Rihanna To Buy Liverpool FC?
Rihanna is set to take her new found love of football to the next level – by launching a bid to buy Liverpool.
Seriously.
The pop queen entered our hearts during the World Cup in Brazil, by brilliantly live-tweeting matches and adding her own killer insight.
And amid reports that she has been looking to invest in an English football club, Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo says Liverpool are the team of choice.
The paper says she has been advised by close friend and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to make an offer for the Anfield club.
Liverpool are currently owned by John W. Henry’s Fenway Sports Group and it’s unlikely that they’d want to sell, meaning Anfield may be spared a Rihanna takeover.

Ebola: Private Hospitals Reject Patients With Fever Symptoms
Some private hospitals in Lagos yesterday Tuesday August 12th rejected treating patients who visited them with symptoms of fever as part of measures being taking to prevent contracting the Ebola virus.
A visit by the News Agency of Nigeria to some hospitals in Lagos Metropolis showed that nurses and other health workers, including cleaners were seen wearing face mask and gloves while attending to patients.
Also, some of the health facilities were compelling patients to wash their hands and apply sanitisers before proceeding into their building.
Some of the hospitals visited included Jaycee Hospital, Prime Hospital, Lifeline Children’s Hospital and Providence Hospital. A Neurologist at Jaycee Hospital, Dr. Francis Ojini, told NAN that his hospital did not attend to patients who had with fever. Ojini said that it became necessary as health workers were at greater risk of contracting the virus.
“Health workers are the first to be in contact with patients who visited the hospital and so it is necessary we take precautions.
“For now, any illness that has to do with fever is not being attended to as we are trying to be careful because of the new development of the Ebola disease.
“If there is need, we refer patients we feel we cannot treat. We hope we are able to curtail the spread in order to save lives,” he said.
A nurse at the same hospital, who pleaded anonymity, said that nurses wore facemask and gloves when any patients visited the facility.
He said: “We are protecting ourselves from contracting a deadly disease that has no drug or vaccine at the moment.”
Also speaking, the Medical Director, Lifeline Children’s Hospital, Dr. Uche Owowo, said that his hospital was making hand sanitizers available for patients.
Owowo urged the Federal Government and other civil organizations to intensify awareness programmes to educate the masses about the disease.
“Many people still need to know more about the disease, how it can be contracted and how to prevent being infected.
“I believe educating people and making the facilities available and accessible will encourage people to be cautious,” he said.
Efforts to speak with the medical directors and other health workers of Prime Hospital and Providence Hospital proved abortive as they refused to comment. - NAN
Mercy Johnson reveals her biggest fear …
Actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie is afraid of failure.
She shared her phobia of failure during an interview with City People magazine, and opened up on how she deals with criticism. According to her, harsh words no longer move her to tears. ‘I had gone through all of that, growing up, I had cried all the tears I need to cry growing up. Nobody can make me go back now. So it’s like hate all you want, I am moving. So you are just going to stay there and keep talking and I am ahead of you. It’s more or less like you know me, I don’t know you’, she said. She also spoke about her early days as an actress, saying: ‘Success is hard. It’s never easy. It takes more than luck to make the right decisions, and the right choices. A lot of people have actually been acting before me, but they are just nowhere close. It’s not because I am better, it’s grace.
My biggest phobia is failure. I had a phobia for it’, According to the actress, she doesn’t socialize often because she was a bit of a loner as a youngster: I didn’t grow up in an environment that was very sociable, I didn’t have friends. Since I got into the industry I can say I am one person that you can hardly meet in a club house or at party. Even events, it’s really hard to see me there because that’s just not me.’…

Canada offers 1000 Dose of experimental Ebola Virus Vaccine to Africa
The Canadian Public Health Agency has offered to release 1000 dose
of a made-in-Canada experimental Ebola virus vaccine known as VSV-EBOV
which has never been tested on humans but has shown to be effective in
the treatment of the disease in animals.
In a statement released yesterday August 12th, the Canadian
Health Minister Rona Ambrose said the World Health Organization's Director
general, Margaret Chan, has
approved of the donation.
The Minister also revealed that Canada will be donating
$185,000 to the World Health Organization for the prevention and
control of the deadly virus in Africa. Canada has only 1500 of the
experimental vaccine and would be sending 1000 of it to Africa.
"I was pleased to offer the experimental vaccine developed by
Canadian researchers as a global resource to help fight this outbreak,"
she said, adding that between 800 and 1,000 doses would be donated to
the WHO.
The Minister in the statement added that "Canada feels this experimental vaccine is a global resource, so in response we are sharing it with the international community, while keeping a small supply in Canada."

The news comes hours after the World Health Organization said a panel of experts advised that it would be ethical to use untested drugs and vaccines in this raging epidemic, which is several times larger than any previous outbreak.
