Buhari stopped ​Nigeria from sinking – Tinubu

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu has credited President Muhammadu Buhari for saving Nigeria from “sinking”.

The flagbearer made the comment during his campaign on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Tinubu promised to build on the successes of the Buhari administration.

He listed infrastructure, agriculture and the war against terrorists as some areas of achievements.

Tinubu said the country was insecure pre-2015, and that Buhari’s intervention was sought.

“We turned to retired Gen. Buhari and he embarked on rehabilitation, recovery and redeeming of Nigeria.

“Nigeria was sinking but Buhari pulled us out and said that Nigeria will not sink in his time and in the time of the APC.”

The former Lagos govenor added that terrorists’ flags are no longer visible in local governments and communities.

2023: Peter Obi lives in Lagos, I’ll return him to Anambra – Tinubu

Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu on Tuesday revealed that his Labour Party counterpart, Mr Peter Obi, resides in Lagos State.

Speaking at the APC presidential campaign flag-off at the Rawang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, the Plateau State capital, Tinubu claimed that Obi does not know road to his home town in Anambra State.

Tinubu said the former Anambra Governor would be returned to Anambra after the 2023 presidential elections.

He said: “Peter Obi, Haaa! This Obidient. He lives in Lagos not in Anambra. He doesn’t know the road. We will return him to Anambra. We will chart him a new course.”

DAILY POST earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari and other party stakeholders were at the campaign kick-off in Jos on Tuesday.

Some of the APC Governors who made remarks at the rally, urged Nigerians to vote Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima to succeed Buhari in 2023.

DJ Cuppy will never get married – Uche Maduagwu

Self acclaimed Nigerian celebrity and alleged actor, Uche Maduagwu, has taken to social media to opine that billionaire’s daughter, DJ Cuppy may never get married.

This comes after her billionaire father, Femi Otedola, gifted her a 5 million pounds house for her 30th birthday.

Cuppy turned 30 on Friday Nov. 11, 2022. She took to her Instagram Stories to reveal the generous gift her father gave her to commemorate the day.

Reacting to the report on an Instagram blog, Uche Maduagwu took to the comment section and wrote, “Cuppy no fit smell marriage because she keep waiting for a billionaire man like her Papa to propose to her, forgetting that her own Papa allegedly married a poor man”

16-year-old boy rapes brother's wife and nine other ladies in Ondo

 

Men of the Ondo state security outfit, codenamed, Amotekun, have arrested a 16-year-old teenager, identified as Precious, for allegedly raping his brother’s wife and nine women in the state.

 

Parading the suspect before newsmen on Friday, November 11, the state commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye, said that the suspect raped the wife of his brother when he travelled outside the town. Precious reportedly walked into the bedroom of his brother and noticed that the wife was naked and sleeping, he then took advantage of her.

 

In an interview with newsmen, Precious admitted to committing the crime and then confessed to have raped nine other girls at Laosun, a farm settlement in Ondo West local government area.

 

“In Laosun, I have raped nine girls. Some of them are 19 or 25 years, in the night, I will go into their rooms and start sleeping with them. I do not use gun or knives to threaten them. Sometimes I would be caught and they would beat me and leave me. I have been arrested before. I was arrested for stealing 25 litres of palm oil. I wanted to gather money to use it to buy phone. I came to the house and saw my brother’s wife sleeping naked. I went into the room and slept with her.” 

 

The Amotekun Commander said the suspect would soon be charged to court.

Femi Otedola surprises DJ Cuppy with N2.6bn house on her 30th birthday

Femi Otedola, a Nigerian billionaire and father to disc jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has surprised her with a country home worth £5 million to celebrate her 30th birthday.

Otedola, who on Friday, in a post shared on social media, bragged about his daughter’s achievement @30, wrote ”Happy 30th Birthday to my pink-haired angel, Papa is so proud of the woman you have become. You have achieved so much in these 30 years and May God Bless your next 30. Love You. F.Ote.”

Cuppy was left speechless over the luxury gift from her father, as she shared the screenshot of her private chat with her billionaire father on the instagram page.

The entertainer, in the chat, reminded her dad that it was her birthday and he stated that he didn’t forget her day.

The billionare in the text replied Cuppy that he had instructed someone to give DJ Cuppy a £5,000,000 country home.

Nigerian man who killed his wife arrested by Police in Delta

Delta State Police Command has arrested a middle-aged man, David Olori, who murdered his 42-year-old wife, Oghogho Olori, in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, November 11, 2022.

According to the PPRO, police acted on a distress call from the younger brother of the victim who found her dead in their apartment.

The victim’s brother had visited because he had not heard from her for some time but discovered that the door to the apartment was locked.

“On 2/11/2020, the DPO Ozoro received a distress call that on same date, the house of one Oghogho Olori ‘f’ aged 42years was visited by her younger brother who has not heard from her for some time, but he discovered that the door to the apartment was locked from outside which an offensive odour was emitting from the apartment,” the statement read.

“The DPO swiftly mobilized men who broke into the apartment and discovered that the victim has been murdered and the husband was nowhere to be found.

“The Command embarked on a manhunt of the husband who was suspected to have committed the offense.

“Consequently, on 3/11/2022, the husband of the victim reported himself at the Police station and confessed to the crime stating that he murdered her over a disagreement. Investigation is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, a family member of the deceased who craved anonymity, said the suspect and husband of the deceased hailed from Umolo Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area. 

CBN Governor, Emefiele’s policies bringing APC to disrepute – Tinubu Support Group

The South South Agenda for Tinubu/Shettima (SSAT) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to audit the accounts of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

It said the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele should be suspended from office to enable the board of the Bank, of which the Governor is Chairman, as well as the Financial Reporting Council, to look into the books of the Bank unhindered.

It claimed that the monetary policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria in recent times were bringing the ruling APC to disrepute.

In a press statement through their National Coordinator, Mr. Bitrus Nta Oliver, the group threatened to commence legal action against President Buhari and the Senate if they failed to do the needful.

It insisted that an independent audit of the bank will expose the damage Mr. Godwin Emefiele had allegedly done to the Bank and indeed the Nigerian economy.

“If we do not see any action by the President within the next 96 hours, we shall immediately launch a suit to compel the suspension of the Governor from office because as the Chairman of the Board of the bank, he cannot be a judge in his own case.

“So, he will have to step aside while the Board looks into the books alongside the Financial Reporting Council,” he stressed.

Bitrus further blamed the current economic woes of the country on Mr. Emefiele and his incompetence.

He said, “Removal of Emefiele immediately as the Governor of the CBN will help redeem the economy of the country and draw it back from the brink.

“He has abused his office by using the same to get involved in politics and investors do not have confidence in our monetary policy anymore”.

However, there have been several calls and criticism against the leadership of the Bank since the announcement of the decision of the Bank to redesign the N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes, which will cease to be legal tender by the 31st of January, 2023.

Buhari govt amends terrorism charges against Nnamdi Kanu

 

The Nigerian Government has amended the seven-count terrorism charges against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The Government filed the amended seven-count terrorism charge against Kanu.

The amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, which was entered before the Federal High Court in Abuja, contained all allegations against Kanu that were earlier sustained by the court.

In a broadcast, the Federal Government said Kanu had issued a deadly threat that anyone who flouted IPOB’s sit-at-home order in the South-East should write his or her will.

The Government claimed that in 2018, Kanu severally made broadcasts that incited his members to kill security operatives and families.

It noted that the offence was punishable under Section 1 (2) (h) of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act, 2013.

Student hailed by colleagues for resuming school with limousine - See Video

In a video making the rounds online, some of the undergraduate’s colleagues in the Faculty of Social Science could be heard expressing amazement.

They hailed him for showing up to school with a limousine and said that he would most likely snatch people’s girlfriends.

Young men hinted that he was putting pressure on others in the university.
