Jim Iyke’s View on Single Ladies – Do You Agree?

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke took to his Instagram page yesterday to share an interesting view on single ladies.

Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree. The men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don’t want to get hurt. Instead they get the cold manipulating easier climbs. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top because they value quality away from d spotlight.

“The ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Commission announces with deep regret the passing of a staff member of its Lagos Liaison Office, Mr Jatto Asihu Abdulqudir, aged 36,” it said in a statement.

“Mr Abdulqudir, a protocol assistant, was among those who assisted the Liberian delegate Mr Patrick Sawyer to a regional meeting who died from the Ebola Virus Disease at a Lagos hospital on 25th July 2014.”
It was gathered that the late ECOWAS official had been quarantined since Sawyer was confirmed as having Ebola, which has killed more than 1,000 people since the start of the year, most of them in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

“The Commission wishes to use this opportunity to express its gratitude to Nigerian government authorities and others who contributed to managing the late official while under quarantine,” it added.

“The Management of the Commission wishes to commiserate with Mr Abdulqudir’s family and colleagues and prays for the repose of his soul.”
It would be recalled that Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday branded Sawyer a “crazyman” for bringing Ebola into Nigeria, despite his sister having died from it and that he reportedly displayed symptoms before getting on a flight to Lagos.

Also, a nurse who treated the late Sawyer died of Ebola in Lagos, while tests last weekend confirmed that another nurse had also contracted the virus.

As of August 9, the World Health Organization (WHO) said there were 13 probable or suspected cases of Ebola in Nigeria, including two deaths.
The Nigerian Ministry of Health had stated last week that there were 10 confirmed cases of Ebola virus in Nigeria, with more than a hundred people being monitored for signs of the disease.
According to reports, the late Sawyer was in Nigeria to have attend an ECOWAS meeting and Abdulqudir escorted him to hospital in the Ikoyi neighbourhood from Lagos airport, where he arrived on a flight from Monrovia via the Togolese capital, Lome.

It is understood he then returned to the ECOWAS offices on nearby Lagos Island.
Investigation revealed that the offices have been closed and disinfected as a precaution while staff have been informed of preventative measures to take, including seeking prompt medical advice in the event of illness.
ECOWAS had on Monday, 11 August, 2014, stated that the Ebola virus outbreak threatened West Africa’s social and economic progress and sought the support of all member states and partners to tackle the spread of Ebola. (Naija.com)

Man Kills His Mother For Allegedly Using Witchcraft To Stall His Progress.

A 29-year-old man,Ekene Ucheagwu, who killed his 65-year-old mother, Agnes in her home at Ogbunka in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State was yesterday paraded by men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad,SARS Awkuzu.

Ekene, a cobbler, said he had to kill his mother because she was using witchcraft to block the progress of her surviving four children.

Narrating his story, the suspect said: “I decided to kill her because she did not allow the spirit of God to come into our family.
”Once she cursed anybody, that person will never progress and she was doing it to my brothers and sisters very often.

I am the only one among her six children (two later died) that knew her secrets. My elder brother, who is 45 years old is yet to get married and nobody in our area agrees to marry any of my sisters or their daughters to marry any of us.

When I confronted her by calling her ‘queen of the coast’, she tried to kill me, having known that I knew her secrets and that was why I decided to kill her first.
I hit her on the head with a big stick at night and she slumped and died and I carried her in a wheelbarrow that night to the Obukwu bush in my community where I burnt her body to ashes.”

He said that after some days of the incident, some people in the community, who did not see her, began to suspect that something terrible had happened, but they could not prove anything, adding that when he could not explain the whereabouts of his mother, the villagers banished him from the community.
Ekene said he fled to Aba, Abia State where he continued with his business until men of SARS arrested him.

He told Vanguard that his late mother never got married, adding that she had all her six children in her father’s house and they all answer her maiden name.

He said that having realised the enormity of his action, he was regretting killing his mother, although he insisted that; ”When the kingdom of God finally comes, people would realise that I did the right thing.”
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Uche Eze, who paraded the suspect said investigation into the matter was continuing

It is a pity, what has this world turned into? she carried you for nine months and watched you grow, she should have kill you then....oh yes! after all she had all the opportunity to do so.....

Breaking News: Spanish priest with Ebola dies

MADRID (AP) — A Spanish missionary priest being treated for Ebola died Tuesday in a Madrid hospital amid a worldwide ethical debate over who should get an experimental Ebola drug.

Spain's Health Ministry said Monday it had obtained a course of the U.S.-made experimental Ebola drug ZMapp to treat Father Miguel Pajares, 75.

Pajares died Tuesday at Carlos III Hospital, the hospital and his order said. The hospital would not confirm that he had been treated with the drug, but his order said earlier that he would be.

He is one of only three Ebola patients thought to have received the experimental treatment. The others are two Americans evacuated to Atlanta. The vast majority of those sickened by the virus have been Africans.

The World Health Organization says 1,013 people have died so far in the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and authorities have recorded 1,848 suspected, probable or confirmed cases of the killer virus. The virus was detected in Guinea in March and has since spread to Sierra Leone, Liberia and possibly Nigeria.

Pajares had been treating people with Ebola at the San Jose de Monrovia Hospital in Liberia when he became ill, and was evacuated to Spain on Thursday. He worked for the San Juan de Dios hospital order, a Spain-based Catholic humanitarian group that runs hospitals around the world.

On Tuesday, the U.N. health agency denied reports from Liberia that it had authorized the experimental Ebola drug for that hard-hit nation.

"We were not involved in transferring the serum and we will not be involved in any future transfers of it," said Gregory Hartl, a WHO spokesman. "WHO doesn't have any role in handing out the serum or any other experimental medicines."

WHO was holding a news conference later Tuesday to discuss the ethical issues surrounding unproven Ebola drugs and vaccines.

Liberia also backed away from its earlier claim that President Barack Obama had approved the use of experimental Ebola drugs for two Liberian doctors.

In a statement Tuesday, a U.K.-based public relations firm representing the Liberian government said the experimental Ebola treatment would be arriving within the next 48 hours.

"The two doctors gave their consent, themselves being medical professionals, for the drug to be administered," the statement said. "The drugmaker has agreed to supply a sufficient amount of this drug only for these two patients."

Also Tuesday, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf suspended all travel by executive branch officials for one month. She also ordered those already abroad to return home within a week "or be considered as abandoning their jobs," according to a statement from her press secretary.

Most airlines flying in and out of the Liberian capital of Monrovia have suspended flights amid the unprecedented health crisis.

Associated Press writer Jonathan Paye-Layleh in Monrovia, Liberia contributed to this report.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick Robbed of Briefcase Full of Cash!!!

A thief robbed Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick of a briefcase full of cash earlier this summer, because they obviously have those sitting around. Southampton, N.Y. law enforcement officials say it was Scott who reported the case filled with $4,000 was jacked from their bedroom between July 1-4.
  • Scott Disick at a Fashion Show
  • Kourtney Pic
No word if Disick had alcohol poisoning during that stretch and that's why he can't pinpoint the exact day of the theft. We're kidding. And sorry. Mostly.
They reportedly think it may have been an inside job, as these sort of incidents are seemingly happening to the famous family with startling regularity.
If you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians online, you know Khloe got robbed in similar fashion, and Kourt feels the burglar is someone close to them.
Nothing else was reported stolen and there was no indication of forced entry, furthering the belief that this person knew what to look for and where.
Kourtney reported a similar theft in February at her home in Calabasas - in which someone pilfered $50,000 (!) - and this was after the Khloe robbery.
In that case, someone ripped off around $250,000 worth of jewelry from Khloe's home. That krime was also never solved, but the krew was suspected.
Between Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and now Kourt's Hamptons spinoff, the support staff working for the Kards has become a massive enterprise.
Definitely sounds like an inside job to us. That or Lamar's drug dealers are really stealthy and looking to collect any way they can from his former in-laws.

Ebola: Pregnant Woman tests positive for Ebola in Lagos

A pregnant woman who went for her usual check up at the First Consultant Hospital Obalande – same hospital that Patrick Sawyer was admitted -  tested positive to the virus on Friday. She got infected after being treated by the same nurse, Obi Justina Ejelonu, who attended to the Liberian carrier, Patrick Sawyer.

Recall that two nurses came in direct contact with Mr. Sawyer and one of them is dead – the other nurse, Justina is still alive.

The pregnant woman has since been quarantined at the mainland hospital where there is an isolation emergency centre for Ebola virus victims.
