As an Igbo lady I love this soup so much, it's my first soup learnt from my mum. The secret of a well thicken bitter leaf soup is "Ede and ogiri" my mama say's that alot.

Ingredients:

1. Assorted meats (Beef, goat meat, snail, Ponmo, Shaki are ideal)
2. 15 Medium Size Cocoyam (Ede)
3. 2 handful Bitter leaves (washed)
4. 1 Cooking Spoon Palm oil
5. 2 dry Fish
6. 1 stock fish(okporoko)
7. 2 handful crayfish
8. 2 Tablespoon Ogiri igbo
9. 4 piece yellow pepper
10. 1 Tablespoons Ground black pepper or 3 Scotch Bonnet blended
11. 3 Bouillon Cubes (maggi crayfish)
12. to taste Salt

Steps

1. Boil your proteins, start with the tougher meats like Cow leg and Shaki first. When they’re slightly tender, add beef, stock and dry fish. Leave to cook till soft….lastly add the snail

2. While boiling my meat I Thoroughly Wash my Bitter leaf then boil to get rid of as much bitterness as you can. There should be almost no hint of bitterness left in the leaves after this process.

3. Boil the Cocoyam with the skin on. boil till tender, this should take roughly 15 minutes on high heat

4. When they are soft, gently peel the skin off and pound till smooth in a mortar. Alternatively, chop them into small chunks and purée in your electric blender or food processor till smooth, then set aside…

5. Then add the blended cocoyam to the boiling meat stock Add palm oil, ogiri, pepper and grounded crayfish  cover and leave to cook until the cocoyam lumps are well dissolved. !

6. Add bitter leaves, maggi & salt to taste, do not mix immediately leave to simmer for 5 minutes then now mix. soup is ready. Enjoy with fufu😉

Rico "Orc" Ledesma, 41, is set to star in a Hollywood film after transforming himself into a monster-like creature with eyeball tatts, tusks, a stretched septum and split tongue.

Ledesma who lives in Brazil, is an avid tattoo addict.

 

He is married to Krishna Insomnia, 25, they have a daughter and are expecting another child.

Rico and his wife Krishna, who is a body piercing pro and goes by the name “Bat”, met online before getting married.

 

In the last couple of years, Rico has been turning himself into a monster-like creature with fanged teeth, a split tongue and tattooed eyeballs.

He spent £400 having two giant fake teeth fitted to his mouth and has eight subdermal piercings placed under his skin.

Rico explained: "I started to change seven years ago in order to look different but the project to look like an Orc is less than a year old.

"I got six false teeth placed in August 2020 and I'm going to put two bigger ones in, even though I'm having trouble eating and drinking.

“The new Orc modification project consisted of the implantation of two more tusks (two large teeth), body art which is almost all in black with some grey spots and some burns and modifications.

"Today I have 85% of my body tattooed.

“The teeth were the final touch to the Orc project and came after a lot of study and sleepless nights.”

Rico’s teeth were done by a dentist who “embraced” his project.

He said: "She did a perfect job and I've already scheduled in with her again for the next mission."

His blackout tattoo was done to compliment the body mods and was "the most time-consuming and one of the painful parts" of his transformation. Most of the tattoos were done by his wife.

The artist says his family and friends love his new look – even his daughter.

He said: "She loves and supports me in all my transformations.

“If one day in the very distant future she wants to make some changes to her appearance too, I will be proud of her.”

 

His look has earned him the attention of film producer, Michel Reilhac, who is best known for his films Snow White and The Intruder and now he’s set to make his hollywood debut .

He said: "We will start filming in October in Barcelona and the Canary Islands.

"I can't say much about the film but I can say that it will be innovative and playful – something that has never been seen before in cinema.

“Me and the whole team are very anxious for the cinema debut.”

The chairman of the occasion was the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who donated money at the ceremony.

Imo Prison Break: The people that attacked Imo are not IPOB – Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma says

Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, says the attacks in the state was not carried out by IPOB and Eastern Security Network.

On Monday, April 5, there was an attacked by unknown gunmen at the Owerri Correctional Prison which led to the escape of inmates. The gunmen also set the Imo State Police Command headquarters in Owerri ablaze, as vehicles parked at the command headquarters were also burnt.

The Eastern Security Network group were accused of being the masterminds behind the attacks, but their group leader Nnamdi Kanu has denied the allegations.

Speaking to Channel TV, Governor Hope Uzodinma said that the IPOB did not carry out the attacks. He revealed that the attacks in the state were sponsored by aggrieved politicians to destabilized his APC government.

Uzodinma said: “Their (tactics is that they try to identify grievances of people in a particular area. If it is in Imo State and probably there are some IPOB people who are not happy, they hire hoodlums from outside Imo State, they bring them in pretending to be IPOB and they commit these crimes and they go away.

“So, it is not about IPOB. Yes, we agree, we have aggrieved IPOB members but I can tell you those who are doing this destruction, most of them were brought in from outside Imo State.

“What is important for Nigerians to know is the plot by a group of aggrieved politicians to destabilise the government of APC.

“I have done some thorough investigation and I have some credible lead as to those who are sponsoring these activities of these hoodlums.

“I don’t want to pre-empt the investigations of other security agencies but I can tell you we are working hard to ensure the sponsors of this dastardly acts must be brought to book.

Evil: Man cuts off hand of 16-year-old student for resisting rape attempt

A 16-year-old senior two student in Bududa District, Uganda,was waylaid and attacked by a machete-wielding man who cut off her hand after she resisted his attempt to rape her.

Evelyn Namasopo told Mbale Chief Magistrate, Mr James Mawanda, during a session at Bubulo Magistrate’s Court in Manafwa District on Wednesday, April 7, that the 25-year-old suspect Derrick Kuloba, attacked her near a forest on her way home to pick beddings and food for her sick mother who had been admitted.

“He (Kuloba) started ordering me to undress and when I refused he pulled out a machete and started cutting me. He wanted to cut my head but I tried to guard it with my right hand,” she told court during hearing of a case in which Kuloba is accused of attempted murder.

Evelyn said she made an alarm hoping to get help but in vain, adding that she’s still experiencing a lot of pain, she also accused police and Mbale Court of trying to frustrate her case because Kuloba was released under unclear circumstances a few days after his arrest.

Prosecution told court that Kuloba, a resident of Nabooti Village, Nakatsi Sub-County in Bududa District, on July 4, 2020 armed with a machete, waylaid the victim and attacked her before chopping off her right hand in a botched rape

The girl also sustained several injuries on other parts of the body. Prosecution presented three witnesses; the victim, her cousin and uncle.

In her testimony, the girl further asked court to give Kuloba a harsh punishment.

The case was adjourned to April 8, 2021 when Prosecution is expected to present more witnesses in court.

4#Fenugreek

Just take some amount of carrier oil and add two drops of essential oil to it. Massage your skin with this oil for 10 minutes and then wash off with warm water. 7#Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is very good for the skin and it helps in tightening the skin cells as well. It has lot of antioxidants that helps n fighting off the free radicals. Man rapes 12 year old daughter and tries to kill wife for stopping him

A man raped his 12-year-old daughter and tried to kill his wife when she attempted to stop him from assaulting her. The incident took place in a small village in Lokoja a southern state of on Friday 8th May, 2020.

According to police, the unidentified 45-year-old man reached home drunk Friday night and took the girl to an adjoining room where he attempted to rape her. Upon hearing the girl’s screams, the man’s wife and 14-year-old daughter rushed to the room.

When the wife attempted to stop him from assaulting their younger daughter, the man tried to strangle her to death. The girl, however, managed to escape. They immediately alerted the neighbors who in turn called the police. However, before the officers could reach the scene, the accused had fled.

The 12-year-old daughter told the investigators that her father first raped her in January and has since assaulted her several times. Investigation also revealed that the man had also raped his 14-year-old daughter in the past and continued to threaten to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

A case of rape and child abuse and Molestation has been filed against the accused. A search by the police was put in place and the accused was cought and is awaiting trial.

Photos: Unidentified Skeleton Found in A Pastor's House in Ogun State

Peace Land Estate, Akute, Ogun State was a scene of horror on Thursday, as a human skeleton, believed to be that of a woman, was found in a Pastor’s house.

The sad incident was uncovered when the owner of the house, where the Pastor lived, tried to evict him from his flat over non payment of rent.

The pastor was owing a year's rent.

The landlady, stormed his home with some people to evict him, but they were shocked when they discovered a human skeleton inside one of his rooms.

The situation attracted people to the scene while the matter was quickly reported to the police.

However the suspect, who owns a church, was said to have made some revelations about the skeleton.

He alleged that it belonged to his sister.
According to him, his parents had three children, himself and two sisters, whom he lived with in the flat.

For sometime, one of his sisters named Funmi was not seen and when people asked about her, he would say she went to the mountain.

The Funmi was said to have died since 2010 and her body was abandoned in the house.

From the position of the skeleton, it appeared the deceased was kneeling on the ground.

The Police have arrested the Pastor and investigation continues.

Iyankpo group, the Ijimkorobo group, the Alagbariye group from Ebeni, and the Saugeye group.

The Iria Ritual is popular to various tribes in the Niger Delta, with some forms of the ritual being harsher than the others. It typically involves young girls who are between 14 and 16 undergoing rituals that prepare them for marriage. In some places, these girls have to be bare-breasted in front of the crowd for inspection. The goal of this is to ensure that their virginity is intact.



The young girls also get to visit the fattening room where they are well fed with body nourishing meals, especially pounded yam mixed with pounded plantain.

In the fattening room, the ladies are pampered and are prepared to dance half-naked at the market square. At the end of their stay in the fattening room, they are changed and look more beautiful. Their bodies are then painted in different colours for the dance.


In time past, it was believed that if one did not go through the Iria ritual it would be very difficult for her to have a child. One of the common belief among the people is that young women going through puberty have attachments to water spirits and so, they gather at dawn to chase the spirits. After this, a senior male member of the tribe strikes the girls with sticks sending them back to the village.

A wicked father smashed the new born on the floor and the baby died instantly in Imo State

The wife of a 49-year old man was delivered of a new born baby, the issue of gender in families played out in Imo State after he found out the 5th child was female. Out of rage, he smashed the new born on the floor and the baby died instantly. Ezekiel Anorue, has been arrested by the Imo Stat Police Command for killing a new born child and is now facing charge for murder which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

Police source said that the dastardly act was exposed after the wife raised alarm when the child stopped breathing immediately the father hit her on the floor. It was gathered that the suspect, Anorue, was angry that his wife had lied to him that the new baby will be a male child, which was what he had longed for in the family.

The wife, who spoke in tears, disclosed that she had to lie to her husband that she will be deliver of a male child because she was threatened so badly after her 3rd and 4th female children.
She said, “I had to lie to him so I could have peace of mind”.

The suspect, Anorue, confessed to the crime: “I really don’t know what came over me; I was so angry that I threw the baby on the floor. What my wife told me was different from the result of the scan she claimed revealed we would have a baby boy.

I had to give her money to do the test at two different laboratories but she always came home with a result showing we would have a boy. I had already renovated our house, bought lot of things but when I got home it was a baby girl”.  “We already had four girls and I was so happy when she told me we will have a male child but it turned to be female. ”Speaking on the strength of the report, the Imo State Public Relations Officer said the suspect will be charged to Court as soon as investigations are concluded. - Nigerian Bulletin.

Breaking: Petrol Now Sells For N108 Per Litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) yesterday declared a decrease in the ex-warehouse cost of petroleum from N113.28k per liter to N108 per liter over the entirety of its items stacking offices just as in its throughput activities.

According to the announcement, Nigerians will now buy the product at a reduced price of one hundred Naira (N108.00) per litre.

The company in the announcement made yesterday in Abuja by its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru, cited the Managing Director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Mr. Musa Lawan, as saying that the new ex-warehouse cost of petroleum mirrors the organization's market procedure to make more deals while consenting to the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency's (PPPRA) value format.

Lawan clarified that the new value system would empower PPMC to help its business volumes from the billions of liters of petroleum it has away while giving reasonable cost to a huge number of clients.

He said the new cost was shown up at after broad survey of market real factors by the PPMC inward value audit unit.

The PPMC boss revealed that Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), is being now deregulated, its costs are dictated by market forces.

NNPC had on March 19, 2020 declared an audit of its petroleum ex-beach front, ex-station and NNPC Retail siphon costs, accordingly compelling March 19, 2020, the partnership's ex-waterfront cost for petroleum was assessed downwards from N117.6/liter to N99.44/liter, while ex-warehouse cost was diminished from N133.28/liter to N113.28/liter.
