Read How Chelsea’s Move For Sami Khedira Depends On John Obi Mikel

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is interested in Sami Khedira, yet is currently unable to make a bid for the Real Madrid midfielder. According to the latest speculation from The Daily Star, Mourinho – who has been very active indeed in the transfer market so far this summer with moves for Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Filipe Luis and Didier Drogba – has World Cup winner Khedira on his list of potential replacements for John Obi Mikel, yet is unable to move forward in this regard until the Nigerian’s future at Stamford Bridge is fully resolved.

Mikel – whose initial move to Chelsea in 2007 involved a rather acrimonious dispute with Premier League rivals Manchester United- has featured on a regular basis for the Blues over recent seasons, winning the Premier League title, four FA Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League during his seven-year stint in West London. While he has generally been a steady and reliable performer for a succession of different managers, however, the former Lyn Oslo starlet is clearly not regarded as an indispensable member of Chelsea’s first-team squad under Jose Mourinho.

January’s return of Serbian international Nemanja Matic hugely increased competition in Mourinho’s midfield and the recent purchase of Spanish international Fabregas is likely to further reduce Mikel’s chances of starting on a regular basis moving forward. Chelsea’s desire to sell Mikel has been quite apparent for several weeks now. Only last month, reports suggested that several Serie A clubs had been offered the chance to sign him for a fee of just £5 million.

Chibok girls: Jonathan replies US Today's critical editorial

Amid all the horrors that regularly compete for the world's attention, missing chibok school girls shouldn't be forgotten. For one thing, the teenage captives are symbols of the importance of educating girls. They were all seized after returning to school in a dangerous area to take their final exams. Among them are future lawyers, doctors and teachers — women who could someday help lead their country.

For another, there's evidence that the international uproar might have helped raise the cost of harming the girls too high even for Boko Haram, an extremist group that regularly kidnaps and kills in its quest to bring a brutal form of fundamentalist Islam to parts of Africa.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that U.S. surveillance flights spotted large groups of girls, suspected of being the captives, in remote parts of Nigeria. That dovetails with reports that Boko Haram — whose name means “Western education is forbidden” — is treating at least some of the kidnapped girls with unusual care.

Leaders of the group, after first warning that the girls would be sold into slavery, later offered to trade them for Boko Haram prisoners held by the Nigerian government. The world's focus on the girls has made them both valuable pawns and risky victims. The response of the Nigerian government, which has often seemed overmatched in its five-year struggle with Boko Haram, doesn't inspire much confidence. President Goodluck Jonathan at first largely ignored the incident, then claimed activists invented it, and finally yielded to pressure to accept international assistance. Jonathan, in Washington this week for a U.S.-Africa summit , says his government is making every effort to find the girls. But he offers no evidence, is dismissive of the foreign help and argues that divulging any details could compromise the mission.
Jonathan has said repeatedly that a military operation to free the girls would probably result in the deaths of many, all but ruling it out. In the place of military action is bargaining, and Nigerian leaders have sent ambiguous signals about who is negotiating and what's on the table.

The challenge of fighting militants who casually sacrifice civilian lives in the name of religion isn't confined to Nigeria. American forces have struggled inconclusively with extremists in Iraq and Afghanistan for more than a decade.
The world's anger can sometimes seem a weak candle next to the flame of intolerance and murder, but in the case of the captive Nigerian schoolgirls, it's important to keep it burning.

Scientists: Are we *sure* Ebola isn’t airborne?

Scientists do not exclude the possibility of Ebola virus transmission by air through aerosolised particles.

It was commonly considered that the deadly disease is transmitted human-to-human through direct contact with infected patients or through contact victim’s body fluids. However the fresh studies suggest another possible development.

The fears appeared in the case of . Therefore, implications of the possibility of Ebola transmission in an enclosed environment, such as an aircraft cabin, have emerged.

Studies showed that Ebola virus is transmissible to monkeys from infected pigs without them coming into direct contact. The Ebola virus survives for days outside infected hosts and can "ride" on aerosolised droplets to spread to potential victims.
To demonstrate this, Canadian scientists housed the pigs carrying the virus in pens with the monkeys in close proximity, but separated by a wire barrier. In 8 days some monkeys started experiencing symptoms associated with Ebola. Which suggests aerosolised organisms can possibly cause infection.

According to the Canadian Public Health Agency:
"The virus can survive in liquid or dried material for a number of days. Infectivity is found to be stable at room temperature or at 4 degrees Celsius for several days, and indefinitely stable at -70 degrees Celsius. Infectivity can be preserved by lyophilisation. Hence, it is implied that Ebola viruses can survive for several days on common objects such as door knobs or household surfaces. If an infected Ebola victim runs around touching such common objects after cleaning blood or mucous from his nose, another innocent victim can easily infect himself by touching the same objects and then eating some food that places the virus in his mouth."

The currently incurable disease has already claimed hundreds of lives in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. Yesterday  by Patrick Sawyers’s doctor. Health officials have revealed that now there are – all these people were in contact with Sawyer who became the first victim of the virus on the Nigerian territory.

Kim Kardashian Shows Some Serious Cleavage to Jimmy Kimmel

Well, this is definitely a lot of look.

Kim Kardashian showed up to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday night sporting an outfit only she would attempt to pull off.

The reality TV star appeared on the late night show in a creation from Ulyana Sergeenko, stepping out in an extremely low-cut white bustier and cream pants, with a turquoise robe that tied at the waist. She completed the look with some big hair styled by Chris McMillan.

She apparently liked the outfit so much, she wore it for her brand new passport photo -- which she posted online Tuesday afternoon with the caption "New passport pic #Mrs.West #NameChange."

While on Kimmel, Kim opened up about her wedding day with Kanye West -- and revealed which of her sisters partied a little too hard the night before.

"Khloe drank a little too much, so I had to wake her up. She was laying down sleeping, getting her makeup done for the wedding," Kim revealed. "They had to do it while she was sleeping. She was so hungover! I think everyone just had such a good time at Versailles, they drank way too much."

Kardashian also told Jimmy that she's "obsessed with changing diapers" and challenged the late night host to a diaper changing competition. Check out the video to see who won!

Kate Middleton Baby Bump Sighting? Duchess Stuns in Blue Dress, Holds Purse Strategically

Looking stunning as ever, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton strategically placed a purse over her tummy during a royal appearance Tuesday.
It was enough to send the media and gossip-loving public into a frenzy wondering if there is indeed something blooming ... and we're not talking about the flowers!
  • Kate Middleton: Baby Bumpin' in Blue?
  • Kate Middleton: Baby Bump in Blue?
Is Kate Middleton pregnant with her second child? We highly doubt it, as the alleged "baby bump" shown on this day would not be called that on anyone else.
When you're Kate, and rumors swirl about you being knocked up (hopefully expecting a baby girl this time) all day every day, this somehow qualifies.
Seriously, though? If her supposed friend Jessica Hay's recent "confirmation" were at all accurate, she would be showing a lot more than this by now.
A lot more. What she is showing is a great deal of emotion, having visited the Tower of London’s “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red” installation.
Kate, husband Prince William and Prince Harry paid tribute to the site, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I.
It will eventually hold 888,246 ceramic red poppies, representing each and every British and British colonial loss of life during the "Great War."
That, not feeling imprisoned in London (another great tabloid rumor of recent weeks), was enough to bring a tear to the 32-year-old's eye on this day.

Kim Kardashian Squeezes Her Big Tempting Asset Into a Tight Jeans(PHOTOS)

It must be difficult having a bum the size of Kim Kardashian’s. We struggle to get into a pair of jeans sometimes but we imagine it must have taken the reality TV queen a LOT of effort to get into these tight denim pants. Maybe her rapper husband Kanye West helped to yank them up over her incredible curves and jiggle the zip, because it couldn’t have been achieved single-handedly.

How did she squeeze into those? The 33-year-old beauty teamed her tight ripped jeans with a pair of nude strappy sandals, a dark cream top and light cream zip-up jacket, which she left open to expose her tanned cleavage. Kim was heading to film a TV interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live where she got involved in a diaper changing competition and gushed about seeing her beau Kanye on the wall of interviewee photographs. She posted a series of snaps on Instagram of her visit to the studios, including a snap of her kissing the photograph of Kanye, along with the caption: “I’m at Jimmy Kimmel and look who I see… !”
