Another Liberian Confirmed With Ebola Virus In Lagos

Over a month after the Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer came to Nigeria with the deadly Ebola Virus, another Liberian has been reportedly diagnosed with the disease in Lagos.

CKN NIGERIA reports that another Liberian has been confirmed with the deadly disease in Lagos. This was made known few minutes ago by a Senior Registrar with Igbobi Orthopaedic hospital ,Lagos Dr Akindele Akintayo while speaking at a Morning Television programme monitored  in Lagos.

Dr. Akintayo revealed that the Liberian is in the Lagos Isolation center, although the doctor could not confirm if the newly Ebola virus carrier Liberian had contacts with late Patrick Sawyer or not. World Health Organization recent Ebola update made it known that there are now 2240 cases confirmed while it has recorded 1229 deaths since its outbreak in Africa.

It will be recalled that the Minister of Health yesterday announced the death of Dr Ameyo Adadevoh ,one of the doctors that treated Late Mr Sawyer at First Consultant Hospital,Lagos.

BREAKING: Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Headquarters On Fire

The headquarters of the Nigeria Football federation [NFF] in the Wuse Zone 7 District of Abuja has been gutted by fire reports.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but the Federation’s spokesperson, Ademola Olajire, confirmed the incident.
Mr. Olajire, who said he was just arriving the scene, said the fire began on the third floor of the building.

Premium Times reporter near the area said that offices of the President, Secretary General and the accounts department might have been evacuated.
Fire service officials have arrived the scene and are battling to put out the fire.

The NFF is currently enmeshed in a leadership tussle with Aminu Maigari and Mike Umeh laying claim to the chairmanship of the football body.

Ebola: How Late Dr. Adadevoh Saved Nigeria From A National Disaster

It has been revealed that Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, the consultant physician who passed on last night after having contracted the dreaded Ebola Virus from Patrick Sawyer, reportedly did a heroic job for the country when she forced Sawyer to his bed after he attempted to escape from the hospital . 

Report says Dr. Adadevoh was infected when she forcefully restricted Mr. Patrick Sawyer to his bed after he tried to remove the drip administered on him. That one action, according to experts saved many Nigerian lives because, if Sawyer had succeeded in forcing himself out of the hospital, it would have been nearly impossible to trace those who had contact with him. 

Dr. Adadevoh died at an isolation centre where she had been quarantined alongside other doctors and nurses who treated Sawyer at First Consultants Hospital, Obalende, Lagos. Reports had suggested earlier that she had survived the disease and had been discharged from quarantine, until the Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu issued a statement clarifying that she was not the survivor. 

She is survived by her husband and kids.

Man rapes 7 year old girl in Lagos,damages her private parts

 

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man named Julius for raping a 7 year old girl,damaging her private and distorting her urination.29-year-old Julius, who lived in a rented apartment on Obafalabi Street, Ojodu Berger area of Lagos, allegedly tricked the little girl into his room on the night of Saturday, July 26, and had illegal carnal knowledge of her.

Punch gathered that the victim, a primary one pupil, was the daughter of Julius’s co-tenant. It was further learnt that Julius, who hails from Benin, Edo State, was not married and lived in the apartment with his mother.

On the fateful evening, the victim’s family, who were Muslims, had gone for prayer in a mosque and expected the child to come with them, but could not find her. However, when the family returned, the girl was said to have sneaked out of the suspect’s room, with obvious signs of pain.

Upon interrogation by her parents, the girl was said to have confessed that she was coming from Julius’s room, where he allegedly asked her to remove her pants, while he climbed on her and raped her.

After the confession, the parents were said to have reported the incident at the Ojodu Abiodun Division and Julius was arrested.

The victim's mother said 

On that evening, when we came back from the mosque, she could not bend down properly. I asked her where she went and she initially lied, but later said she had been in his room.
“She said the man asked her to remove her pants, and he put his organ into her, stating that he was just playing with her. I then asked her to repeat the same to her daddy when he came back. But in the morning when we confronted Julius, he denied it. Then we called our family nurse, who came, tested her, and confirmed that she had been raped.
“That same day, we took her to a private hospital where the doctor also confirmed that she had been raped the day before, and on several occasions. So, we reported at the police station. From that day, I observed she could not hold her urine.
“A girl who had stopped bedwetting suddenly began to urinate during sleep. The medical personnel said there was a damage to her private parts that needed to be treated. That was how she resumed treatment at the hospital.”

Her medical report, which was signed by a doctor, identified simply as Dr. Sanni, stated among other things that there was a breach of hymen and the absence of labia minor.

Tragedy: Missing American Journalist James Foley Reportedly Beheaded in Iraq

The situation in Iraq continues to deteriorate and now an absolutely gruesome message has been sent to Americans to stay out. That message purportedly took the life of freelance journalist James Wright Foley, whom ISIS fanatics have said they beheaded.
The militants uploaded video of the journalist, who wrote for the Global Post, being beheaded. The beheading was apparently a message for America to stop meddling in Middle Eastern affairs.
The murder brings back horrific memories of the murder of Daniel Pearl, murdered in 2002 by Al-Qaeda. It seems the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Foley went missing in Syria in 2012; he had been missing for 635 days. He is the oldest of five children. So far, his website, made by his family, has not updated with this terrible, despicable news.

Kate Middleton Is Terrified About Queen Elizabeth’s Declining Health

Oh, I just feel for Kate Middleton with this one. It’s never easy trying to get along with your in-laws and even though the Duchess has done her best to try and please Queen Elizabeth any way that she can, it looks like she is about to face her biggest test when it comes to the Queen and her place in the royal family.
Apparently, Queen Elizabeth’s days are numbered which has got Kate Middleton not only worried for her health, but super stressed as well. At 88-years-old, the Queen knows she won’t be around forever which means Kate has to start stepping up her game, BIG time.
According to the Globe Magazine, Queen Elizabeth recently briefed Kate on her ailing health, leaving it to her as the sole female public figure of the monarchy (because let’s face it, when is the last time we’ve seen Camilla Parker Bowles make any worthy headlines?). The news has gotten Kate so stressed, that she’s said to be drained by all of the changes that are going to be made soon, now that the Queen is cutting back on her responsibilities.  An insider said:

Queen Elizabeth called Kate before the World War I Memorial Event at The Tower of London earlier this month and confessed that her health has deteriorated even more. Apparently, the Queen’s medical team has once again suggested that she cut back her royal duties due to her failing health. Instead of public appearances the queen has been ordered to rest her failing body and it’s a decision that she has made peace with. 

That makes sense since it seems like the Duchess, along with Princes William and Harry, is making most of the royal family’s public appearances these days, right? Still, it’s never easy losing a family member. Even with their differences, at the end of the day Queen Elizabeth is still Prince William’s grandmother and an important person in her life.
So, with all the criticism Kate’s so far gotten for being a “Dull Duchess,” it looks like she’s really going to have to prove herself now that the Queen is slowly leaving the picture. I mean, both her husband and her 1-year-old son are the future Kings of England. If that doesn’t put on the pressure to perform, than I don’t know what will!

Ebola is now in Germany?

A woman was rushed to hospital and hundreds of people were quarantined after she showed symptoms of Ebola virus infection in a jobcentre in Germany.

As many as 600 visitors and staff at the employment office building in Berlin were also stopped from leaving for several hours as emergency services sealed off part of the street.
The mass-circulation daily Bild said the woman had fainted, that she hailed from Nigeria and that she said later that she had recently been in contact with people infected with Ebola.
Several people who had been with the woman inside the building in the north-eastern district of Prenzlauer Berg were later taken to hospital for testing.

Berlin fire department spokesman Rolf Erbe said that because the patient came from 'an area affected by a highly contagious disease, we took these precautions.'
He said the testing in the city's Charite hospital would take some time.
'The patient was isolated inside the ambulance, the staff took the appropriate protective measures. An emergency medic, the public health officer, arrived and the necessary precautions were taken,' he added.
The woman had turned up at the employment bureau with a high fever. A spokesman for the city's health authority said emergency services were called after the woman collapsed.

All 600 people quarantined within the centre were in the suspected victim's vicinity before she collapsed.
West Africa's Ebola epidemic, which has hit four nations since it broke out in Guinea early this year, is by far the deadliest since the virus was discovered four decades ago in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The World Health Organization said the Ebola virus had killed 84 people in just three days, bringing the global death toll to 1,229, while confirmed, probable and suspect infections rose to 2,240.
The outbreak is not yet under control, the UN health agency said, although there have been no confirmed cases of the disease spreading beyond the region at its centre.
A spokesman said: 'As recent experience shows, progress is fragile, with a real risk that the outbreak could experience another flare-up.

'A case in a previously unaffected area was reported last week, indicating continuing spread to new areas.'
European countries have been taking precautions against a possible spread, with Berlin's Charite hospital, where the woman showing symptoms was taken.
