gee, if I knew this last week, I would not have slept with you,” feeling.
3. Contrary to popular belief, sex with someone new does not cure past heartaches. Better to give that heart time to heal before you let someone else in your bed.
4. Yes, sex is yummy but flirtations and sexual tension can be utterly delicious. Enjoy them a while!
5. You can wear your comfy cotton undies on dates and your date will be none the wiser.
6. There is something to be said about totally selfish self love. Take yourself on dates, wear sexy unmentionables (for your eyes only) and, at the end of the evening, if you’re so inclined, get to know yourself a little better.
7. STDs just love casual sex.
8. You know that pile of clothes in your bedroom that you keep meaning to pick up and wash? Yeah, you don’t have to do that just yet.
9. Finding new ways to get excited and be intimate with yourself or someone new can be incredible. Cooking, dancing, painting, talking, exercising — the possibilities are endless. Get to know your body, your likes and dislikes, things that turn you on and off and heighten your senses in other ways for a while.
10. When it does happen, it will be because you really, really want it to. Now, that’s sexy.

LIVING HELL: Woman Has Non-Stop Orgasms, Wants To Kill Herself
A 40-year-old woman, Heather McCuen, had a bizarre medical condition which gives her non-stop orgasms, USA.
READ MORE: http://news.naij.com/61377.html
The woman from South Carolina suffers from Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) which began when she became pregnant.
Even basic household chores such as washing or cleaning could set off her orgasms.
In a desperate desire to live a normal life, Heather has tried various costly treatments: intimate botox jabs, anti-depressants, even electric-shock therapy.
As all of the methods failed the woman tired of the constant orgasms and need to masturbate felt compelled to end her own life.
Heather said: "Having orgasms all day might sound like fun but for me, it's a living hell.
I sat down and wrote suicide notes to my family, explaining I was sick of feeling this way and felt the only way out was to leave them behind," she said.
Poor woman, who lives with husband and son cannot even share a bed with her partner and has to sleep alone.
Now the only thing she asked for is a normal life. They haven't shared a bed for all the time of the illness and sex is out of the question.
According to Heather, earlier the couple had a brilliant sex life but now if they sleep together it sets the woman off having to have orgasm after orgasm for days.
PGAD, results in a spontaneous, persistent, and uncontrollable genital arousal in women, with or without orgasm or genital engorgement, unrelated to any feelings of sexual desire.
It was first documented in 2001, only recently characterized as a distinct syndrome in medical literature with a comparable counterpart increasingly reported by men

5 Easy Ways to Boost Your Self-Esteem
Even the most confident of us need a self-esteem
boost from time to time. And more often than not, we have to find this
from within. Here are 5 easy ways to boost your self-esteem, and remind
yourself of just how awesome you really are!
1. Encourage Yourself
Always give yourself credit for making positive changes in your life and trust that you can accomplish your goals. Human beings are not perfect creatures and it’s important to understand that we all make mistakes from time to time. It’s how we bounce back that is key.

2. Build Self-Confidence
It’s important to treat both other people and ourselves with kindness and respect. There will be times in our lives when everything seems to go perfectly. Other times, we’ll be forced to deal with difficult situations. Handling both extremes with grace will provide us with immeasurable self-confidence.

3. Don’t Jump to Negative Conclusions
When there is no evidence to support that you have made another person angry or upset, don’t automatically assume that you have. It’s easy to treat confusing feelings as facts, though in actuality, everyone has their own issues going on. (Most of them have nothing to do with you.) Instead of letting confusion consume you, look deep inside yourself and acknowledge your wisdom, grace and divine fire. All is well within your soul.

4. Identify Situations in Need of Solutions
It’s impossible to fully avoid challenges in life. When it comes to our relationships, jobs, health and more, conflicts are unavoidable. It’s important to remember that there are usually solutions to our problems. Listen to your thoughts and try to interpret what you see yourself doing in order to succeed in the face of adversity. When you remove fear from the equation, anything is possible.

5. Seek Out Positive Guidance
It’s easy to become overwhelmed by mixed messages. We often hear one thing in the media, another from our family and something entirely different from our friends. Fortunately, there are incredible coaches and psychics to help guide us. They’re able to feel your inner self-esteem issues and provide constructive ways in which you can heal and forgive yourself. It’s easy to lose track of self- confidence, but with the right guidance we can be reminded of our beautiful gifts that are often too easy to overlook.
