Assistant Superintendent Of Police Shoots Tricycle Driver Dead (Photo)

The police in Lagos have launched a manhunt for an Assistant Superintendent of Police, identified simply as Mohammed, who allegedly shot dead a tricycle driver, Akeem Aranse, during an argument in the Shasha, Akowonjo area.
Mohammed, who is attached to the Disaster Management Unit of the Department of Operations, Lagos State Police Command headquarters, Ikeja, moved out of his apartment on Unity Close, Egbeda, shortly after the incident,Punch reports.
Mohammed had boarded a commercial motorcycle(okada) which was hit by the tricyle operator on Kareem Laka Street in the Egbeda area.

It was gathered that the incident led to an argument which degenerated into the killing of the tricycle driver by the ASP.
Eyewitnesses explained that some passersby had tried to settle the skirmish but the police officer remained adamant.

The officer was said to have eventually brought out his pistol and shot the tricycle driver.
Thirty-one-year-old Akeem, who was said to have been shot in the chest, reportedly died on the spot.
Our Punch correspondent learnt that the matter was reported to policemen at the Shasha division.
When Punch Metro visited Akeem’s rented apartment on Nusiratu Street, Akowonjo, on Saturday, his tricycle was seen parked outside the house, while friends and neighbours still discussed the incident.
His elder brother, Sulaimon, said Akeem was planning to visit his wife and only child in Ibadan, Oyo State, when he was killed. He added that the death was a shock to the family.
He said,
“We had been living together in this house since he was a boy. We both came from our hometown in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State to work in Lagos. He used to visit his family in Ibadan every three weeks. He was planning to go again this weekend when the tragic incident occurred.
“I was at a friend’s place when I was called about the incident. It was very shocking. Akeem did not have a record of street fighting or violence. He was said to have apologized to the police officer, who was not in uniform, but the man still shot him. The police have taken his corpse to a morgue in Yaba.
“The extended family members would be expecting him in Ibadan, but we have told his wife about the incident.”
Punch  correspondent gathered that the police had gone to the ASP’s house, but all efforts to get him had not yielded any result.

Must Read: Nigerian Visa Reportedly Goes For One Dollar In Some Countries

According to a report by Punch, while Nigerians pay exorbitantly for Visa fees of many foreign countries, some foreigners don't pay much for ours. In fact, 13 countries in the world pay just one dollar. They are: nationals of Mauritania, Monaco, Morroco, New Zealand, Panama, Uruguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Burma, Dominican, Chile and Colombia.

Single-entry Nigerian visa in these countries will cost you between N100 and N 200. For those applying for multiple entries, the fee is multiplied by the number of entries they are seeking.

US citizens are charged the highest, about N14,000 followed by Russia who we charge about N10k.

UK is N9,700, whereas a multiple-visa applicant is charged N16,200.

Countries such as Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Belgium and Spain, pay a little above N6,000 for a single-visa application. Multiple-entry visa application fee in most of the listed countries is N9,000 plus.

Onyeka Onwenu And Patience Ozokwor At War: Find Out why

The 2015 general elections might have come and gone but it left a lot of chaos and rifts that might not be settled for a very long time.
Patience Ozokwor and Onyeka Onwenu reportedly at loggerheads with each ...
It is not a new thing for politicians to use famous entertainment celebrities, ranging from singers to actors and actresses to campaign. It is however strange for these celebs used in propagating the political goodwill of the politician to fight dirty in public glare over insignificant things. This is the story of two entertainment moguls, Onyeka Onwenu and Patience Ozokwor.

According to ThisDay, these two entertainers who were once very good friends have turned into day and night over President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid. It was made known that singer, broadcaster, actor and Director General, National Women Centre, Onyeka Onwenu made a call to the president in order to be a part of his campaign team.

According to popular belief, it is only a well-connected actor/ actress/musician that can see the president at the villa without going through Onyeka. Ozokwor however found a way to get to Aso Villa without Onyeka being in the picture, a step which got the singer slightly annoyed. It was made known that the musician ordered that Ozokwor should revert to her, but it just didn’t work.

It was also made known that the two Igbo women got into a brawl over who should be in charge of the distribution of Jonathan’s campaign fund to a group of certain artistes. At one of the meetings, the centre just couldn’t hold any more and things fell apart. Onwenu and Ozokwor allegedly openly abused themselves and called each other names. It took the intervention of Dame Patience Jonathan to calm the fighting women. They were said to have calmed down just because of the respect they have for the first lady but this obviously have not stopped various violent speeches from both sides at any given time.

Kylie Jenner: I Love Chicken, Not Marijuana!

Kylie and Kris Selfie
In what may be our favorite Tweet of the century, Jenner responded yesterday to rumors that she posted a video to Snapchat late last week in which she was admittedly been high.

The disturbing footage was later removed, seemingly providing evidence that Kylie was trying to hide something.

But, nope, sorry, we all heard very wrong, Kylie wrote today.

"I did a snapchat saying my chicken was "good as f*ck" eating Popeyes for the 1st time and apparently people think I said high as f*ck," Jenner Tweeted this afternoon.

She then added:
“I DID NOT say that. sorry to disappoint everyone who thinks I'm this wild child. The media is mean & I try not to look @ it. So sorry 4 the late statement.”

In Kylie's defense.... Popeye's chicken is really very tasty.

This hasn't exactly been the best week of Jenner's life.

A few days prior to the controversial Snapchat video's release, a clip from Keeping Up with the Kardashians went viral. In it, after months of saying otherwise, Kylie admits to using lip fillers.

So, in this case, Kylie was caught red-handed. In the prior case, she wants us to believe she was simply caught greasy-fingered. (Get it? Because friend chicken is very greasy? Sorry.)

When I look at the whole picture of my life up to when I became the president of this country, I say that if soldiers and police officers that have not received 0. 5 percent of the benefits that I have received from the state can lay their lives for this country, I should do anything in the interest of Nigeria including paying the supreme price.
As long as live, I will continue to do my best for the state because the state has helped
me as a person. I have to thank Nigerians especially my state for giving me the opportunity to serve as deputy governor and the whole country gave me the opportunity to serve as Vice President and then president, first was to complete the tenure of the late president and later serve as president from which I am exiting now as a very happy and fulfilled man.
I believe there are reasons for everything. Some hard decisions have their own cost, no doubt about that. That I have ran the government this way that stabilized certain things, the electoral process and other things that brought stability into this country. They were very costly decisions which I myself must be ready to pay for.
Some people come to me and say this or that person is he not your friend that benefited. Is it not your government that this person benefited from? But this is what the person is saying. But I used to say worse statements will come. If you take certain decisions, you should know that those close to you will even abandon you at some point. And I tell them that more of my so-called friends will disappear.
